They are most definitely heading in the right direction. This is a solid update over last year and I expect we’re going to see something right in line with the competition soon enough!
I agree. The price point is an issue, in particular, when there is Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 is at $225. Looks like it would have been a good training option but then there is Superblast and other lower priced shoes in that category as well.
Yes it’s the price point for me, however I am starting to see discounts in the UK already in some retailers. So all of a sudden it becomes a very appealing.
Got to demo this shoe recently and really enjoyed it. I like how much foam is under the forefoot and how bouncy it is. Just seemed a tad heavy to me against other similarly priced shoes like the Metaspeed or Adios Pro.
Agreed! I think the shoe feels great and it’s definitely fun to run in. UA has all they need to make a winner, they just have to shave off a bit of weight!
The Flame RS has slightly more room in the midfoot and rides firmer than the VE2. I wouldn’t like to run a marathon in the FRS, because of how firm it is), but I’d be happy to run a marathon in the VE2!
I haven't run in the Adios Pro 3 yet (or any Adidas Pro) so I can't compare, however, I do not think these compare. I would run a marathon in the VE2s, but even without trying them, I'm sure I could run faster in the AP3.
For me they feel a little faster than the Superblast, but they're not as versatile at all distances. I look at the Superblast as a light weight daily trainer more than anything. This is better for faster workouts. ZoomX foam is much softer than the two foams used in the VE2.
You had me at 2mm drop. Please don't describe your feet as "dainty." 😆 Quite a heavy shoe for a racer. Might be better as a long distance trainer perhaps? Thx, Matt.
Why can’t I have dainty feet? 🤣 Agreed about it falling more into the faster training category rather than racing. Perhaps if UA gets rid of the Flow next year we’ll have a legit light weight racer!
Pleasantly surprised with this shoe. I’d pretty much written off UA running shoes. I think they’re heading in the right direction.

Yup! It’s a great shoe, but it won’t go anywhere at that price.
I got it for $119 directly from UA during UA Rewards MVP Week in Singapore.
Good score! What a deal! 🙌🏽

If you can get it on a good discount it will be worth it! It’s a solid and speedy shoe…just not quite at that premium price point!

@@its_Matt_B_ Works for Sharon Lokedi tho!
@@A_SEGA_Dremcast There’s no arguing with results! She tore it up at NYC in 2022 and had an epic NYC M. race in 2023 too!
Best fast road trainer of the year for me. Underarmor? Who knew??
It sure feels light and fast! Exactly what we want when dropping the hammer! Imagine this shoe when they use a peba foam!!
Great review, how does it compare with the 361 Flame RS?

what do you think for a marathon? weight 68 kg sub 3h soft medium or hard midsole? difference with Adidas adios pro 3 that I currently use...

Can these match the superblast in speed? Since this got pebax, do you recover quick like in zoom x shoes?

@@its_Matt_B_ i was hoping it could replace my superblasts since i find ff turbo harsh, thank you very much
@@yuree08 The Turbo is quite a harsh foam. I definitely agree with that. I found my Superblasts softened over time though.
