I just love the way Harris’s hawks hurt together like a pack of wolves. This kill was a perfect example of it. The first bird missed and quickly turns around to see the second bird has already caught it. Just beautiful.
Mink man and I have been out hunting together. Great guy! Kinda funny. He was wearing a fur covered whistle..Spice left the rabbit and went after the whistle when she saw it around his neck. Lol. Great adventures!
Congrats on finding something so unique. I’ve worked closely with dogs in my life. I can’t say I understand but I can appreciate the bond and effort required for such an awesome relationship.
Craig Boren false. You are forgetting to account for the time it takes to take care of these birds, the food, the training etc. he probably had a trust fund or made some fantastic moves to be that set already, props.
A buddy of mine caught his first wild bird and trained it when he was 15 and has been hooked since. Before that his dad raised kangaroos. One of them beat me down with boxing gloves on when I was 14,the one ass kicking I'll never forget
John C he uses that makes a facial mask alit of people buy it name of facial mask called falcons best,. lol try some stinks a little but good for the skin I wipe Falcon's Best all over my body.
I have seen Redtails, and folks with Goshawks. First time to see a Falconer using Harris's. Thanks for sharing. I bet they love the mobile perch, that is really cool
Look for the State Club.. Utah Falconers Association.. Both on the web, Facebook and Instagram. Many folks in the State that are happy to help point you in the right direction.
Dont know if I would carry the stick above my head though... Looking at the straps of his vest I thought it wont be long before BAM and they nailed him...
a common problem is the birds not being high enough, with that they easily both have a place to land and can see the rabbit, you can also use it to flush rabbits, the only problem is with both hawks that thing is probably about 10 lbs
You never get tired of falconry. Be it a falconer or an austringer, it's all great. I know how you feel. I first got into falconry in 1959 and through the years, sometimes not being able to keep a bird due to work responsibilities etc., that love never did venture far from me. Now I'm in a position that the necessary time can be invested in the sport to do it justice. I remember hunting redtails on rabbits out of a soar. That was rewarding in itself. The use of an elevated Tee perch as that you use is VERY useful, especially in the brushy areas you hunt. Would be a good method in some of the areas here in Arizona where I live. Really a good concept. I enjoyed watching your cast of Harris' smoke Jacks. That's ALWAYS rewarding! Good job! Keep up the good work!
Always wanted to enter into falconry, unfortunately.... I live in an environment that's not conducive to it. I can only live vicariously through you all, and that's okay too. Beautiful birds and great job!!❤ Sudbury, Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦✌️
Fascinating technique with the pole. If I ever go out west I might try training my Redtails to do that. I have a big 50oz female who would be deadly on Jacks.
This is very amazing,Not everyone would be have patience with birds, rising and training them..This is how hunters used to do very long time ago using birds, dogs or other type of animals...It is great thing when you living close to mountains or forest area, you can associate with those animals..Another thing when you living in large metropolis like LA or New York that is definitely out of questions...
There are a few falconer who hunt in the city of LA. NY too I'm sure. They get paid pretty well for bird abatement. Chasing pigeons away feom places like LAX airport or other area ppl don't want pigeons or other birds. They use them on the coast also to chase away seagulls when filming or around landfills.
I was playing golf and saw a hawk swoop down, grab a jack rabbit, flew about 200 feet in the air and just dropped it. Then it flew down and just starting feasting on it. Most amazing thing to see.
Love the open terrain. One can see every move, twist and turn. Any grouse out there? Novel idea for a paint pole! The hawks know it's the best vantage point for hunting. Harris hawks are smart that way ; ).
This is a fine skill,to some a sport but to others a way of life and means of survival in some parts of the world. Being in touch with our primitive survival skills is very important to me.
Man those birds are in beautiful condition! I mean, of course they are because they are loved and fed and exercised etc, but such wonderful plumage! Gotta love flying killer dinos.
Beautiful music it makes the birds seem more majestic and it has a free flowing feel to it.Very fitting anyone know the name.Great video dude keep it up
I really wish we had rabbits where I live, I live in southwestern oregon and there's a few jacks around but hardly any, tons of cottontails and jacks in eastern oregon however. I've had a couple red-tails but no rabbits and not much tree squirrels to hunt, so none of my birds ever got onto anything. Im glad I started off with a few redtails though, I got a female kestrel here a few weeks ago and I'm really excited to hunt starlings with her, we got plenty of those.
That looks like fun 🤩 id love to experience that , I’ve studied it for years but never actually raised a hawk for hunting yet tho , one day I’ll get er done ! Great vid, thx 🙏
What a sweet deal...i would love to be able to do this. When i was 8yrs old and my older brother was 14 he found a wouded marsh hawk in the woods. He captured it and brought it home. He and my dad fixed the wing up best they could and put some yellow disinfectant spray on it. Build a perch and moved her into our room. That hawk lived in our room for 9months. I would bring her birds from hunting and we fed her lots of raw beef. When she was ready my brother took her out back on his arm with a welding gloove and she lifted off and flew into the evening sky.
Hey I live in payson ut and I really like Falcons and I just thought it was funny that we have like the same liking in things and just where we came from
Hey Craig, I live in West Jordan and would love to learn about falconry from you. I too am in the same boat you were when you first got into falconry and thinking it is so amazing
I got an awesome story of Harris hawks. I was out trapping one time with my apprentice. My sone was in the back seat and goes, dad there’s a Harris flying So we slow down and sure enough there was a Harris flying about 100 ft off the ground. Then i look below and there’s a second bird flying at tree top, 20 feet were in south Texas. All of a sudden the lower one flutters in mid flight to do a quick U turn. As the bird does, the bird 100 feet up rolls over into a perfectly perpendicular stoop to the ground and disappears into the trees. Was fucking amazing
The hawks have him trained really well.
Bro the hawks have that man in there pocket. He will loose his wife and house before the birds go neglected
Hawk 1: wanna get ice cream
Hawk 2: uhh
Hawk 2 is my favorite

