1969 on the Black Horse Pike driving to Wildwood NJ. in a 1954 Chevy 6 cylinder 6 volt 3 speed Hurst on the floor no less. This incredibly beautiful girl was driving her boyfriend's car to drop off a friend and myself from Philly to a bus stop In Wildwood where we had to make a reefer pick up on our way to Florida. In the dark of the night half blown away from a little too much Gold I glanced over at her driving from the shotgun seat. Her hair that flowed halfway down her back glistened at every street light we past in the night and her silhouette profile had me in a trance. I could not take my eyes off of her. When we arrived in Wildwood I told my friend my heart made a turn. I will never forget the smile on his face. Long story short she did not return to Philly alone. He continued on to Florida then to Colorado where he struck it rich in the Jojoba industry of all things. I bested him though. Three months later I married that girl. This year we celebrated our 49th anniversary. Every time I hear this song I can see her exactly as she was that dark night in Jersey and can see her anytime I want because she is right next to me and always has been. I have never seen her any other way. There is a God because he touched me that night. My friend who also remains to this day from a distance? He is just fine.
