I love Steve. It's fun when you play as him for that brief moment during Code Veronica. The problem with Steve is I felt Capcom sort of threw him under the bus on purpose just to get people to laugh and talk about him. They picked THE worst voice actor and gave him such cheesy dialogue. If they tweak the character a bit in the remake he will be an amazing RE protagonist. He sort of looks like Leon's little brother too.
@@LeadMe2TheBliss the voice actor wasn't even that bad, it was mainly the dialogue. there were some lines from him that were fine, just most of the lines were so bad nobody could make them sound good.
Steve acts like an anime character from one of those over-the-top, clichéd and unrealistic high school animes. The voice actor isn't bad, but the voice _direction_ sure is. Nobody sounds like this in real life. Same goes for a lot of early/middle Resident Evil games. Claire doesn't exactly sound like a real person, either.
@@seakhajiit That’s exactly what I’m thinking. Maybe the remake still has sparse ammo like the original, but implements the RE4 stealth mechanics so you can kill the zombies without wasting ammo.
they could make claire look like she should have looked in re2 remake, instead of making her look like a completely different person. in those animated re movies claire looks like she should in a more modern re game, but for whatever reason they want to completely change the look of these characters. jill looks some random crackhead in re3 remake. they should being in the guys who do character design for the animated movies, they have a much better understanding of what these characters should look like. i won't be at all surprised if they make her look even worse than in re2 remake. thankfully for me i don't care about these remakes in the slightest. if they made them like re1 remake i would, but they completely lose the feel of the originals when they do this 3rd person shooter thing. that's probably why re4 remake is the only one that managed to keep the general feel of the original for me.
The thing is just, it empathizes on the crossdressing and not the freak part. He was a freak all his life. Incestual, morbid, cruel psychopath long before he became a split personality. He and his sister celebrated ripping off wings of dragon flies! She could call him an incestual freak, and no one would object.
i actually like his character, very flawed, very troubled, you can clearly tell he suffered, im sure we all can relate a bit, the real question would be, what if steve was real, would anyone give a fuck and try to give him a hand? or kick him while he is down? its easy to judge and thats what people do, always the easy way out, always looking for shortcuts, "loosing weight the fastest way" or "making easy money" try do the hard thing for once, and give a second chance to someone who fucked up. or better yet, learn how to forgive because life aint got shortcuts without consequences.
They actually did in Darkside Chronicles technically. Steves character was definitely a lot better there. Hopefully the same will happen once the Code Veronica remake comes around too.
Technically there were fights, the player just had no hand in them. Claire vs Wesker: winner: Wesker, Claire was lucky he was called away before he finished her off. Chris vs Wesker 1: winner: Wesker, but Alexia distracted him before he could finish off his rival. Chris vs Wesker 2: winner: Chris, as Wesker said :"Today is your lucky day. Next time we meet, don't count on another." while the Antarctic base was nearing self-destruction.
The idea of having a boss fight with wesker is really good, Chris seeing wesker is alive will shock him and fill him with despair seeing how inhumanly strong he became well be pretty damn good imo.
In the remake of RE5 they could have a scene showing what remains of Steve even if its like a frozen corpse with a label. Chris wouldnt know him but we would
Yeah, Capcom made a trailer for Dead Rising and called Dead Rising Deluxe Remastered, and Capcom is not revealing anyone, so no leaks and rumors about Capcom games or face Capcom wrath.
There are two biggest changes I hope will happen in the Code Veronica remake. One make Steve Burnside a better likeable character and not a badly whiny little creep (it has been done in Darkside Chronicles so not impossible to do). Two have an actual fight with Wesker in the finale. A boss fight instead of a cutscene would be pretty epic and even better if both Chris and Claire fought him.
Have you seen the movies "Boot Camp" (which has a few coincidental similarities to Code Veronica) and "Small Soldiers"? I think that Gregory Smith's performances in those two movies would serve as a good template for a realistic and less annoying version of Steve, hell he'd even make the perfect face model.
12:32 That could be an issue. Part of the horror of Alfred is the fact he truly believes he is his sister too. It's show how degraded his mind is. It's a different type of horror a mind horror. I like it but Capcom maybe could not put that in the game under the risk of being accused of transphobic or some bs like that. Although it's not a gender thing and it's a split personality, until explain that to some touchy woke person they already created their histeric show and canceled the game. It's a shame we can't create videogames with some complicated plots like that because a bunch of loudly kids complaining in the internet. Man I miss the old 90's!
