    "state of the art" ESP32 🤣
    A ESP32 isn't cutting edge, but it is the perfect choice for this application, as it doesn't need any sort of specialized flagship capabilities. It's always nice showcasing projects where the electronics are affordable, approachable, and widely adopted.

      You’ll be pleased to know there’s more coming. I filmed this last year but never got round to editing it snd now I’m already rebuilding the box and have got more ideas :)

    I was thinking about how to build such a thing. I stopped because finding solutions to the many tasks and problems in the context of such a project exceeded my available time contingent.
    You having solved these, I would be very interested in the concrete solutions (ESP32 programming, wiring diagrams, products used etc pp). I would pay a small amount for schematics and a larger amount for a plug-and-play kit that I would simply have to fit into an existing small-scale greenhouse.

    • @BalticHomesteaders
      @BalticHomesteaders  5 месяцев назад

      Often the solutions are bespoke albeit there are common elements. Also they need upgrades to firmware/software or tweaks etc. for me obviously it’s easy to change the software but for an end user maybe not. I think if you’d be happy for some sort of handover where you install, commission and maintain then it’s doable for me to build the unit, test and send. It’s a lot of work to produce all the diagrams etc, probably more than producing the unit itself. If you’d like to discuss the idea further then maybe email me (email is in the about us tab) and we can go from there? Thanks.

    That is amazing and would work here in Oklahoma during 4 seasons during the year but in the summer when the outside temperature normally ranges between 85 and 103 degrees. But love this system!

    Those windows low down on the ground seem like a security threat, not against people but pests. You might want to put some chicken wire and a window screen on them. Keep the mice/rats and insects out.
    Edit: IS that an Arudino? Is the sketch available or are you looking to go commercial with this?

    • @BalticHomesteaders
      @BalticHomesteaders  5 месяцев назад

      It’s not Arduino but I did the programming using the Arduino IDE. There’s a little bit of interest in me building units but there’s a lot to consider such as handover, installation/commission and support etc I’d be interested to know what the price point might be to see if it’s viable to take it further.

      Ps we don’t have any rats, the odd mouse, the problem usually is voles as it happens and they burrow under usually.

    Have you thought of publishing wiring diagrams and codebase?

    • @BalticHomesteaders
      @BalticHomesteaders  5 месяцев назад

      Thought about it but not sure either is a) up to scratch b) if it was do I want to share it. Of course opensource has great benefits if the community are willing to contribute and improve upon what I’ve made. Most of what I’ve used is already out there in its parts it’s just that I’ve brought it all together and made it purposeful with a real application. What are your thoughts? I suspect the physical wiring diagram etc is of greater use as the controller could be one of many.

      @@BalticHomesteaders what's the software running on the esp32? Relay control and what those window openers are would be a great start for me

    • @BalticHomesteaders
      @BalticHomesteaders  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@mojonojo3 If you watch some of my other automation videos I go into a lot more details as I'm trying to also figure the stuff out. Yes it's relay control. The window openers are actuators 12v can get in Amazon and it's programmed using the Arduino IDE. Having said all that I'm rebuilding it all this year and will go into more detail about what's happening etc as I have some ideas to improve things based on what I've experienced last year.

    You did a really good job with the entire build & looking back from when you started till now. I have a question do you think about putting a net for bugs on the automated windows & fan so they don't get into the greenhouse.
