Anyone notice that the newer they get the more “home made” the zombie strike guns look?
That is why it is one of my favorite series... I love that homemade look
one of them literally has wrenches and pliers painted on it
My theory is that they look more and more home made to show the progression of time and normal guns becoming harder and harder to find.
It goes from the slingfire, which looks like a magfed winchester rifle or something, to the scravenger, which looks like scrap.

It had been nearly ten years, and I still carry and use my hammershot in nerf events. Even with the newer half length pistols like the fire rat amd dart zone pro, this still beats them in terms of reliability and simplicity, along with the fact that the dart posts can be removed for it to fire both full and half length darts. I find it much better than most modern sidearms, and nobody can force me to switch.

actually it's a skeletal "hood" that attaches to the back of the house and is lined with a fine mesh. You see this a lot in the southern United States, even on smaller/moderate sized houses.

Very late to the party, but I'm surprised that your conclusion made no mention of the huge advantage granted by the hammer system - one handed firing. Unless I missed it? Not even for the pleasure of using two of the guns at once, but being able to follow up without bringing my off-hand into play while running, crawling or balancing is immensely useful when running around being a fool with friends =)

Mod this blaster with a BlasterWorks mod kit (metal trigger, extended metal hammer, 10kg spring) and it's really nice. The metal hammer is easier to reach and cock one-handed, and if you go two-handed, you can hold down the trigger and produce a "slam-fire" rapidshot effect by hammer firing. The spring is also stronger and crisper.
With EKind waffle darts, it's remarkably accurate and I love having it at the office.
The Hammershot looks awesome and I like the hammer firing mechanism.
The fake wood and bandage wrapped handle doesn't look terrible, it looks badass.
This is the best nerf pistol so far.
I'm gonna buy 2 since they can be dual wielded. :)

Nathan Beck I know, it makes it necessary to mod the blaster a lot. Already removed AR and stiffened the spring and it's still not getting American performance.

I just ordered one (used), because I see it as a perfect sidearm, since I can quickly prime it and shoot with one hand, in case my primary blaster needs reloading or jams.

i like how you brought up the cosplay possibility just do to the fact when i first saw the design before launch, thats exactly why i fell in love with it....its perfect for cosplay especially steampunk

This thing is great. Last year for Christmas, when I had just gotten into Nerf (like a week before that Thanksgiving), I opened this up and was kinda disappointed because I didn't want no wimpy pistol. Then I actually started screwing around with it. Now I just think it's funny how my judgement for Nerf guns was that if it wasn't big and ridiculous, it wasn't worth getting. I still love the giant, heavy-style guns though. I'm trying to get a Mega Mastodon for Christmas!
The new coop thinks more highly of the hammer shot now. Now even comparing it to the strong arm and the hammer shot ended up winning because one handed uses. lol
This gun reminds me of a combination of a Jakobs pistol from BL2 and the Winters Howl from COD zombies.

I have one of these and love it. The bar at the bottom makes it so you can rest it on something or hold it there without affecting the revolver aspect. (It also needs it for rotating)
Try sticking your pinky finger in the bottom sling mount. makes it easier when cocking with 1 hand. also use micro, dart tag or suction cup darts w/ it for better range and accuracy

This gun hurts point blank, my younger brother thought it would be funny to sneak up on my and shoot me in the neck at point blank, it really hurt lol
i have point blank and i started to bleed, my point is this particular nerf gun will sting if you are shot in the back of the neck at point blank range because it has that much power

I actualy took off the front bit and it fires nicely and is easy to reload the cylinder is slightly wobbly but it does not effect performance in anyway

I bought two just for dual wielding, and cos its my Favoret Nerf pistol!
I struggle to dual these, it sometimes skips a dart and doesn't always lock into place. The spring is so heavy and it feels clunky I wish the hammer was less painful to pull...
Is this like the persuader where it’s a pain to prime it with 1 hand?
