Ok so it turns out enemy Naala is immune to surge, meaning Kappy Jr.'s surge was not actually damaging her, but it still could have ended with a different side winning each time due to Naala's weird standing range, and the fact that even without surge Kappy Jr. still does lots of damage.

Not the enemy version, but the unit version is.
Edit: I checked the enemys stats, enemy naala is also immune to surge, I must have missed that sorry.
Maybe all of kappy’s surges missed

How to get elder beast Naala?
The naala shown in this video you cant obtain, but to get the unit version you need to beat the last level in subchapter 43 of uncanny legends named "Behemoth's Peak".

and to do that, you must finish stories of legends, dont worry the final boss is pretty easy to be beaten compared to other stages, no return flights is your main concern since ubers got trashed in that stage, caliban's keeper is also one of the stage that you should be aware of.