Thank you for this excellent video bro and I strongly agree with your list. I would also add playing as Wesker when we fight Alexia’s first form just to truly get real joy being Wesker at his strongest
I agree with everything! They can make this golden if the show the same love and care as in RE2 and RE4! If code Veronica gets the re3 remake treatment I'm gonna be so disappointed
Yeah, it's going to happen if someone is trying to have ideas that Capcom will change ideas of someone making little and confusing puzzles and having a longer backtracking.
I agree with these takes. About Steve though I don't mind some of the things that make him unlikeable such as being immature since he's just a 17 year old boy and I think it makes sense for him to be that way but they definitely need to remove the parts where he's being creepy towards Claire. Also I think it would be interesting if there was a timed Wesker boss fight with Claire instead of Chris when the two first meet. It's obvious that Claire wouldn't be able to beat him since Wesker is basically superhuman and that's why I think a timed boss would be interesting, where you just need to survive. Also as annoying as the backtracking was I think changing the outdated and weird dialogue is more important to me. Great video though I really liked it
While I do agree on some of your points, I disagree on some of them as well I think Steve is fine as it is, changing his character would not do him good because it will change who he is and what he meant to be We don't need a Wesker boss fight, this game is not about Albert, it about Alexia in the end And while I'm all in for an Alford boss, definitely by not him taking the V-virus
Yeah no fight with Wesker he only wants the T.V-virus not having a fight it's a story fight not game boss fight. So that go to the real fights from the bosses you face not Wesker.
12:26 please, the guy was already a full on psycho with no redeemable qualities of his own even before he started acting and dressing as Alexia. Removing and/or sanitizing his obsession for Alexia and how this has affected him would turn him into a bland, boring and not that shocking version of himself
I knew you'd bring up that line. No, we dont need to change the "cross dressing freak" line because it might hurt some cross dressing twitter freak's feelings. The woke and easily offended audience never buy anything. There's zero reason to capitulate to them when they are far from the majority and again, they don't buy or support things. Now with the remakes, they've been going in chronological order. So I wonder if they'll change the timeline of events so CV takes place between RE4 and RE5. That would be interesting to see. But I don't know if Capcom would make such a drastic change.
I definitely agree with you 100% they need to remake code Veronica it's been over a decade I just hope they still keep the worm fight when you're playing as Chris/Claire
As always, I hope this remake would be horror-focused. So if there's a way to make the Wesker fight with slow tension that gives you that panicked feeling when you try to hit him, I think that would work best. I'm thinking kind of a stealth and tag thing like David in The Last of Us. This also works lore-wise. Chris hadn't seen Wesker's power before this point, so him being intimidated like "What the fuck?! There's no way to get by him" is a reasonable response. But then by the end of the game Chris is a little more ready to confront him. Then, several years go by, Lost in Nightmares happens, and soon enough, he turns into bolder-punching beefcake that we all know and love
I hope they turn Steve more likable(i can't stand that character in the Original Code Veronica),less chances of soft lock,an even better Battle Game, more better Boss fights, less annoying moth corridor and more screen time for Alexia and Wesker.
In a remake, Alfred’s split personality could be a part of Alexia’s literal consciousness that she implanted into him. Something similar happens in REvelations 2, so it’s not impossible within the RE universe. Maybe as a way to keep tabs on Alfred? Or maybe this consciousness can be reabsorbed upon awakening, so she’d have some knowledge of what’s transpired the last 15 years? Could be an easy work around-and doing something like this fits with Alexia’s character.
I disagree with #3 he's an enemy, so calling him what he is, isn't a bad thing. I do hope they don't use the remake face design for claire, you know it's a bad model if in the death island movie they use the OG claire model.
Steve doesn't matter for me. I want the the Claire Booty Moment like in Darkside Chronicles😂. And a DLC is very Important. I thin every Remake need it. Maybe as Wesker how he fights against Alexia.
I think obviously what we need to see is more of the backstory and family dynamics between Alfred, Edward, and Alexia Ashford. Maybe peer into Alfred’s madness and obsession with his sister. Obviously, this will be the first game in which we see both Chris and Claire together and that’s kind of a rare site in the resident evil world so development with both characters would be great. Some insight into what Wesker was doing post raccoon city and his plans moving forward would be nice to see as well.
i have not played code veronica yet, simply because i personally find it to be a little too difficult for my liking. that‘s also the main reason why a remake is highly anticipated. i NEED to play this game.
