A trip dominated by the depth of fish shadows
今期ゴールデンウィーク頃に数多く現れている情報を聞きなかなか訪れる機会をつくることが出来なかったタオ島に潜りに行ってきました
タイランドのサムイ島は雨季に入った6月
透視度は全ての日程で良い時は少なかったもののタオ島の海をこよなく愛したダイバーで賑わっていました
お目当てのジンベエザメに逢えると信じて…
ちょうど私がタオ島に向かう前のダイバーの方々は西側のコンディションが悪く東側のエリアしか潜れなかったと現地スタッフから聞き、繰り返し訪れた台風の影響を海の中で感じました
日本人ガイドのいるサービスを選び旅の目的を伝える機会がありました
現れる時は繰り返し姿を見せてくれると聞いていたジンベエザメは今回の旅でその壮大な姿を見せてくれることはありませんでした
ただこの数日後半は大潮と重なり海の生物も騒がしく感じました
撮影した動画は極一部ですが親身になってタオ島の海をガイドしてくれたスタッフの方々と共に過ごして頂いたゲストの方々に敬意を表します

⚫︎Sail Rock
Sail Rock is the most famous dive site of 3 islands（Koh Tao,Koh phangan,Koh Samui）Located mid way between Koh Tao and koh Phangan.
This rock pinnacle,shaped like an iceberg,emerges from a sandy bottom at 40m to tower 15m above the oceans surface.
Provides large schools of pelagic's,steep walls,rugged rock formations and an awesome＇vertical chimney'swim through.
⚫︎Chumphon Pinnacles
Chumphon Pinnacles is located 11km to the north west of Koh Tao and is considered by many,as the best dive site in the region.
Made up from one huge granite pinnacle and a series of smaller ones,the pinnacle starts 14m underwater and drops off to over 36m.
Some of the most impressive groupers in the Gulf can be found at this site as well as seasonal visits from large pelagic's such as Whale Sharks and Mantas.
⚫︎Japanese Garden
The pinnacle,located on the east coast of Koh Nangyan,extends to within one metre of the surface and although quite small it is only a short swim across to the main island of Nangyuan.
If you enter the water above the pinnacle you can continue your dive up and down the impressive boulder formations.
The granite boulder formations offer a variety of interesting swim-throughs and numerous tropical reef fish.
⚫︎Green Rock
The site consists of boulder formations that offer an array of safe short tunnels and swim-throughs.
These features make this dive site one of the most fascinathing sites around Koh Tao.
Ideal for the adventurous or novice diver.
Green Rock gives you the chance to see beautiful parrot fish feeding on the main pinnacle close to the surface as well as White Eyed Moray's and Blue Spotted Rays deeper amongst the rocks.
⚫︎Southwest Pinnacles
The site is located about 13km southwest of Koh Tao Island.
It consists of several underwater pinnacles ranging from 5m to 30m deep.
It is a great spot with a good Marine life.
Here you can see Yellow tail Barracudas,Groupers,Leopard Sharks and all the usual Reef fishes of the Gulf of Thailand.
Whale Sharks have already been spotted here too.
