It's kind of weird how they didn't edit out the part where he openly does cocaine at the beginning of the video. I mean, it's a great performance but it's just kind of a sad thing to see.
If he was on cocaine he didn't make that joke. I think (and also alex said in some interview) that as a shy person he needs to build a different persona when he goes on stage (if you are really interessed, try to look at the lyrics of "the bourne identity" by tlsp). The alex you see on stage isn't the same alex who writes the lyrics, it couldn't be possible. I know sometimes money makes you make some stupid choices like taking drugs, but that's not the case.
