Currently I haven't beaten nightmare mode yet because still grinding for zed on normal difficulty (btw progress is around 94% cuz im at 4900 points on lvl 22) I also thought about using armored but it seemd a bit too complicated to choose a correct moment to use it in strategy. some important notice if your gonna try to do the strat in wave 27 all your xwm turrets should be set to last in wave 28 the boss 2 spam make sure to set atleast 1 of the xwm turrets to last(so the boss 2 dont get multiplied twice) wave 38 place one xwm turret can be default in the front of the entrance and set it to random or weakest(weakest much more recommended for obvious reasons) to prevent the multiplier p from multiplying the boss 4 since he is gonna insta kill you if he does in the final wave i heavily advice to deactivate the 50% speed up so you can keep up better

I would still get xwm first though, makes the grind for everything else way easier
This kind of strategy only works in borderlands and western. the only problem of dealing nightmare mode is how you handle the hordes of lavas as they have the passive of stational state, to beat it is to place barracks as they stay stational while shooting enemies which is pretty good for dealing with lavas. But it is less effective if you done it with straight ahead tracks, it makes the barracks unprepared and can be annihilated quickly. you can accompany the barracks with armored factory with 3-2(2 places) and continue placing 5-2 for late game, as they deal variants of damage which can which is pretty good against hordes of boss 2 and boss 4. Zed is the most recommended to beat nightmare mode in borderlands.