I love backtracking. I hope it will be part of the remake. New keys/items leading to new areas will always be rewarding. Especially when finding new weapons.
Code Veronica would be the perfect game to remake! Not only could you change a few things for the better, but its potential could be fully realized with a more modern update! The backtracking being sorted would be great I never understood why Rockfort island is just a little bit on fire after the self destruct lmao
What would be cool. If Alfred became a stalker character like Jack Baker or Mr X, and after either several minutes or taking enough damage, he will run off and return dressed as Alexia and and stalks you as her.
I love resident evil games and I can enjoy a challenge. At the same time I prefer to play a game for the story first, then going through a second or third time for the hardcore modes. So difficulty settings would be highly appreciated. I've never played CV and yet I hear so much good about it I would love to get my hands on a remake.
The MAIN thing Code Veronica needs to change in the remake is the dynamic between claire and Steve. The ORIGINAL GAME was actually primarily about this Claire Steve dynamic and NOT ABOUT Claire and Chris reuniting (perhaps one of the biggest misconceptions in gaming I have seen). In the remake, the Claire Steve dynamic needs to be more concrete instead of ambiguous. Next, in the remake timeline, claire CAN NOT MENTALLY BREAK after losing Steve, like she did in the original. This is because remake Claire is built as mentally mouch tougher than OG Claire, so remake claire is not supposed to be someone who mentally breaks after losing steve. However, if they have to go this route of claire mentally breaking after losing Steve, then remake Claire has to kill steve herself, and be compelled to do so. This is THE ONLY THING I will focus on mainly.
I like this idea. She has to finish him as the virus is going unstable after being struck. Then it just hits sooo much harder with Wesker literally taunting and flirting with the idea of reviving Steve.
@@CdogofNod1 The point of that is to mentally BREAK Claire Redfield. She has to kill him, AFTER Steve and Claire start meaning the world to each other. If it was me, I would have either Alfred or Alexia orchestrate this, something like the Joker would do. "Save your brother, or save someone you have started to love. Your blood, or your heart." Something evil like that, Alfred or Alexia should say. Also, if you haven't watched my Claire videos, I implore you to watch what the actual story with Claire Redfield is that everyone missed.
They need to stop changing things because they are afraid to offend someone....their dialogue is part of them as a character....it's not real it's only a game!!!!!!
3:25 I think you misunderstood that part of the story. Claire got sent to Rockfort Island for looking for her brother invading the paris facility, but then learned about her brother's location through Steve mentioning Chris being put under surveillance. I mean, they can write it better for sure, but I wanted to clarify your misconception.
I just hope they dont do a remake resembling re3!!! Cutting things short and rushing it. They have time now. I ve never played RE: CV so i want the full enhanced experience ❤
@NerdSpaceGames yeah but imagine hypothetically in the future if swearing was considered non PC and you were watching die hard and they had to change the iconic yippie ki yay line... you'd think that was dumb (it happened in part 4 and yes we were all mad) but because someone was offended somewhere it had to change... that was one of Claire's most iconic alpha lines in any of the games she's in
@NerdSpaceGames or what if they remade "predator" and during the iconic handshake scene he says "dillon you son of a gun! " because the B word is derogatory towards women and who knows in the future if that will be considered a word that's allowed to be used for that reason... I say leave the line in the game... but inevitably they will change it no matter how much I b**** and moan lol
I think I know the line you're talking about, and the localisation actually changed the line themselves for like- no real reason.. I think it was initially "Alfred! So he's behind all this!"
Did they tone down the difficulty for Code: Veronica X? I just finished it and I didn't think it was that bad overall, finished with almost 50 grenade rounds
Let's not forget that Steve was a 17 year old teenager... His childish and creepy acts make sense due to his puberty and age...but I am not against changing some aspects of him...
@@NerdSpaceGamesI think the problem isn't his character per se, but that he comes across as a parody. If they dial it down a little, I think it would work.
Doesn’t matter if a game needs a Remake or not. Just Remake everything and if you don’t want to buy them, don’t. I want to replay them all with modern visuals and gameplay.
