  • It took 3 years to complete but this NC couple remodeled an old RV and semi-truck into the most beautiful and ingenious HDT RV setup you've ever seen.
We were honored to meet subscribers Al and Julie and were super excited to accept their invitation to share their story about remodeling their 5th Wheel and semi truck into a super RV home on wheels with you. We hope you enjoy it as we dig into the pros and cons of traveling in an HDT setup... one that's complete with every toy you can imagine thanks to all the great innovations they created to make this the perfect RV for them. They also discuss why folks choose to travel with an HDT instead of a conventional truck, the ups and downs of remodeling an older rv and why they are also looking to downsize for some of their upcoming trips.

This was nice seeing this couple with this beautiful rig. I would love to see more of it. It’s beautiful. Nicely built to the way they like it and nice they pull it with a HDT. Plus drive a small car. I like it. Thank you Owen and Lynn for talking with this couple. What a nice couple. Great video! Hope you have a great week. Love you both! Stay safe.

That was cool. Thanks for showing us. I love the end result but three years of all your free time is a pretty high price. It seems like every trip we come home with memories and a repair list. Happy tails and safe travels.

WOW!!! That is an amazing rig! I'll bet Al is a whiz at Leggos. Seriously, it's beautiful and if they're comfortable moving that rig down the road, go for it. Thanks for sharing Owen and Lynn.

Beautiful set-up for them. But, I think it’s about being comfortable towing with the size etc. if you are into it, great. Size and your personal preference what you are comfortable with is what is so much fun about the RV life. Regardless, they have a great attitude and truly enjoyed hearing their story. Safe travels everyone! 🚗🇺🇸

Nice rig and set up and they did a very nice job on it. But I don’t think that would be for us. The maintenance on the truck would be a lot of expense. there would be a lot of planning to do a trip in a rig that size. that would be more stressing that we would want to deal with when we are retired. They seem to be very happy with it something to be proud of.

Nice rig but not my cup of tea. We like the size of our Travato and also I don't think I'd ever want a pull camper....Different Strokes - For Different Folks...Happy Trails 🐕🚛🚚

If your making money with the truck, need a cdl. So if you have a business and your writing miles off need a cdl. I don't recommend lying that not writing off miles as a biz. Some of us aren't fond 45'000 lb rigs with untrained drivers. This is exactly what causes regulations. At a certain age in my state have retake driving test.
