- Time to try a NEW topwater lure! I picked up the smaller 4" Z-Man Hellraizer. It's a unique topwater lure that was able to catch me some fish. Is it just a gimmick or could it actually become part of my regular rotation?

Good idea adding the split rings to that! I was debating adding a longer swivel to give it a bit more separation 🤔
I bought the full-size black hellraizer last year and tried it. I won't lie, I didn't catch any bass on it, just a lot of pike, and after bending the wire back and forth a few times, I broke it off. I lost a ton of fish on it too. Nice vid from the kayak debo💯
Same thing happened to me. I bought the Zen Hellraiser. It is c a c a 😮.
Yeah, I wondered about that wire!
Glad I'm not the only one throwing my lure into the trees when working an area like that.
Always happens at least once 😅
It’s super fun to throw. And it works well at catching pike more than bass. The wire breaks on the back hook holder bending it back and forth after fish.
The spook/frog/buzz bait have always been my go-to top water. However, I might give this bait a try in my area this summer as the unique action might get me some more bites.
Still hyped that Debo has a native now! Debo idk about you, but when I bring the big boots to launch I change them out while I fish just because they’re so cumbersome and awkward when pedaling, I recently heard. Kayaks are a gateway drug to crocs 😅😂
I got some Merrill croc type shoes. I just wear them in the water. I like them...even though I hate wet feet 😅
@@DEBOSFishing used to swear I’d never wear crocs but after buying the native and needing to get in the water to launch. It was just a matter of time lol
The ol' Top water Chatterbait.. this thing is slept on already..
Nice hook up ratio with the trees
Love it man. I haven’t caught any on mine yet but the action looks great. Thanks Debo.
Catch and cook! Catch and cook! Loving the kayak videos; looks like a ton of work! Nothing on top water yet this year…here’s to hoping!
Best topwater bite for me so far has been on the frog and buzztoad, but in general the cicadas seem to have won the topwater game lately. I've found that I get way more bites on jigs when they are keyed in on cicadas then any of the topwaters I throw (poppers, buzzbaits, frogs, buzztoad). I can't explain it and would have never predicted it. Wapa Plapa's may be working well.... I just never throw them.
Debo really enjoy the videos. Change out that front treble for a red one. I like the split ring mod. Very cool. Having good success on the booyah boss pop. Greetings from South Africa
Editing skills are on point Debo
Always good to get a topwater bite! Good to see you got the CC80 back out, I miss mine, I gave it to my brother in Alaska..
They definitely gotta want it… if they nip at it they probably not staying on. BUT with that said my boy Pat SLAAAAYS with this thing!
Thanks for the tips, going to put xtra split ring on! Happy to see you liking your kayak! Still liking the Rapala xrap popper!
Yes Debo, more hook and cooks ! Still have not tossed my Hellrazer, I'm in R.I. and it's in Idaho, will make a point to chuck it next summer when I go next ! thanks for the content, always great to see your videos.
Thats what i love about my 10' jon boat its easy to load in a small truck bed. Weighs lighter than some loaded kayaks. The easy of taking it out, moving around plus having more acual room for things is why i stick to it, that and i almost drown with a kayak once i cant stand a kayak now lol
Yeah, I'm still not comfortable standing and fishing in this 😅
@@DEBOSFishing you couldn't pay me to stand in a yak 😂. You won't even get me out on one after my experience with one lol. Good luck out there bud.
Those are my favorite topwater lure i have a bunch of both sizes if they dont want the big one i go to the small ones i slay them early morning when its still pitch black out i even caught a walleye on the smaller black one
I haven't tried the hellraiser! I thought it looked very gimmicky too. Very bizarre lure... Lol. I think I'll give it go!
I got two 3lbers while in my yak recently, and I've learned what combos are not going to be used on it. Dropped my setup while almost hooking myself 😅, thankfully i recovered.
The hell raiser looks interesting. I picked up the 4” on sale a while back, haven’t been out recently, gotta get out to give it a try. Haven’t gotten on a great topwater bite yet.
The two topwaters that have produced the best for me have been the whopper plopper and the lucky craft sammy 100. Have had days with both where I’ve caught 10-15 in an hour to hour and a half.
Plopper needs to get back in my rotation!
Debo I gotta say you seem happier since you got a yak, just saying thanks for the great video brother
It has Definitely been a fun new adventure!
Dinks are still fish bro. I need to get me a smaller HR. I have 2 of the larger ones. Love the action the lure has but haven't caught anything yet. Used it a bunch last year and it's still in my arsenal
I noticed you using a left and right handed casters...I have a curado k that my wife got but it's right handed and I prefer left.
