    Thanks for all the vids and keep up the good work! Question: what chemicals do you use when building a new chassis? Sprays, grease, oils, etc.? Discovered the resurgence of mini 4wd after buying my kids a "scan2go" track on Amazon and, I've been on the quest for parts since! Brings me back to 1999/skipping school to go to the local hobby shop that sold parts and held small events. It's crazy how much the 4wd "scene" evolved! Kicking myself for placing my beloved Brocken Gigant Black special in that Balikbayan box years ago.

      The oil I use is Inox. They use it for fishing reels I think.

    Hi Jan, is this (chassis wise, not parts) build still relevant for 2020? If not, what do you think of the more effective new ways that should be implemented/adjust to this kind of build?

    Hi John. I like your video. Can you help me. I'm building my car now.
    Can you share the regulation for brake sloop and or just sloop race. Can you share the dimension too.
    I already try to find out on the internet, but I didn't find anything. It's ok if the reguation from your country, I'll take it.
    (From indonesia)

    • @Z3NBluster
      @Z3NBluster  8 лет назад

      The only brake regulation I know is 1mm brake clearance. Ask the other racers in your area. There are a lot of racers in Indonesia, just ask them where to find the rules on the internet. I don't think you can access the Tamiya USA website.

    • @bianges1
      @bianges1 8 лет назад

      I just know racers that always use super 1 chassis for speed race, but anyway thats fine.

    • @Z3NBluster
      @Z3NBluster  8 лет назад

      +bianges1 It actually doesn't matter what kind of race it is. 1mm brake clearance still applies. Even if the car has no brakes. The rule really means that the lowest part of the car (other than tires) must clear 1mm.

    Hey man, great video! Your MS build style really inspired me for my first build. Your attention to detail makes the result even better.
    One thing that i’m curious about is the way you treat the gear. How do you lube it? What are those spray you are using? Are you using the standard Tamiya lube (little blue tube) as well?
    Need some advice in the best way lubing the gears. Also the gear for the tire shaft. Looking forward for your reply.
    Many thanks!

    heavy mass damper sir

    • @Z3NBluster
      @Z3NBluster  7 лет назад +1

      Sure, but you don't need that much weight.
      Buy the cylinder and bowl shaped mass damper like I have in the video. Heavy mass dampers are really only needed if the cars is very heavy, to counteract the weight of the car. The point of body damper and bumperless is to lower the weight so that you can use less mass dampers.

    Hi John. Great video. I like the way you created different segments for easy reference. I'm getting into Mini 4WD again and I'm about to build one based on what you made here. I've noticed that a lot of racers now don't use one-way wheels. Is it not recommended? Also, I'm based in the Philippines and I don't see CRC from the stores here. Will WD40 work as well? Thank you in advance and I hope you do more videos.

    • @Z3NBluster
      @Z3NBluster  8 лет назад +1

      One way wheels are slow, heavy, and have moving parts that are likely to break. CRC is a degreaser, look for an RC motor cleaning spray. Never Ever Use WD-40 for anything.

    Hi, Is it ok for official races to have your chassis and other parts customly cut off? Shouldnt all the parts used be kept in the original condition? Also what is the The highest official race class called?I d like to get back into mini 4wd in the fastest races around the world but id like some guidance in What Chassis do the fastest cars use? what about the upper body(Car name)? thanks for your answers

    • @Z3NBluster
      @Z3NBluster  7 лет назад

      Rudolf Behm Since I'm going to answer them in the order you asked them. 1. Yes 2. There are official rules for Tamiya Mini 4WD and they Do Not say anything about not being allowed to cut or trim parts. 3. In the Japan Cup, the most popular class is called Open Class. Which follows only the Original Tamiya Rules. 4. VS Chassis is the winningest chassis in the Japan Cup. 5. It doesn't matter what body you use as long as it is a Poly Carbonate Body. 6. There is no such thing as best Motor (They are not called engines). The fastest motor with the allowed normal batteries is Jet Dash.

      Z3N Bluster Thank you, In Italy i ve read the MS L is the most used chassis so im confused to which to use now. are the MS L Evo or the VS Evo worth buying to build a fast car? it s been 19 years since i raced a mini 4wd even tho i still have the car set up on a super 1 chassis. Would you have any suggestion to which car/chassis to buy and maybe some sort of checklist of items to buy to install and start experimenting please?if im not asking too much.

    • @Z3NBluster
      @Z3NBluster  7 лет назад

      You don't have to buy MS Evo for it to be fast, it's all about the setup. Build Super 2 it's easy to use for setup and it will be competitive. You can watch my other car feature videos. Look for the All Carbon Astute video. That's a good setup.

    • @Z3NBluster

      Rowence Manansala Puwede. But that defeats the purpose of having Body Damper. Using poly carbonate bodies is for losing weight. When you use normal ABS bodies, you don't lose any weight on the car.

    • @Z3NBluster
      @Z3NBluster  8 лет назад +1

      +hernawan eduwardus Only in rare cases you will need different diameter wheel and tire front and back. Generally you want them to be the same. If they differ too much like 26mm dia front and 26.4mm dia back, then your front roller angle would be bigger than normal. This car is 26.1mm dia front and back.
