Haaaaaa! I betcha EVERY piece of furniture and artwork in his house came from Walmart, and he simply pasted/taped/glued designer labels and AUTOGRAPHS on them!!!! Haaaaa! This guy takes "Fake it til you make it" to the Nth degree!!!!! What a HOOT!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE his creativity!!!!! 😂😁🤣

His bedroom is sooooo good, the mix of classics, colors, whimsy and books made me hit replay 3 times. The green pottery, the ikat chair, the bedspread, the art, the lampshade on the blue and white lamp, the carpet on a sisal floor, the screen, sheer perfection. So glad that you give us such a great mix of people and homes and styles.

I love this house! There are reminders of my first apartment. I couldn’t afford art so I made it myself. Once, on a trip to Montreal I ripped an old Cirque du Soleil Saltimbanco poster off of a wall that was plastered in all sorts of advertising posters. It still had the remnants of older posters underneath. I mounted it and it took pride of place.

Hartig's style is too colorful and flamboyant for me personally, but I love the joie de vivre that shines through in every aspect of his life and work. That's what makes him original and unique. I love that!

Johnson - Such a FuN living space so Colorful!! I LoVe the over sized toil blue and white fabric on those FABULOUS vintage swivel chairs. OMG the blue and white transferware back spash/wallpaper in the kitchen LoVe! Just an enchanting place - the eye candy is divine! So unique really gives a spirit of who you are Johnson! Zow-E! That was so much fun! So much energy and creativity. Just the opening of this video was exciting. Johnson Hartig's house has so much creativity and individuality and color that I think of it as a successor to Charleston where Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant lived and which they turned into their own ongoing work of art. Johnson's house is a modern day Charleston but even more so and is still his own unique creation.

Well Bonjour my 2 fav. ladies - Happy spring (saying this because I am crazy happy that I can see green infront of the house instead of snow !!) Back to this visit. At first I did not like it, -( just one sec., breathe here) - Then I totally loved it because I was able to step out of my more classic mind and remained positive and it hit my artistic side and I fell in love with the guy, his home and of course his boutique (where you tried the gorgeous jackets ! Ok. I have literally been saving this video because I can't imagine there are a whole lot more coming with everything being so closed and what a treat and total pick me up!! Two things. I LOVE how effortlessly positive you are and how you have this sense of wonder that is truly sincere that you project. Secondly, all together I totally didn't get Johnson Hartig's busy aesthetic at first but then when you went to the studio and tried on clothes!!! That safety pin COAT!!! I rewatched. The use of color. I am now a fan.
