Dear Mr. Kipchoge, I can't wait to see what you and your Kenyan team accomplish at the Olympics this year. I started running a while ago and I realised that I liked it, so I kept on running...then I started watching you at the Rio Olympics, the 2018 Berlin Marathon, the Ineos Sub-2 project, the Tokyo Olympics (I could go on!)...I listened to you speak about how no human is limited...and I fell in love with running. I have suffered deep hardships in my life since 2020 and I can honestly say that if it weren't for you, your character, your charisma, your motivation and your nature, I wouldn't still be running today, you are a hero to me and I still tie my shoelaces every day because of you and the motivation I find in your speeches, in the determination you show on every start line and in the humbleness you show at every finish line. Thank you for all you have given me and world of running, the sport wouldn't be the same without you. (I sincerely hope that someone at @KenyanAthleticsTV will be able to pass this message on to you before you depart for Paris 2024) Good luck and godspeed Eliud Kipchoge!
The Kenyan marathon team is stacked with defending Olympic games marathon champions, major marathon champions. All the best to everyone competing in this Olympic Games.
I can only assume (hope?) that there was a moment of mourning/recognition for Kelvin Kiptum before this particular camera started rolling. So young, so much potential for Kenya & the wider world of running...
Thank you for putting prayers 🙏 into your consideration. The goal is not individual of course. There are a few nations who want to take Kenya's crown as the middle and long distance king. I pray for bronze, silver and gold for the women and men in Kenya. 3,2, and 1 in that order of importance can be won. He who takes Kenya to 3 will pull 2 and 2 will pull 1. That is the way you always do it. And that's why yours is the best nation on foot in this world. Bravo...what a fine team!
Brigid is the former world record holder; Tigist Asefa is that world record holder while the world record holder women only is Peris Jipchirchir; that is what counts
Can you imagine all this talent is competing for a two medals, while in track cycling ( completely esoteric sport and a rich nation's sport) 2x6 medals.
It's wild to be named a contest where they are rooting for someone else! Feeling bad for the other 2 guys. If they win, they will be treated as spoilers and if they lose, they just lost! No good scenario.
How did B Kosgei make this team ahead of Jepkosgei and Wanjiru. The men's team is great though Chebet would have been my choice. However Mutiso is always in the frame and never overcommits. Asking for 1,2,3 is a bit greedy but what do the officials know about racing at this level?
Brigid worked well with Peres in last Olympics. I don't understand why Rosemary has been convoked but not selected. She looks so disappointed and sad 😢😢😢
Because they know the next 3 months will be hell, emotionally and physically. It's not a major where if something goes wrong you cancel it and run in a few months. The stress every little pain/soreness must cause when it being an issue means missing the Olympics and maybe everyone's one chance of glory. Iv'e stressed over races that no one even knew I was signed up for because of injuries I was battling now imagine having a whole nation expecting greatness and knowing there is no room for any mistakes in the next 3 months.
1:03 ‘…lead in those issues’ Politicians 😂😂😂😂. The man won Tokyo, a major! He is Gold contender, view him as such. What on earth is ‘lead in those issues? 🤣🤣🤣
yes you are right because 1. kiptum not playing Olympic games 2. kiptum is not part of NN training group 3. kiptum is not sponsored by NIKE 4. Kiptum is not selected by Kenyan athletics 5. He's dead😂 Stop your hope up😂
For men it is 50-50 Lemma, Tola and Bekele are also very strong. For women, Ethiopians would have been stronger with Kebede in third. However the Kenyan 1-2-3 in both races is a joke!

Wow those athletes looked like they were being called up for war. I'd be jumping for joy if I was selected.
You try running 100 miles daily. The man is 35 but he looks 80 😂😢
The Kenyan way is very stoic.
Really can't trust comments on the Internet. Quick Google and found out he is 39 and not 35. @@DimitriTheBarbarian

Didn't Kiplagat have a faster time? After losing his training partner Kiptum.

Everyone making the Olympics is looking so sad. I wonder why.
The amount of training ahead of them? 😂