Tbh I've never understood the problem with difficulty lvl or backtracking. I'd beat the game numerous times with first try and I really like backtracking overall, and the locations in CV, so maybe that's why I just don't get it. As for Steve... I have kinda love-hate relationship with him XD. I can see big potential in him, seriously, for me he can be as charming as Leon. He's really young there, he can be kinda childlish, scared, sad etc. But damn, I don't know what capcom was thinking writing his dialogues in CV... He has potential to be cheesy charming and cutely naive - that's what I take Capcom was planning to do with him, but it turn out as usual and he ended up being cringe and creep xd. I agree with difficulty lvls, it'll be nice i they do it like in RE2Remake. And I would love to have some good fight with Wesker. There's never enough of Wesker in Resident Evil.
In Steve's defense his family and him were held captive so of course he would be kind of stand off and pissed. Anyways Steve isn't the worst character imo there's still ada😒 . I would like to see a boss fight with steve
Easter Egg Idea for RE CVX Remake: The Gravestones in the Graveyard that you first walk into have names of other characters from Other Horror Games and Movies or the Original Voice Actors from the original RE games.
I like the idea of Claire, Chris, Jill, and Leon all working together. Claire infiltrates the Paris lab on orders. When she gets captured, she lies to Umbrella to make it seem like she still didn’t know his whereabouts. After capture, she reached out to Leon to let the “team” know she’s been captured.
I just want movement to be better. Tbh that's what really kept me from playing more of it also I think there was a glitch that made me start over but movement kept getting me bit
Actually, Umbrella was keeping tabs on Chris. In the same scene, Steve told Claire that Umbrella was monitoring Chris, that's how she knows the location, lol. Personally, I like revisiting past area so backtracking isn't that big of an issue for me but I don't mind slightly less backtracking as long as the game isn't too linear like re3 remake and re4 remake. Everything else I agree with 100%. Great video.😎👍
Super easy fix to the whole solution is really to have Umbrella whose keepin tabs on Chris to let it "slip" they have Claire in order to trap him at Rockford Island and dispose of him in secret all loose ends tied up with small dialogue changes
I was just gonna say the same thing re: Chris. So many people say this is a plot hole and I was starting to think I was just crazy or misremembering lol. That being said since so many people missed it they definitely do need to change how that story beat plays out regardless.
You overlooked something, Umbrella were tracking Chris’s movements, Claire found this information on the computer and that is what she sent to Leon. There is no issue there to be fixed, she couldn’t have done this first because she didn’t have that information.
Half the stuff you mentioned like Steve being likable and an Alfred boss fight is what we definitely need in the remake. What I would like to see is Rockfort Island being more spread out and having options to get around zombies without wasting ammo. They should also make it to where Clair, Steve, and Chris use maintenance tunnels to move around the island. Also, they should make the Antarctic base more of a challenge like trying to survive in cold areas while trying to stay warm.
I wish we could leave items where we want so I could collect it later instead heading straight for the storage box. Also Capcom needs to stop with the whole portable gigantic storage space and no merchants. Ever since the release of resident evil 4 original, Capcom only copy and paste everything from re 4 with their future games. The only exceptions were 7 and 8 and only games like re 4 fans hate the global success it got. But I for one am not a hater of either 4 original nor the remakes. Except for 5, 6 and the remake of 4. The only probs I have with the remakes of 2 and 3, is the pitch dark lighting. Like who or what has problem with the main circuit or generator? Zombies climbing up? Lickers? The police? Or maybe it was criminals running loose but why would they do that?
Well, we have to put some things in context. Steve is just a teenager in this game. Although Claire is also almost a teenager (she is 21) she is way more mature than Steve because the raccoon city experiences. I think they can go in a way like Steve not being a teenager anymore, maybe like 19 at minimum. A little hot headed and a little immature young man. And so Claire starts to connect with him because well, that's how Claire is. She did that with Moira in Rev2, she did that with that little girl in the airport movie. She is a very kind person and she can help Steve go through the experience of a zombie apocalypse in the island and antarctic facility. And then they can go to a way to develop some kind of romance between them. I think it's a simple plot, but if well made it can really work.
I was one of the people who ragequit the game. In particular once we got to Chris. I was already thinking we were near the end of the game by the time we play as Chris. Either the game should be shorter but harder (with difficulty settings) or keep everything, but separate the campaigns. One for Claire, one for Chris and perhaps a DLC campaign for Steve. I wouldn't want them to cut out content like the RE3 Remake though, which is why it might be best just to split the characters into different campaigns with different areas. The island for Claire, the base for Chris, etc. The transition from Claire to Chris in the original is just too jarring to be something they should keep as is. They were obviously going for a spin on the first two games with different scenarios and/or endings (in particular RE2), but the problem was they overlayed them on top of one another which was just too much JMO.
