- Lufthansa Trip Report onboard the amazing new Airbus A320 Neo from Frankfurt to Santiago de Compostela. An A320neo that has already 4 years! It's amazing how quickly time passes!!
A great flight on the Lufthansa A320neo to Santiago de Compostela, in Galicia, Spain. After watching a lot of different airplanes in Frankfurt, we took off from runway 18 towards the south. After flying over Germany, France and the Atlantic Ocean, we've entered Galicia and approached runway 17 in Santiago with lots of clouds and rain.

Soon I will be making the first long-haul trip of the channel! Flying with American Airlines! :)
Santiago Chille, which is 12000km from Frankfurt should be possible in 20 years in an A320 class aircraft. I expect about a 20% reduction by going to bigger ducted fans or prop fans, another 15% from more advanced engine cores with inter cooling and heat regeneration, another 10% from lighter airframes and about 20% from true laminar flow. Compounds to about 50%.
@@WilliamJones-Halibut-vq1fs Well, that's a nice point of view. It's a fact that airplanes will continue to get more and more efficient. However, the A320 will never be able to reach those distances just for 1 reason: the 320 airframe has already more than 30 years and Airbus will develop a new airplane that will replace the A320 before they reach those distances.

To me, she seemed to say "Gut Gott" in the beginning in an exasperated tone, which is probably what something between "Gruess Gott" and "Guten Tag" accidentally came out as, and expressed how flight attendants feel on those short-haul flights to holiday destinations that are filled with families and long enough for people to come up with all kinds of issues and requests, yet short enough for the crew to have to do at least one more rotation that day.

This was a beautiful video. I love how you take the time to add the destinations and origins of the various aircraft. It was so cool seeing the Condor 767 bound for Bridgetown, Barbados which is my country. I may have even been at the airport to see that one arrive :-)

El vídeo lo que más me ha gustado ha sido sobre todo el Aeropuerto de Frankfurt la cantidad de aviones que había y sin duda me hubiera gustado ver aterrizar ese par de monstruos 747-800 , es una pasada esos aviones ya me gustaría ir en uno de ellos haber si tienes oportunidad algún día tu de subir en uno y así nos deleitas con el vídeo. What a ..sensual voice in that announcement..It reminds me of certain..ahem...phoneline..services :P I flew one month ago with a LH A320N too, on SKG-FRA, about the same flight time..Service before the strike was ok but don't expect anything great..They gave us a sandwich and coffee,tea,refreshments..Still it was acceptable..Austrian on the other hand gave us...a chocolate and refreshments

Haha Yep! The A320neo and, in general, all new-generation engines make a really low noise! I miss some engine roar during takeoff! However, during flight is perfect! :D
Well, the weather in Santiago is pretty much that one during 60-70% of the year! haha

Can you see that everyone loves your tripreports? You should have way more subscribers! Maybe make more ‘vlog’ style reports because they seem to reach quite a wider audience, but maybe you prefer this style! Anyway thanks for sharing 👌✈️

OnBoardHD - Flight Experience Awesome. It’s totally up to you though as both styles seem to be popular, but the likes of Jeb Brooks, Sam Chui and Nonstop Dan all do the vlog style and it’s seems popular, I think mainly for the non-avgeeks. :)

Pues la verdad es que lo recuerdo totalmente lleno. De hecho, recuerdo que había triupulaciiones que querían viajar de standby en el aeropuerto de Frankfurt y que no pudieron porque no había asientos vacios.

Wow! I was wondering if you can take a trip on jet2 to Lapland? If the flights are still on then do it, if not try next year! Also, have you ever flown from Leeds Bradford Airport? I would recommend a flight from there to menorca but other than that great trip report!

When was it? Is still Lufthansa doesn't provide food on their flights? I flew with then last June and it was like that.
I dont remember exactly... however, yes, they provide food on their flights.
Great video as ever, Lucas! Love travelling with Lufthansa, but then my Austrian flight is in 3 weeks !! Quick question - do ypou have any idea what the authorities in Santiago plan for the old terminal buildings. Seems strange to see it languishing there as a kind of relic of a by-gone era. Presumably there is not enough traffic through Santiago that would require a second terminal in the future...

