  • This trigonometry video tutorial explains how to find the area of an oblique triangle. You should use heron's formula for SSS triangles where you are given all 3 sides of the triangle. You should use the sines formula to find the area of a SAS triangle where you are given two sides and the angle between the two sides.

MR. Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for calculating the Area of a Triangle using Heron's Formula. These videos are fun.

Sir you said in previous video that for SAS triangles we can use law of cosines??? Would the answer be same by both methods because I'm not getting the right answer by law of cosines method

Sorry for the late reply, but I think you are confusing solving a triangle and finding the area. For area you may use law of cosines to find a needed side/angle if you are not given enough information in order to find the area, but as far as I am aware, you wouldn't use the Law of Cosines to find the area itself. Hopefully this helps!

Is there a video on how to solve the following type of problem? "A triangle has area = 12964. Find the measure of the angle formed by sides measuring 225 and 139. (There are two answers)" My math professor sucks and doesn't teach us half the stuff he quizzes and tests us on.
    I love your videos.

Question, Did you divide the I half to get the five? or it's the way it is? I'm very confused, Also Thank you

But using Pythagorean Theorem, the Area is 12. How does that work? 3^2+b^2=5^2, b=4, 4*6=24, 24/2=12

Hello i know this is a mathematics video but I have a question about phsyics and I have an exam tomorrow, if u could plss reply it would be much appreciated. So, how do I get the maximum height if the only given are "a body projected ar 24.5m/s 60° above the horizontal" ?

same as SAS. with the formula for calculating the area being "Area = side1 × side2 × sin>°

I have to take back my reply.
I forgot that SAS triangle only refers to a triangle with a given of 2 sides with the angle in between the two.
      I WAS WRONG.
To take the area of SSA: first, you need to use the law of sines to solve for the missing angles and potentially the third side.
After that, with all the sides and angles known, you can now use the formula for SAS or you can use Heron's formula assuming that you got all the sides figured.
