For those who come across the problem of it being all grayed out on each option. just hit "delete volume" then select "new volume' and it will let you format and add a drive letter then it should be working fine!

OK, how to get your computer to see and use an External Hard Drive Docking Station for 3.5 in after you tried all the other fixes! The thing is I bought a cinolink a while ago and it works when nothing else has so i bought another one but that one was just like the others and wouldn't work. Any idea what the Compaies changed in the firmware? Or what I can do out side of buying a new Computer? I've done all the Disk management things and tried looking for driveras but so far it's a bust!

Im hoping someone can help me. I have a external drive that works on my linux pc aswell as other devices such as straight into my tv. It will not come up on my windows 11 machine. Ive tried everything in this video and nothing. the system bleeps to recognise the harddrive being plugged in but no way of actually viewing it, it also has a light on the drive indicating its getting power. Yes the usb ports work. Have tested with other drives. The harddrives formatted to NTFS which i done on the linux machine.

my issue is that my SeaGate external drive is not recognized in disk management and yet the blue light is on and is solid. It also does not display on My Computer. I have tried to connect it to another computer using different usb cable and it still does not recognize that a new device has been plugged in. I have a backup external hard drive, same model and make and plugged it in my computer and it recognized it right a way. Ha this problem once before but forgot how I fixed it. Nope. My Passport Wireless Pro shows up on one laptop and also my phone but is not recognized on my new Dell XPS. Doesn't show in device manager anywhere, doesn't show in disk manager. Downloaded WD SES driver, reset and updated Passport on the working laptop but still nothing happens on the XPS.

My 10Tb MyBook is not seen in Windoze(10 Pro), or drive manager, although it IS seen in Device Manager, and reports working. My NAS reported an error trying to read a small partition on the drive, so I replaced it back into my Windoze PC and deleted the small partition and extended the main partition into it. Now it's not available!?! Can anyone help please? I'm thinking that WD created that small partition for some kind of boot up/launch app.

So, before i can access it will show the volume letter for the encrypted before allowing me to access it. Now it only showing me a volume lick a CD plate and that after several minutes of plug in. So the volume appears and disappear. what can i do to fix this sir?

ok i figured out why mine wasnt showing up even after watching this guide...I was using the Blue USB port 3.0 instead of the Black USB port 2.0....the black one works.

So you have to delete everything on your external drive to have it format correctly on a new windows computer ?

tysm, helped me make out my 500gb hard drive for my retro pc was working so that i can get it alive.
When I right click it only gives me a HELP sign. It wont allow me to do anything else. Any help would be appreciated.