There one I wanted for Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake, and that is "Post Game Rewards" from our experience of resident evil game over the years, whenever we beat the game, we unlock rewards for our effort, like from OG > Duel Shock to REmake Resident Evil 1we unlock Infinite ammo, and yes I know other challenge from the remake, then on Resident Evil 2 only 3 weapons we get infinite ammo, Submachine Gun, Gatling Gun, and Rocket Launcher, and 2 mini games, and on Resident Evil 3 we get mini game to get funds to unlock guns and infinite ammo.
They should keep the lines of Claire saying "cross dressing freaks! " Because it'll keep the original iconic lines also slap to reality for certain group of people.
I forgot to mention that in this video, but I agree. Steve is MUCH more bearable in Darkside tbh which proves, in a remake, he could be a great character that could get the Carlos Oliveira treatment
#9 isn't a contradiction. Someone else probably mentioned it by now, but: Claire finds Steve looking at an Umbrella file on Chris. She found out where he was BECAUSE Umbrella was monitoring him. She then contacts Leon, so that he can reach Chris with the information she found.
yeah someone mentioned it. I missed that, but I do think that's something that should be changed a bit to make it more recognizable because the way it was worded and delivered made it seem like she knew Leon could reach him.
I guarantee there making code Veronica with operation Javier dlc it's what we wouldn't expect so they will make it happen and both scenarios are connected the Veronica virus
I hope they build on Alexia’s character in this game, really the spotlight should be on her. It’s only told to us in Wesker’s report and REmake that Birkin had a rivalry with a young Alexia.
Loved this video, definitely gave you a subscribe. I don’t really care to see Alfred transform, as him being one of the few villains to die human. A shootout would be just fine in my opinion. As for the cringe with Alfred and Steve, I definitely trust the devs after their handling of Ashley and Luis in RE4 remake. Bringing out the positive traits of those OG characters was brilliantly handled.
The original game had too much backtracking, which was its biggest flaw in my opinion. The second one, I agree with you, has too short a gameplay section for Steve.
thanks for the amazing video. my opinion on the changes you mentioned: Rodrigo: I agree Calling chris: that scene didn't make any sense. its better if claire herself finds some umbrella investigation files about chris on that computer and somehow send him a message or at least send barry a message someone who makes more sense to know where chris is. Steve: I just hate him and I don't want to play as him. Alfred: I agree. claire vs alfred, chris vs alexia fights should be more memorable. game's main theme is about good sibling vs bad siblings. More puzzles: no, I think CV has enough puzzles. its well balanced in that regard. more puzzles ruins replay value for me, especially if they are annoying and time consuming. Difficulty: I agree Likable steve: ... Dialogue: needs a complete overhaul. Wesker: just controlling chris in the final duel and punching wesker once or twice is enough for me. I prefer to leave wesker for RE5. in RE5 I want to punch him to death. Backtracking: no, backtracking is the most important part of games like RE or darksouls. I love the idea of having some inaccessible areas with claire and after the explosion we can go there as chris. it needs some changes though like removing the shared chest and each character find their own items and weapons. one thing I want to add is to remove that FPS part of the final boss. worst boss fight in history of gaming for me.
I dont think Claire needs to not call Alfred a “cross-dressing freak”. That line can still be in the game. If anything they should keep all of those lines in and workshop them to be implemented in a more skillful way. Get rid of the line and next thing they will be asking that Alfred change his entire character to fit “modern sensibilities”.
@@johnk.2167 or just keep it the same lol I’m all for that too. I’m just playing fair to give them a chance to improve the dialogue structure is all lmao
I would love to see alternate scenario modes. A segment were you are Alex Ashford descending into Alexia copycat madness releasing B.O.W's and ending at Alexias feet. Another I hope the knife remains UNBREAKABLE to respect the original knife w maybe a random comment about how her knife skills are legendary or something. Lastly I see the Tyrant being released as a pursuer on Rockford Island as he was such a last second thought in the game so he could be better utilized.
