id say one or two of these are actually transformative beyond changing speed/speech, but even then, its just adding another sample on top. despite all that, i can appreciate what's ACTUALLY been created from this meme taken too far.
So what im to assume here is that vaporwave is basically like backwards nightcore? like, they just take songs and slow them down a bit? maybe changing up the pitch and the beat a little
Shnitzel_von_shtubenstein It started as that, and some still are. The first ever vaporwave songs from eccojams for example. Its all looped, slowed down portions of songs. Now the "genre" has gladly gone beyond and it has been producing more original content evoking the same nostalgic feels (2814 as an example, which uses little to no samples) Future Funk on the other hand hasn't evolved much. It's still the same shifted pitch, couple of synths and some chorus effect on a already "future" funk song from japan or eu/usa.

I've always have but i can never find the certain type of songs now but now that it's a genre I'm in love with life 👌
The Zoombot28 FUCKING SAME
It doesn't matter how much effort went into making the song, what matters is the raw
a e s t h e t i c
The perfect track is: HOME - Resonance
Yea thats synthwave
So? Synthwave, future funk, ect are subgenres of vaporwave
@Samuel Moyer ehhh. But they synthwave and vaporwave are kinda of related
That's synthwave friend
@@kiblowekwiatki9763 they're all connected but not necessarily derived
id say one or two of these are actually transformative beyond changing speed/speech, but even then, its just adding another sample on top.
despite all that, i can appreciate what's ACTUALLY been created from this meme taken too far.
I love that they use 80s pop songs such a great thing
2:50 *Tik tok:Allow us introduce ourselves*
Wait, tiktok uses this song? Well fuck. There goes one of my favorite future funk songs, down the shit hole.
NOOOOOOO
dang tiktok always ruined a good song
Nooooooooooooo... 😭😡
wow not even vaporwave is safe from the evil clutches of tiktok
Wait. THAT is where Macintosh Plus got the sample?
/music plays
So what im to assume here is that vaporwave is basically like backwards nightcore? like, they just take songs and slow them down a bit? maybe changing up the pitch and the beat a little
Shnitzel_von_shtubenstein And effects, yeah
Don't forget A E S T H E T I C S
fuck youre right, how could i have forgotten the most important ingredient Lange Inl
Shnitzel_von_shtubenstein It started as that, and some still are. The first ever vaporwave songs from eccojams for example. Its all looped, slowed down portions of songs. Now the "genre" has gladly gone beyond and it has been producing more original content evoking the same nostalgic feels (2814 as an example, which uses little to no samples)
Future Funk on the other hand hasn't evolved much. It's still the same shifted pitch, couple of synths and some chorus effect on a already "future" funk song from japan or eu/usa.
I honestly like the Fianna Ross version of the Macintosh plus one

I like them both, but I'd listen to one or the other depending on my mood
*Diana 😉

This is how I got introduced to Junko Yagami.
- Danny-kun
aests FIGHT! was a good remix to Yasuha chinatown
I agree. 👌
i like the ones that make it a lil funky but the ones that just slow it down/speed it up with some beats make me >:/
okay zoomer
K
The funky ones are called "Future Funk"
1:50 that will always be my go to music to relax
It doesn't matter how lazy it is.
It. *IS* vaporwave.
It's sad how people forget the true meaning of vaporwave. Yes, SAINT PEPESI'S ENJOY YOU'RELF, and SYLLABUS's temple_stage01 are both the same genre, and both therefore are equal, even with a quality gap like that. If it's vaporwave, it can't not be vaporwave. Even if a song is just slowed down, it's vaporwave. People who say that some vaporwave "isn't vaporwave" should invest in the genre's origin more. If they want to, ofcourse
Poladroid // true, but credit should at the very least be given.
@@fushiijo like Saint Pepsi did
Im pretty sure this is less of "these vaporwave artists are lazy" and more of "vaporwave, in and of itself, is lazy"
That being the point doesn't really help either.....
So basically, vaporwave is lazy music, end of the story.
"Oh hey I can speed up/slow down a song sample"
"better make a genre out of this"
Nah.
NicDoesDumbThings Hey, it apparently worked for Nightcore (although they've just speed it up) so why not
Ik people are dissing on other vw artists but you gotta give Blank Bashee, Saint Pepsi, and Aests some credit for how amazing they made their vaporwave music.
1:50 - 2:09 eargasm
This is the video that got me into City Pop. Thank you! :D
Nobody:
Vaporwave: 『R』『E』『V』『E』『R』『B』
Sometimes I’m an outrun guy, sometimes I’m a vapor wave guy. They’re just different moods ya know.
I have to say but this is the second best sample genre. the first is House
gotta be trollin
Yeah, especially late 90s House
Purplehair Magoo youtu.be
Argument invalid
Thanks for introducing me to Dress Down, which brought me to City Pop. Absolute masterpieces
of course we can't forget the other japanese music in this video and the series in general. yes, i listened to them and still do
You're doing gods work, thank you.
I see MJ, I click
Intro song is Come Back Down by HOME and its def worth a listen
man, these videos take me back. feels like it was just yesterday i was watching these in the summer of 2017.
its only been four years -_-
@@XZ-III with the way these past 2 years have been going it might as well have been 300
I can't believe this actually exists and nothing has popped up for plagiarism.
because it's not plagiarism...
It's sampling, not plagiarism
It’s not plagiarism if you are enhancing the source material.
Because they're samples, not the whole song
Everything you hear has been sampled from somewhere
You have 100 points for for using HOME from the get go. Well done
so....Daft Punk was vaporwave before vaporwave?
Daft punk is more future funk
Daft Punk revolutionize the art of Vaporwave and Sampling
funnily enough, in part 4 I've got a vaporwave sample of daft punk!
+Vladimir Putin I own a physical copy of discovery by Daft Punk and I looked through the song info, and it said all the sample info in there, however on some songs where it totally sounds like they did amazing sampling, it said nothing about any samples. Maybe I can find info online
WHERE IS PART 4??!!!!1111oneoneoen
Vaporwave is a legitimate genre. I don't care how many people think that this is a meme. It perfectly replicates the elevator and lounge music that was popular during 80's and 90's hypercapitalism and consumerism.