If they can handle a bobcat I think theyd be fine vs a hawk tbh theyre pretty damn tough
Sir, a third hawk video has breached the homepage
Congrats on finding something so unique. I’ve worked closely with dogs in my life. I can’t say I understand but I can appreciate the bond and effort required for such an awesome relationship.
When money is secondary you will find lot of things in this world.
What lol this makes him money
Every hobby costs money. This one is no different. Once you have your basic equipment, the only real cost is getting out hunting.

I am from south Texas and we have native Harris Hawks here and they are my favorite raptors.
Does this guy realize he's a modern Jurassic Park raptor trainer?
He's a modern god.
Just a Falconer, who enjoys watching these guys do what they do. Glad they keep coming back.
At first I was confused why you where here. But honestly I understand why. This shit is awesome
Hawk tuah
I love this guy and his storytelling style and just how genuine he is. Thanks for the video and sharing your passion.
One day I’ll get into falconry , I’m 21 years young not ready (financially) but I will be one day and I’ll want to be in the falconry hobby lifestyle!
Make sure you don't get in debt financing worthless things and you'll have the opportunity to do falconry. Best wishes, bud!
Do your research and make sure you know how to take care of them
Follow your dreams❤️
Become assasin and own yr bird bud haha
Rock and Roll!!! Love hunting in Utah, thanks for a great video from an 18yr Harris hawker in Nevada!
IT will never be a dream now because of my health But I always wanted to do this. Awesome video Sir

Falconry is so bad ass what a great relationship between man and bird
Nicely done. I’ve flown HHS since 84. I had one of the first captive bred, and legal for purchase HHS. She kicked ass for many years
Probably the most badass form of hunting!! Amazing!!
Love those Harris Hawks. Such cooperative hunters;rare for a bird of prey.
Love seeing lost art forms like this being brought back to life in its original form
Craig this is awesome! Been wanting to do this for years! Glad to see it can be done in our state! Thanks for showing what's possible.

I'd say you're doin' everything right, Craig Boren. Post production work on this clip was superb. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Bob. Just out having fun! Happy Hawking to you!
Harris Hawks are naturally born to hunt in a pack or pairs. I see them all the time here in Arizona. Great video!!
I have watched them hunt ducklings in Alberta, it's pretty cool but I haven't seen a pair work together.
I never see before this method, with that stick. Very interesting!
Dont know if I would carry the stick above my head though... Looking at the straps of his vest I thought it wont be long before BAM and they nailed him...
