I did not use the term 'monosynth' properly here. It does not refer to stereo output but only being able to play one note at a time. It can play 1, 4 or 8 depending on how it is configured.

the cables on these break really easy that is why people probably complain they don't work. They probably have one cable broken so they get in or out but not in AND out. Also for some larger dumps they probably don't buffer stuff properly (people sending really large dumps from samplers complain about this). I think the delay in refreshing screen is a windows problem cuz i had that on one version of windows I tried (probably win 7 or 10) and I was always using top quality cables and roland interfaces. I don't think it is the cable, it is likely something wrong with windows10 compatibility layer for 32 bit software cuz it it no where near as reliable as it should be, but as you say, it still works regardless.

Have you tried making a memory cartridge? Thank you 🤓

I haven’t needed to as I have some that come with keyboards I have bought. If you were going to clone it, cloning one of the aftermarket ones with 4 banks would be better, those can hold bigger batteries so wouldn’t need to change the cr2016 every 12 months.

Just make sure cables aren’t broken. Even for a cz a big dump is tiny compared to sample data.
