    Thanks for posting this recipe. I just tried it and it was delicious. I doubled the amount of rice and water and had to add an extra 10 minutes to the cooking time. I kept the amount of pork the same as shown in the recipe and added three century eggs. I really liked the resulting ratio. I also used brown rice instead of jasmine rice so it turned out a little darker. Lastly, I added 2 tablespoons of sesame oil (4 for the doubled recipe) to give it a richer feel. Definitely let it naturally release the pressure. Doing a quick release sprays goopy rice gruel all over the place.
    I am looking forward to more of your recipes.

      Thank you for letting me know how it turned out! Using brown rice is different and even more nutritious, I should try doing that. Nice that you added century eggs and sesame oil too. You customized the congee to better suit your tastes which is awesome! Thank you for sharing your experience! 🤗

    Wow! Awesome video, we were about to do another congee episode (geared for adults) but we’ll hold off for now :). This is almost exactly how we make it! Just popped up on my feed this morning. The instant pot is such a convenient way to make congee!

    Update: it turned out wonderful. My husband is from Shanghai and loved it. He said his family adds 100 year egg in when they make it. I would make this a hundred more times, so good! Thanks 😊

    I'm sorry if I missed it but how long do you cook after adding the minced pork? Thank you!

      I cooke the raw minced pork until it is no longer pink. It takes about 5 minutes or so. Enjoy!

      I haven’t tried making congee with Basmati rice before. I don’t see why not. If you try it, let me know how it goes.

    If you have not got pressure cook can do in a pan on stove

    • @francineshuen
      @francineshuen  3 года назад +1

      Yes, if you don't have an Instant Pot, you can make congee in a big pot on the stove. Just remember to stir it from time to time, so it doesn't burn on the bottom, and keep an eye on the pot as it can boil over easily.

    I like mine a little thicker. What should I do? Increase rice?

    • @francineshuen
      @francineshuen  2 года назад

      Yes , increase the amount of rice or decrease the amount of water until you have your desired consistency. Thanks for watching!