For me any German is not understandable. I would like to know it, but I dont speak German.
However, also in English she had the same kikd of accent. Maybe is her way to speak in general 😅🤷♂️

Que buen trip, hermoso ese A320NEO, no había escuchado esos sonidos tan particulares de los motores éstos desde dentro de una cabina. Que hermosa es Galicia, el verde de la naturaleza es muy bonito. Olvidaste poner la fecha aproximada de ese vuelo!! jajajajaja !!! que pesado que soy !!!!. Me gustaría saber mi estimado amigo, como logras identificar el destino de las aeronaves que están lejos de tu posición ya que no se logra ver la matrícula?. Que hermoso aeropuerto es FRA, me gusta mucho y justo cabe la coincidencia que iré a FRA a fines de febrero volando en LATAM en ruta SCL-GRU-FRA y a la vuelta FRA-MAD-SCL. Respecto a tus preguntas:
¿Has volado alguna vez con Lufthansa?: Si, ya varias veces, pero sólo vuelos de larga distancia, llámese GRU-FRA, GRU-MUC, MUC-GRU, FRA-GRU, y unas cuantas veces en otras aerolíneas del grupo: Eurowings, Austrian, Swiss. Buena experiencia volar en Lufthansa, servicio a bordo sin novedad, bueno, buena comida. ¿Has volado ya en el A320Neo? No, hasta aquí no y eso que acá en Chile estamos plagados de aerolíneas con A320NEO. Saludos mi viajero amigo desde "Santiago" pero de Chile !!!!! jajajajaja !!!

Lo cierto es que este vídeo lo grabé a principios de Otoño del 2019, pero no he encontrado un hueco para él en la programación hasta ahora jaja Lo cierto es que ya tengo cerrada la programación hasta principios de Abril, así que imagínate como está la cosa. La edición de los vídeos lleva mucho por vídeo! jaja
Las matrículas las puedo ver en el ordenador al editar. Aunque RUclips ofrece 4K, lo cierto es que le quita calidad a los vídeos igualmente. Al editar puedo hacer zoom y ver las matrículas de casi todos los aviones.
Nunca he hecho largo radio con Lufthansa. Es probable que lo haga pronto, pero por ahora no puedo opinar al respecto. Lo que si está asegurado son los primeros vuelos a USA con American Airlines a principios de Febrero. :)

Ryanair deja de tener aviones basados en Canrias, pero seguirá volando desde muchísimos aeropuertos a las Islas Canarias. Es decir, no van "dormir" aviones de Ryanair en las islas, pero volarán allí desde otros aeropuertos.

imo you should decrease number of inflight cabin views. For example on this flight was the only interesting on those views the bald head of one of the passengers :) but its only my opinion. Everything except of that was beautiful as always.
I add them because I don't like to put only window views. That way you have a better feeling by watching what is happening also inside the plane. Anyway, thanks for the feedback!

This flight no longer exists...now only trough connection...
Renato, before saying this type of things you should make research... During the winter season they operate twice per week the route, while in summer is initially 5 flights per week and they are close to announcing the daily flight for the summer season.

Honestly, Frankfurt airport is the pits. For a country like Germany it's unexpectedly (given they are good at doing other things) disgusting, crowded, disjointed, bad facilities (except for the DB train station) and poorly planned. It should be demolished but given the debacle that is the new Berlin airport I'm not sure the Germams actually have the ability to build and plan a decent airport in a timely manner.

I agree that this terminal in Frankfurt looks old (and in fact it's old). However, what I love about FRA is that you can see an amazing variety of airplanes every day! :D

With "meal", I meant the usual sandwich that they give on flights that are scheduled for less than 2:30h. for longer than 2:30h inside Europe they give hot meals.
typical Lufthansa .... the numerous and forever long announcements are annoying at lufthansa, other airlines don't babble as much.

It's not stupid at all. English is the official language of aviation and German is the airline country language. It would be nice to play their pre-recorded Spanish msgs as well? Yep, for sure. But they only compulsory one is English.
