My system recently was shutting off.. I thought it was speaker wires since I was using just bare wire in the back.. Rewired to banana plugs.. Still shut down after an hour of use.. Called a repair shop and he thought it was gettting hot.. Bought the exact fans you showed before I saw your video here.. 1 fan worked and prevented any more shut downs.. Blew my mind! .. Bought 1 more fan the next day.. Figured 2 fans is better then 1.. They both just sit right on top of my integrated amp pulling the hot air out.. Haven't had a problem since.. Very lucky..
I'm just seeing your channel and I have a question about the dust issue, I live in a older house and things get dusty kinda fast around here. I do have a infinity fan on top of my marantz receiver and one time while dusting in the room I moved the fan off of the receiver and there was a lot of dust between the fan and receiver and I've been a little concerned after seeing that. My question is if I buy the compressed air will I have to take the top off of the receiver to blow the dust out, my receiver is still under warranty and I've read somewhere that if you touch one screw that it could cancel the warranty. Will it be ok to blow the dust with out taking the top off. Thanks
You shouldn't need to take the cover off the receiver. Just lightly dust it out and keep a bit of distance from the internals. It doesn't have to be spotless either. Just enough to keep it from building up layers and layers. My receiver also collects a bit more dust with the fan being on it . But a few quick sprays and that is all that is needed.
10 years with a Yamaha and never had a single shutdown. 1 month in with a denon and it shut off middle of a family Christmas movie I had turned up. Extremely disappointed in Denon after this.

Ahhh man!! That is frustrating!!! Did you figure out why it's happening? What speakers are you driving with it?
Which yamaha model is that?