I never did beat the original game growing up but I did love playing it, the resource management was the biggest pain in the ass cuz of the very limited inventory space
🖐 Steve fan here 🖐 When this game came out, I was the same age as Claire, and honestly, Steve just reminded me of every 17 year old boy ever 😂 The book gives a lot more back story on him and as a adult now I see a traumatised 17year old boy trying to work through things his brain is not developed to deal with and as such I just want to hug him. Poor little baby ❤
@@johnk.2167 i wouldn't change the cheesiness of re1 or re2 but code veronica isn't just fun and tongue-in-cheek kinda cheesy its just outright badly written. it honestly sounds like they couldn't meet the deadline for the dialogue when making the game so they had to rush it and use rough drafts. combined with the less than ideal voice acting, code veronica's cutscenes feel like a cheap cartoon at times
Definitely some work cut out for this one. But I'm sure it can be done. As mentioned here, giving Rodrigo a slightly bigger role, toning down the dialogue (which is kinda what these early game remakes have being doing anyway), make Steve a more bearable character and maybe add more to the Ashford family. I think Darkside Chronicles did manage to do that to some degree, but this is gonna be a much bigger undertaking. But hey, Capcom's been hitting good so far (with the exception of 3, but even that had some improvements). So, I'm curious to what they will do here and RE0 if that's the next one they end up remaking.
Yeah that's not how Capcom rolls their going to redesign Claire and everyone don't be selfish on demands. So they can be comfortable clothes and no tight clothes that uncomfortable for the players itself.
They could get rid of the weird cross dressing part of the game and just have it as Alexa has disappeared, Alfred has his house has a shrine to her so keeping it similar to the OG, then to stop Claire instead of sending a random tyrant after her he uses the T Veronica virus himself
You have to rember that Steve is literally only 17 years old he acts his age
I love Steve. It's fun when you play as him for that brief moment during Code Veronica. The problem with Steve is I felt Capcom sort of threw him under the bus on purpose just to get people to laugh and talk about him. They picked THE worst voice actor and gave him such cheesy dialogue. If they tweak the character a bit in the remake he will be an amazing RE protagonist. He sort of looks like Leon's little brother too.
I was 15 when that game came out and I found him extremely annoying! I was 15!

Claire's infiltration of the umbrella facility in the beginning could be a playable intro segment.

Claire was right Alfred is a cross-dressing freak he was a great character though
The thing is just, it empathizes on the crossdressing and not the freak part. He was a freak all his life. Incestual, morbid, cruel psychopath long before he became a split personality. He and his sister celebrated ripping off wings of dragon flies!
She could call him an incestual freak, and no one would object.

Not really a challenge when Darkside Chronicles exists
I’ve been saying this for years Veronica is so underrated and needs remaking imo it has some of the best puzzles in the RE franchise
It's quintessential RE. The music, atmosphere, campy tone, level design, and classic characters all make this a must to remake
I don’t think every character needs to be likable it’s good to have character you can’t stand and does some questionable things
Steve Burnside 100% looked and sounded his best in The Darkside Chronicles game 👍🏻
Rodrigo should have a side mode in the remake where it shows what happened to him before code v
That would be cool! DLC maybe?
Like the tape DLC in 7!
@seakhajiit yeah that would be awesome
As he's a wounded black man who helped Claire in the original, he could be Remake Marvin 2.0.
Chris would know the name though so it would be cool to see him piece that together
@@cheesal He could also be brought back as a B.O.W controlled with one of those devices like Jill
@@ArrancarfighterOfficial that's a fantastic idea! That would be wild!
Oh please a Remake of Resident Evil 5 is the last thing we need right now.
Taking out Alfred before he sees his sister makes no sense, maybe his sister can infect him as he’s dying.
I Think same thing.
The Darkside Chronicles addressed #7 , 4 and 3 so the remake can use those for a foundation.
12:32
That could be an issue.
Modern Capcom would double down on the Alfrexia and have Claire and Steve say how stunning and brave they/them are.
Thank you for this excellent video bro and I strongly agree with your list. I would also add playing as Wesker when we fight Alexia’s first form just to truly get real joy being Wesker at his strongest
Wesker and Chris will be the highlight of this game.
I don't care much about the rest.
A rivalry that is to be anticipated ever since RE5
I would love to see Alfred being a stalker enemy throughout part of the game. Him chasing Claire whilst shooting at her would be awesome!
Like nemisis in that first person and third person perspective in og RE3 in that one segment.
I feel like that would fit a little with the direction DSC went, portraying him as more 'scarily' deranged, if that makes sense?