I would happy to catch a some small one's because I just started trying bass fishing this year and have not caught any yet
I saw you graph keeps flashing. May have a loose connection. Great vid!
I think it was because of the grass that was so high in there. I'm still trying to learn all the graph stuff 😅
Great video it's looking like that lure is working good
It kind of looks like a small Duck with a big set of Nuts in the back but it works. I’m thinking “Dinkstock” next after Dinkapalooza…. Glad you are out fishing my friend and made it through the Tornado and Tsunami Hell….
😅
I've had the hellrazor for over a year, and I've never caught anything on it to this day, lol. I have the bone and black color and nothing
First time I casted a plopper, it got bit, maybe 1 after that 😅
I leaned a hard lesson today.... multiple times LoL
Baitcasters are not made for 1/4 oz baits..... Every time I chucked one out, a birdnest appeared. But your vid showed me how to unknot ....thanx 👍
New ones toss 1/4 . I can cast a 1/4th oz swimbait on my tranx 200. Just had to adjust the brakes.
@@otroflores91 maybe it was me than....tried throwing a spook with max brake and it still nested
@@GreenManalichi wow what size spook and reel? I toss a ima skimmer walk the dog lure which I think is 3/8th oz . Have little to no problems on all my baitcasters with that weight and above. I started learning on a abu Garcia black max throwing 3/8-5/8th swimbaits with 12-15lb mono line. The mono is easier to pick backlash out on and bulk mono spools from Walmart are affordable. So you can respool the reel if you really blow it up. Good luck If you still want to keep trying to practice on a baitcaster. Use your thumb to slow the line right before the lure hits the water.
Nothing wrong with spinning setups. I have a few ranging from 2lb line for trout to 30lb for school sized tuna .
Certain baitcasters are better at throwing lighter lures. The shimano slx mgl is a great one for that at a reasonable price!
@@otroflores91 it's me..... I had to watch Deebos video over again..... I'm that "thumbs up" guy 😆
Not interested in the Hellraiser, but i do want to know about that Maverick rod. Im looking for a new bc combo, and the Maverick rod/reel have my attention right now. Thanks Debo. ✌️😎🎣
The maverick rod has been great! For reaction moving lures and topwater, it has been great!
@DEBOSFishing thanks man
I have heard from multiple sources that this lure, in fact, catches fish. I may just have to pick one up.
Great video. Def an interesting lure.
Dude I love the hat 😮
It's a fish catcher with the split ring mod.
Hellraizer for the win
Man I love the action on the bait but I’ve had well over 10 strikes and not a single one got the hook. The metal covering the back hook blocks them from getting the hook. Sucks cause it’s incredibly unique.
The ol pencil plopper
I would try it out you never know
Thanks for the mod...
Hmmmmm might have to look at some of the Mavericks… broke 5 rods in the last month and a half 😑🤦🏾♂️🤕
Don’t worry buddy I’m always catching the tree pounders lol
I have a great hookup ratio on trees 😅
Have you tried the Teckel Blade Waker? I have been catching good ones on it.
No, haven't used that one
Nothing wrong with a dinkfest....I'd say 75% of the bass I catch are under 16"
This is the way 😂
I have it tied on, fished it once and still on the fence. Think I might just put a walking bait on 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
Do you get a lot of water in your kayak as you fish? Is it hard to get it on car roof? I’m considering a reel yak that is in two parts.
No, it's just when I pull up my pedal drive a lot. I would go wirh a smaller yak for roof loading.
Where'd you get that FEESH hat Debo??
Had a few made. Was thinking of making a run of them to sell!
@@DEBOSFishing I'd buy one for sure!
Still haven’t tried mine but I did buy the mini one. Is flouro ok for this?
I had a great day on a whopper plopped 75 a couple weeks ago
Never have used it... too expensive for my wallet, especially considering I'm a bank angler!
And dinks make the bigger fish that more exciting!!
Very true!
Hellrazer looks like it's made out of junkyard parts off a 1956 Rambler put together by a mentally challenged used car salesman. I intend to buy one when Hell Freezes Over ! That said, you are getting better at the sidearm casting in your kayak and it was another good day on the water. Who cares if they were dinks, much better than zeroing.
Where can I get the FEESH hat?
Was thinking of making more for a special run...
@@DEBOSFishingPlease announce the run if you do.
Sup Debo?
👋
Dinks are dandy.
Anything works.....sometimes .
50 percent of thr time, works every time 😅
@@DEBOSFishing I'll take that any time. Especially some days . Ha !
Fisherman that are not competition anglers that obsess over the size of the fish they are catchin lol
This guy is well on his way to be voted worst channel again lol I watch him tho..it’s funny
I'm awful at fishing 😂
