Pere Marquette 1225: Freedom Flyer excursion

- On June 15th, 2024 the Steam Railroading Institute based out of Owosso, MI ran a short excursion to Ashley, MI with the Pere Marquette 1225 known as their “Freedom Flyer” and apart of there 2nd annual “Arsenal of Freedom” event. Join us for this short chase as we document the train along its journey

There was a lot of hype around this trip as the NKP 765 was also running the same day, although I did not go see that engine. I hope you all enjoyed the video, and as always have fun and stay safe out there y’all!

My son is special needs and he loves trains 🚆🚇🛤🚞🚝🚊🚉🚈🚅🚄🚃🚋 especially steam locomotives 🚂 like that one! He says that 1225 is and was the Polar Express engine!
I was there!
It would be neat if I made a near 1/2 scale narrow gauge replica of this locomotive. I'm going into drafting and design in college this year, and this might one of my big projects to tackle if I'm fortunate to do so.