I agree with everything! They can make this golden if the show the same love and care as in RE2 and RE4! If code Veronica gets the re3 remake treatment I'm gonna be so disappointed
Yeah, it's going to happen if someone is trying to have ideas that Capcom will change ideas of someone making little and confusing puzzles and having a longer backtracking.
Fingers crossed for a remake and that they don't shorten it. Great vid man
I agree with these takes. Great video though I really liked it
While I do agree on some of your points, I disagree on some of them as well
I think Steve is fine as it is, changing his character would not do him good because it will change who he is and what he meant to be
We don't need a Wesker boss fight, this game is not about Albert, it about Alexia in the end
And while I'm all in for an Alford boss, definitely by not him taking the V-virus
Yeah no fight with Wesker he only wants the T.V-virus not having a fight it's a story fight not game boss fight. So that go to the real fights from the bosses you face not Wesker.
@@Twilight17Petkoton How about a Wesker DLC where you play Wesker through the events (think gameplay like Joe Baker, just straight fun)
@@CdogofNod1No only in the Mercenaries mini game of Resident Evil games besides CV that it.
Perfect timing. this should be great.
Tension-filled cat and mouse fight. With Empire Strikes Back vibes -Luke vs Vader - but with less lightsabers 😂
I hope they turn Steve more likable(i can't stand that character in the Original Code Veronica),less chances of soft lock,an even better Battle Game, more better Boss fights, less annoying moth corridor and more screen time for Alexia and Wesker.
there is literally only 1 way to softlock and that is by overwritting your save data.
If Steve is likeable it could be like Luis where I’m actually really upset about his death
Not really, because Capcom will redesign characters that are comfortable and movement that doesn't need to be tight.
They should change their outfit to winter dress when the story transitions to the Antarctic.
i have not played code veronica yet, simply because i personally find it to be a little too difficult for my liking. that‘s also the main reason why a remake is highly anticipated. i NEED to play this game.
Hell yea! I really want a Code Veronica remake. Looking forward to this video (:
I love backtracking. I hope it will be part of the remake. New keys/items leading to new areas will always be rewarding. Especially when finding new weapons.
You get it! All the backtracking in Code: Veronica was rewarding on your playthrough!!
Your blood, or your heart."
Something evil like that, Alfred or Alexia should say.
Also, if you haven't watched my Claire videos, I implore you to watch what the actual story with Claire Redfield is that everyone missed.
They need to stop changing things because they are afraid to offend someone....their dialogue is part of them as a character....it's not real it's only a game!!!!!!
I don’t think quote would make or break the character though. They could do without it tbh, it’s not that important to the story
Not 100% sure, but I think the Darkside chronicles actually had Leon mention using some government resources to track down Chris.
It’ll be incredible!!!
Yeah, Capcom will be doing that having a vs match and making little puzzles and longer backtracking.
Oh no how dare Claire be non politically correct when cursing out the guy who's trying to kill her! Shame on her
just saying it's a video game. it's not that difficult to change the line. That's all lol
@@NerdSpaceGames Then there's no need to change it since it is so minor and enabling mental illnesses is bad. Shameful.
I get that but some of the decisions for his character imo were to far
You must have been a horrible teenager
The bossfights against both Ashford Twins and Steve have been made in the darkside chronicels. So they have to Remake those Boss fights.
Yup. I agree with everything you said!
I love Steve Burnside. He is like Leon's unique little brother.
If they change Alfred's Lil Wayne laugh, I'll riot.
lol i definitely don't want that changed! That laugh is legendary!!!
Nice thanks for the feedback!
@@NerdSpaceGames no problem
@@WillowMoonlight555 agreed.
I love code veronica ♥️ Thanks for this video. Hope we get a good code veronica version soon 😊
19, not 21.
Bro this is gonna be awesome
They should keep the lines of Claire saying "cross dressing freaks! " Because it'll keep the original iconic lines also slap to reality for certain group of people.
The way Capcom revamped and rewrote Steve in The Darkside Chronicles was really solid.
I forgot to mention that in this video, but I agree. Steve is MUCH more bearable in Darkside tbh which proves, in a remake, he could be a great character that could get the Carlos Oliveira treatment
As a Resident Evil Veteran since 02, I always start on the hardest difficulty now, I did with all the remakes too
#9 isn't a contradiction. Someone else probably mentioned it by now, but:
Claire finds Steve looking at an Umbrella file on Chris.
