You're right. The instrument simply sounds great just making its most basic sounds so it's hard to get wrong if you just play something slow - at 33:00 onwards it starts to become pure cringe
The comments show that this woman hasn't just worked really hard mentally to become good at this instrument, but that she's also worked hard emotionally to resist those around her who would say she's not allowed to play because of how she was born. What an inspiration. I really look forward to becoming more familiar with her work.
what you mean with "how she was born?" is she a freak or something? I came here to comment how incredibly beautiful she looks ^^also that instrument is seriously cool
@@MarcSteinebrunner In Indian classical music the rudra veena is considered to be an instrument for male players. It is likely that she encountered some strong opposition from people who think that way.

Pranam Madhuvanti Saraswatiji! This is my favorite raga, the pentatonic form of harmonic minor, besides Nikhilda's Chandrakashiki. May your vibrations echo throughout the ages!
Rudra veena is probably my favourite indian classical instrument. So low and resonant Also it sounds absolutely STUNNING after the 30 min mark. Wow this performance really develops. FABULOUS performance, really moving.
That’s all thanks to Jimmy who’s in India living with me right now. A performer can’t be monitoring multiple cameras and audio while performing this music. Won’t you agree? So, having someone who knows what he’s doing and who knows this music really helps.
Yes, the thinking mind can step aside and let the sound flow through. Nice to have someone with a creative eye to think that side out. The background shading really puts yourself and the instrument in the foreground . Good job Jimmy.Look forward to hearing your sounds in the coming year.
Super quality as usual , and the cameras angles are great , wonderfull ... wishing more of this kind of live , and longer length... Anyway , it is magical , this quality of sound, performer, the shrutis ... all is so precise , accurate ... Beautifull Thanks so much ✨🙏✨ Koop Shundare
Phenomenal. You must have such strong hands. You rhythmic control is fantastic, the pitch bends are great, and I loved the slides and flourishes. Pay no attention to the ignorant hater comments
After 2 years of break finally ma'am is again consistent... Thank youuu for that (I literally replayed each music about 15-20 times and I was like ab kuch naya chaiye yaarr), and finally getting more rudra veena covers. They are outstanding ma'am. Zindagi mein kabhi na kabhi aapse ye instrument sikhna hai mujhe, let's hope wo time jaldi aayega ❤️. And ma'am you nail each performances 🙏
Thank you for sharing your wonderfully played music on your beautiful instrument. You make such amazing sounds and play with such passion it is an absolute joy to see and hear. Blessings sent your way. 😁👍❤️🙏🏻🇬🇧
Love the tone of this veena! It is different from the veena you were using during COVID years. Such great gayaki - sounds like the late great Ustad Fahimuddin Dagar singing.
Madhuvanti, I have been enjoying your past video's regularly and was waiting for your next one and so here we have it. This is such good therapy. Just taking in the sound rids stress and clears the mind. At time I just watch you play and amazed how you have the talent to systematically move those long fingers of yours. I know my limitation and no way I could master or attempt to do what you can; I am working on the tempura to get the sine wave effect, but that is as good as it gets for me. Take care now.
Not really sure i can distinguish one from another. Certainly trance inducing. Certainly worth an hour of my time and a thumbs up. appreciate your vibes so very much absolutely beautiful...
I’d argue that her style is more aligned with the unapologetic self-expression and ungovernable individuality embodied by Bianca Del Rio, Jinkx Monsoon, and Violet Chachki rather than the more traditional reverence of Saraswati!
Well if Mr Holy Radiance liked it then how couldn’t I 😹🙏🏻❤️🐈⬛ Truly though, thanks for the rendition of Raag Chandrakauns, it is beautiful. I wish my cat was still around to hear this 🙏🏻❤️

You are very beautiful between this cosmic bowls. 🙂You lead me to a vision, flying through the space and through the planetary sounds. What an Instrument, sitting between soundbowls... Is there a knowledge which tone resonates in which part of the body? So that your stretching strings massage an organ or the spine? For me you show the mystic nature of sound therapy, meditation and - acustical awareness.. It is a pleasure, thank you 🕉
Another of her magical renderings unveiling the hidden eros in the work. I would love to hear her discussing Zia Fariduddin Dagar's chandrakauns--why not record it too?
The instrument sounds like it could produce some interesting Southern and Texas Blues with similar riffs that a slide guitar does. The instrumentalist is very impressive in her abilities.
After reading the editor's comment in the description, all I can say is that you can always do better. Always, no matter how good you were. Thus, it is not about you as a performer, not about your feelings about it. You play, you send it to the world and that is it. This music does not belong to you anymore. It belongs to the world, to all the humanity. It brightens our days and makes us better.
I listened to real masters of this instrument, and this lady's strumming has nothing to do with music.

That's a really beautiful looking instrument how old is it or rather how many generations have played on it?
I’m guessing that the Rudra veena was built by the same lady that’s playing it. 🙏🏻❤️

Wonderful!! Rudra Veena is the name of the instrument, yes? Is it a specific rudra veena or a classical type of that? And is it old or new built?
