How to make amazing looking restoration video: Step 1: Take old laptop. Make it slightly dirty and cracked. Step 2: Take it apart, and wrap some of the parts in plastic film to make them look new. Step 3: Film yourself putting the laptop back together and turning it on to see that it works. Step 5: Take the laptop apart again and break some parts and burn holes in the casing. Step 6: Smear the parts in mud and put the laptop half-way back together. Step 7: Put it outside somewhere and film yourself 'finding' it. Step 8: Show the horrible state of it on camera, and take it apart and wash the parts with a scrub and soap. Step 9: Film yourself 'repairing' parts. Step 10: Show the footage you took in step 3, finishing your video with the footage of the laptop booting up before you broke it to make it seem like it's been restored.
That's literally what all of these restoration videos are. You cannot repair a laptop that looks like the ones he "found". Also I love how these video titles are just like a failed attempt to use Google translate.
I totally agree! I have a mini workshop with expensive and accurate equipment for repairing equipment + vast experience. This guy is repairing laptops with a burner and water! That's all, I'm leaving, my work does not make sense, many years of training have been wasted! (Hello from Siberia)
@Gary Johnston 15 year old laptops are in the XP/Vista era. I have this same model of laptop, it's not quite 15 years old though, more like 11-12. It's still quite capable as a portable office computer and can easily be upgraded to run Windows 10. The CPU and RAM are upgradeable, as seen around 9:12.
@Gary Johnston Reusing old gear as long as possible puts less waste into the already horrifying Ewaste streams polluting the planet. And it's cheaper to upgrade the laptop than buy a newer computer.
I am a software engineer, I have extensive experience in designing new and restoring old computers. I watched this video and I can say that this is a fake ... I can assume that the video was shot in the reverse order, at the beginning the working computer was removed as the end of the video, then it was disassembled and smeared with mud, then it was thrown into a landfill and somehow found. (Hello from Siberia)
I find these videos to be priceless. I believe if you had a sonic cleaner and a couple of weeks you could make a valiant attempt at restoring something like this. However, this is like trying to use a butcher knife when you really need a scalpel. BTW, I don’t think this is real for a second.
watch the ending of the video first, then imagine that he takes it apart and completely trashes it and smears it with mud and spreads the parts around outside. Then watch the video from the beginning of him finding and cleaning the parts. He cuts to himself putting it back together before destroying it so it looks like he restored it.
What appears at the beginning of the video is actually the end of the computer. He just disassembles the computer, wraps the parts and reassembles. So the recovery part is 100% fake. xD It's a comedy video all of them!

You can not avoid doing this for easy money that RUclips gives you by followers and each video that goes up, not use correct multimeter, which is measuring capacitors? resistances? bios? I repair electronics damaged by humidity or water or others and I can assure you that it is impossible that it is in the state that the electronic equipment finds them without corrosion or oxidation or anything broken or broken or short-circuited
Logic boards don't really corrode unless they're exposed to acids/bases or are powered while submerged in liquid. None of the metals on logic boards are particularly susceptible to major corrosion just sitting in water/mud, I've repaired many electronic devices myself from dumpsters, storm canals and the local junk yard which were either rained on for long periods of time or submerged in liquid. This video is obviously staged, but you can get electronics devices working again by carefully cleaning the boards and drying them.
7:14 Card reader has not yellow tape on it .... 22:30 ... now this looks more original LOL. Also you were lucky to have the exact same green that is not even the color or the computer.