No,know its been done to death, but i want a punish Steve mode,we need justice, the world needs justice
I hope they build on Alexia’s character in this game, really the spotlight should be on her. It’s only told to us in Wesker’s report and REmake that Birkin had a rivalry with a young Alexia.
Can't wait for the remake for Code Veronica 🙂 next Dino crisis please 😭
Love the dialogs in this game. For e everyone trying to find something you, the problem is with you!
Great video
Just keep everything and add a bunch of cooler shit. That’s how you do a remake
I would also add a steve boss fight, in the original you can't fight him, you just have to run away from him
CAPCOM, I WANT REMAKE RE CODE VERONICA ❤❤❤ I LOVE YOU MUSE CLAIRE REDFIELD ❤❤❤❤
#REMAKECODEVERONICA
I wonder what defensive option RE code Veronica would have, R3MAKE had the roll, RE4 had the parry.
Maybe a bit of both?
I didn't even think of that. OG Re3 also had a dodge, maybe a mix of 1 and 2's remakes defensive weapons?
@@seakhajiit or maybe like Claire has a dodge roll while Chris and Steve (possibly) have a parry
The second one, I agree with you, has too short a gameplay section for Steve.
thanks for the amazing video. my opinion on the changes you mentioned:
Rodrigo: I agree
Calling chris: that scene didn't make any sense. its better if claire herself finds some umbrella investigation files about chris on that computer and somehow send him a message or at least send barry a message someone who makes more sense to know where chris is.
Difficulty: I agree
Likable steve: ...
I want to see Claire have a hand in taking down Alexia like in Darkside Chronicles.
Or just keep it the same lol
@@johnk.2167 or just keep it the same lol I’m all for that too. I’m just playing fair to give them a chance to improve the dialogue structure is all lmao
I would love to see alternate scenario modes. A segment were you are Alex Ashford descending into Alexia copycat madness releasing B.O.W's and ending at Alexias feet. Another I hope the knife remains UNBREAKABLE to respect the original knife w maybe a random comment about how her knife skills are legendary or something. Lastly I see the Tyrant being released as a pursuer on Rockford Island as he was such a last second thought in the game so he could be better utilized.
i wish they making a wesker seperate ways dlc to wehre you play wiht wesker
I never did beat the original game growing up but I did love playing it, the resource management was the biggest pain in the ass cuz of the very limited inventory space
🖐 Steve fan here 🖐 When this game came out, I was the same age as Claire, and honestly, Steve just reminded me of every 17 year old boy ever 😂 The book gives a lot more back story on him and as a adult now I see a traumatised 17year old boy trying to work through things his brain is not developed to deal with and as such I just want to hug him. Poor little baby ❤
16:53 the backtracking is what makes code Veronica a little hard. I don't think they should remove that. In fact I think they should expand it.
The dialogue should not be changed one bit. Ppl are too sensitive
This
the dialogue is cheesy as fuck. it gives me genuine second hand embarrassment. the voice acting makes it somehow even cringier
@ummmchileanywaysso2308 cheesy doesn't=bad. Every 80s action movie is full of cheesy dialogue and you wouldn't want them to be any other way
@@johnk.2167 i wouldn't change the cheesiness of re1 or re2 but code veronica isn't just fun and tongue-in-cheek kinda cheesy its just outright badly written. it honestly sounds like they couldn't meet the deadline for the dialogue when making the game so they had to rush it and use rough drafts. combined with the less than ideal voice acting, code veronica's cutscenes feel like a cheap cartoon at times
Please Ditch the RE2 remake model and recreate one resembling THIS Claire model
Yeah that's not how Capcom rolls their going to redesign Claire and everyone don't be selfish on demands. So they can be comfortable clothes and no tight clothes that uncomfortable for the players itself.
Man code veronica is good lol im currently playing through for the first time and im on the christopher redfield part
How can we have a boss fight against Wesker if we fight him in 5.
I wouldn't have minded Rodrigo as the secondary player in place of whatever Steve was with his creepy moment of nearly kissing Claire in her sleep.
They could get rid of the weird cross dressing part of the game and just have it as Alexa has disappeared, Alfred has his house has a shrine to her so keeping it similar to the OG, then to stop Claire instead of sending a random tyrant after her he uses the T Veronica virus himself
What claire said was valid. Agreed.
