Nice! I bought some 2” x 2” aluminum stock from Amazon and cut to length I needed, and drilled holes to match those in the mounting brackets. Installed them under the awning mounting brackets to lift the entire awning up higher. That may be an inexpensive way to raise the awning height without changing the height of your tent.

The 270° awnings are well worth it. We had a 6hr downpour last season, and instead of being cooped-up in the 5x9 Hiker Trailer, the 270 afforded us a dry place to cook meals, and sit back and just chill. The Wall kits that zip-in are well worth it also. We've used the rear wall quite a few times, and it provides great rain/wind/sun protection.

Those ratchet hook things seemed awesome! I’ll have to look for those!

Bro! I have a full size truck with a 12"bed rack for my tent. Looking for larger brackets to accommodate some needed height. Thanks for the info, great video!

Great awning, clearly great for shade from the sun. But what about rain, will that get in around the inside, like over the tailgate or the far side? How is it in the rain? One of the reasons I ask is that I am considering buying an RSI Smartcap sport, and it would be great to mount this up on the top of it along one side, then once the awning is fully open, not only would it be higher so more headroom, but I imagine I could open all three sides of the smartcap, open the tailgate, and maybe even sleep on an air mattress inside the bed, my head on the tailgate for that extra length. But I'm concerned the rain water if raining might drip or even flow down onto the open tailgate or maybe the window on the far side, any thoughts on that? Thanks.

I've got an Evo Sport on my F250. Lifting the rear half-door provides pretty good rain protection on the tailgate. Not perfect and maybe not at all in windy conditions, but pretty good in a gentle rain. I do wonder if there'd be enough clearance to open everything up on the SmartCap without hitting the bottom rails of the awning, though.

Very nice truck and that awning seems well made. Too bad they plastered their logo on the cover and the awning itself, though. I wonder if they could be debadged. If not, I'd be tempted to tape over it.

Not gonna lie, I’m pretty jealous of your setup. The new awning is friggin awesome. Do you have a name/link to the ratcheting tie down
