I thought Bellingham played pretty well considering he was played out of position in the Left Wing to accommodate Foden in the middle. In the final Bellingham was doing a lot of good stuff from the Left while Foden was completely anonymous.
He was played out of position on the left wing and still played decent. In the final he made some excellent plays especially when the team were out of ideas. That nutmeg on Rodri, that spin that took out 2 Spanish players and also assisting Palmer for that goal

The whole final was lost after 1-1 after Southgate had two defenders waiting to come on which gave his team that negative xfactor. Then they had a throw in at Spains end and went all the way back to keeper. The keeper wasted two balls after going 2-1 down kicking it long to no one. I agree with the top 5 tho.
Honest assessment of the debacle! Walker was tormented with his mind for personal life!. Arnold ,Palmer, Watkins and Gordon should have been playing in the final. Spain would have still won, but we would have had a great final to watch and be entertain!
Absolutely spot on mate. Probably the easiest route possible to the final and they scraped through those games. Not to say england didn't score some fine goals but overall they were pretty much all against the run of play with most of the other teams deserving to win over the course of the game. Kane was basically ineffective for the whole tournament. Although I cannot stand the guy, foden was the stand out player in the team for me.
To be fair to Walker, apart from being a crap ball crosser, it can be argued that he was beaten on his side due to Spain's in game tactics not individual defensive flaws. Foden was completely ineffective. Anthony Gordon and Eze should have been commanding that left flank.
The problem with the squad is that Kane,Foden and Bellingham can't play together. Walkers level wasn't up to standards.Rice was playing poor the whole tournament and we had a coach who didn't dare to take risks.
Southgate is by nature a defensive coach and that worked well 6 years ago but England now have some of the most exciting young talents that other countries would kill to have and these players need an attacking manager

Southgate picked Harry Kane because he is the most effective centre forward in football today. His record speaks for itself. Even at this tournament. Watkins had about 45 minutes on the pitch and scored 1 goal. Kane had over 450 minutes and scored 2. Both Kane and Foden have never looked better and they both completely crumbled in this squad. The only difference is that Kane had his time to be the hero.

I feel this video sums up the overly critical and negative English media culture when it comes to the national team. Yes there is some truth to all the points you make however the England team are expected to win every game 3-0 irrespective who the opponents are and all 11 players are expected to have their best game ever every game but football is not like that. National teams don’t get the number of games clubs do so it is difficult for teams to gel. The comments regarding the England performance are true but we need to remember that most of the European teams in the Euros have high world rankings and it is getting very difficult to win tournaments. Other highly ranked teams such as France also performed badly. Most of the games had tight scorelines. So 2 euro finals is very good. Actually, we don't know for sure why the team sat back after scoring. We can blame Southgate but that's really a guess. Maybe it's the players.

He looked out of shape, unfit, poor first touch, he never won his headers, could barely hold up the ball like Giroud does.
The reason Spain won is they played as a team, english players played as a group of players brought together and blaim over work.
The other reason is because Spanish players are technically superior. The English team spent 70% of the game chasing shadows
