    Oh wow! The 1054 Supernova was literally next to Betelgeuse!
    When Betelgeuse becomes a Supernova itself, it'll be almost the exact same position in the sky.
    If Betelgeuse were to explode in 2054, that'd just be poetically beautiful. :)

      @@meikehoffmann966 It could have gone boom today but we won't know about it for about 140 odd years (don't remember exactly how far away it is).

    There is a pulsar inside on the nebula called: Crab Pulsar

    Tough nebula to see using a backyard telescope (C8). I've looked for the Crab Nebula and have never seen it.

    Uhh, the Crab Nebula is in Taurus, and the "natural" way to find it is from the Hyades, the head of the bull.

    Wasent this from 1050's or some year like that... how did you get this footige...

      The footage is from today (or five years ago when the picture was taken.) That isn't what it looked like 1,000 years ago. The report was that it looked like a star that brightened some 50 times from the night before. Supposedly they seen the star even in the daylight.

      there're some colors and filters, but the whole thing is real.
