    Dude, this is legit a fantastic detail. The English VA's also had to voice the attack names for the original Japanese ones when it's usually only the Japanese who have to voice two different attack names. Shit like this is why I love Inti so much.

      probably the same reasoning Square enix had for releasing Kingdom hearts series' final mix as Japanese text with english voices, because they were aimed at the Japanese audience.

      I mean, if you see the end of the video, some skills are shorter when spoken in their Japanese lines, or some of them are shorter when spoken in their English lines. Admittedly for most players that's such a minor difference, but you know some people can be quite obsessed with speedrunning, and every second matter.

    • @no1ryomafan585
      @no1ryomafan585 3 года назад +5

      I personally did it just to test it out. Even if no one plays on that version I wouldn’t be surprised they snuck it in as a funny little Easter egg, that or inti may have consider since Gunvolt hasn’t gotten a dub game wise, some Japanese fans would be curious about how the English voices sound. It still might be a small number but I give them props for going that attention to detail and not just having only the Japanese VA’s re-record English finishers or just go back to GV1 style where the Japanese cast would say the Japanese finisher names even if the text said something different and Vice versa for the English vas.

    • @Chromakaze
      @Chromakaze 3 года назад +8

      Actually, yes. On Twitter, I've seen a decent chunk of Japanese users play the game with English voices. It's the minority, but it's still far more than what I had expected.

  • @Marioak

    I just love, LOVE the fact that, not only do the JP VAs dub the EN lines like usual, but even the EN VAs dubbed the JP lines. Freaking love this attention to detail and the willingness to do that extra bit of work just because it's cooler. Amazing job from Inti.

    • @hydrosphagus9672
      @hydrosphagus9672 3 года назад +2

      I know it's likely a matter of logistics and time, but I find it amusing that while the skill names are adjusted to Japanese or English depending on the text, the Japanese dub still calls Acura when the English text reads Copen. At least Lola/Roro is a minor difference so that doesn't matter much.

    • @hajimenolagrin2149
      @hajimenolagrin2149 3 года назад +1

      I never had problems.
      In fact, I kind of thought it was unnecessary to change the skill names since the japanese ones made perfect sense anyway ("Sunshine Nova" sounds more like a super attack than "Refulgence")...

    • @hydrosphagus9672
      @hydrosphagus9672 3 года назад +2

      Indeed, the sheer amount of name change honestly baffles me. Sure, some of the names in Japanese are silly (Entangle Blond, anyone?), but for the most parts, they sound fine (Zero Blade, Doomsday Blast, Destiny Fang etc), so aside from translating Japanese words to verbatim English (Dystnine & Bakto come to mind; I can't read Japanese and I have no idea what Shouryu Ragazen means, if I hear it right), why the change?
      Sometimes to me it feels like an in-joke; Megaman series has a LOT of name changes, so maybe for some reason someone up Inti Creates somehow thinks they need to keep this silly tradition.

    For the most part the English dubs are well-done, and so I don't really prefer one language to the other.
    Only characters I feel that the Japanese is definitely better are Ace/Slug, Blue-silon and Mother. The English VAs for them are a tad too energetic when the characters in question are rather level-headed (Ace and Blue-silon), or dead inside (Mother).

      ZXA's dub was also done in Japan so it was probably extremely cheap, doesn't help that ZXA was made in about 3-4 months, which wouldn't have even been enough time to get a proper American English dub lol. Tbh Megaman games have short campaigns to begin with ( ended this one with 3:49 as a somewhat rusty but experienced Megaman/Gunvolt player )
      These kinds of games have a lot of appeal to people who enjoy things like speed running or master the games mechanics to get those S ranks or beating hard mode so while a single playthrough may not seem worth it, these games were designed to be played repeatedly
