Thanks for being vulnerable and authentic about your feelings around the election. Being human in the US is political and trying to break free from the systems that hold us back is a radical act ✌🏼 Let’s keep moving forward and creating communities of change!
My favorite flours to use for gluten free baking are oats, milo sorghum, and sifted buckwheat. I usually add some corn starch or arrow root powder to lighten the dough and make it more cohesive. All my Christmas jam is made. Now i just need to do the baking.
I’m trying to decide on curtains for my living/dining room. I really like how you’ve done yours, you have privacy and still have light. So, pretty. You have a beautiful home. My husband passed a year ago, I’m trying to make the house a little like me and still like him. When my grand daughters were small and played with play dough, I found that a shower curtain liner was perfect to cover the table with! The play dough did not stick to the liner like it did to my table. You are so nice to listen to, I learn a lot! Thank you!
Great tip for protecting the table and quick clean up... thank you! Definitely will be using this one and for more than just play dough! Crafts...baking... grandchildren time at the table for anything... LOL!🌿💚
I just wanted to mention how beautiful you looked in this video. Your skin looks healthy and vibrant. You're 💯 % correct. Enough of the election. Let's get cooking. Thank you for sharing. 💐💙🙏🇿🇦🇺🇲
Thank u so much Rachel Really appreciate this vidio so much and all the work u put into it Deffinatly be doing these Thanks again And have a great Christmas Best wishes from our home to yours
I made brownie mixes last year for the women in my family. I put them in Christmas treat bags and wrote the directions on the outside. I also made up some cookie ones the same way. I placed them in a mixing bowl with the mixes and a few other little items and they loved them. Moving on will be wonderful. I'm waiting for the Medicare Open Enrollment commercials to be over. LOL
Thank you for the recipes, Rachel. The look delicious as always. As for your comments about the election - I didn’t hear any sort of partisan opinions at all. I think certainly everyone must be glad the frenetic campaigning is over whatever their leanings. I didn’t view your comments to be any more political than commenting on the weather. So please disregard comments that try to ascribe a particular political position to anything you said.
I spray my lids with Dawn Power Dissolver, wait a few minutes and wash with soap and hot water. This works on food saver bags, glass jars, just about anything 😊 I too wash my food bags and hang them up to dry inside and out and store back in the boxes or containers that.
Thank you for showing how to make the jars presentable as a gift! Gonna use your suggestion! Health and happiness to you, Todd (puppies) and the family.
I made up a jar of the spice cake mix yesterday. Today I used it for cupcakes. The batter taste yummy and the smell of them baking was fabulous! I haven't had one yet but I know they will be great. Thank you!
I have always been GF and for pumpkin pie I just make the filling and put it in a dish and bake it. I have never used a crust with it. It is just the same and I even top it with cool whip.
Rachel where can I find your mixes in a jar? I looked through your videos and don’t see them. I am particularly interested in your cornbread mix in a jar, but I’d like to see them all. It’s gift giving time! Lol
Or Jiffy brownie mix for $0.79 and add to it. That's what the Jiffy mixes were good for. Not great, but very good, quick and easy and a staple to have on hand. Usually just add an egg, maybe milk.
Rachel, your title says Paleo which I was excited about because I'm diabetic but I see you're using sugar in that nut pie crust. That makes it gluten free but how is it paleo?
There's a lot of work to do to make things better within these four years. There's a lot to fix BUT things will get better and we will ALL be better off...BELIEVE ME! For those that don't like the outcome of the election, give Trump a chance, like we gave to Biden! We waited 3 1/2 years & JB & KH still had six months to prove that they can fix certain IMPORTANT ISSUES and they were perfectly capable of doing it, but decided not too, which lost a lot of votes for them so that's all KH's fault! We don't even know who's running the country anymore because they're both on vacation somewhere OR HIDING. Serious question... who is running our country? Biden and Harris are supposed to still be running this country through January. Where are they & why is she hiding? Is it because she owes her celebrities $41 million? That was poor campaign managing. They started with over $1 billion and now they're in the hole for over 40 million! Trump didn't have to pay anyone to come out and speak. They all figure they'd have a farewell party on the taxpayers dime! 🤦🏻♀️🇺🇸
@brianczuhai8909 but then that wouldn't work the same as guessing the alcohol content isn't the same. It's the alcohol that cleans the marker pen off and not the vanilla!
@@chrissiehart22 The point is artificial vanilla is < $1/oz. The real vanilla is ~$4/oz. I bought some plant tag markers I was intending to reuse. Nice to know what removes the Sharpie markers.
Hi Rachel, Maybe you could measure the ingredients in grams in upcoming videos. That should be easy enough to do and not stress-out the By the Book Cooks who aren’t comfortable “Eyeballing” holiday recipes. As a viewer that watches and critiques Chefs and home cooks alike I’m betting their dab of this and a teaspoon of that isn’t all that accurate. Most kitchens have basic tools to measure ingredients why not use them? Think about the person measuring flour in a Pyrex glass cup meant for liquids or milk or water in a dry measuring cup and not filling it to the top so as not to spill it out on the work surface. These little variances can have a huge impact on the outcome of a recipe. You and Todd are as frugal as any on RUclips so I’m not bashing you.I just don’t want to lose my ingredients when I try a recipe that could have been more accurate to begin with. If you have a chance to watch other cooking videos I hope you will see all the variables I see. Blessed and Happy Holidays to you and yours.
I respect your opinion. I’m just very surprised to hear somebody that lives. The lifestyle that you do would vote for an opponent that goes against everything we believe in. Great video.❤️
Everyone has their own opinion and reasons for their political views. Why does it disappoint you for someone to have different views than you to the point you had to comment about it? I agree, it would have been better for her to edit that out, but whatever.
I have to agree. It just wasn't needed when everything is so volatile for some right now. As for the person disparaging the og comment, mind your own business. No one asked you to have an opinion about THEIR opinion concerning a content creator mentioning a highly contentious topic. If that's what this channel was about, that would be a whole different story, but people don't come here for political opinions, we come here for anything but.

Oh this is a great idea for gifts! I just use rubbing alcohol to get my marker off lids. Thank you

I’m all about bigger and better! Happy holiday season Rachel and Todd! Looking forward to Granny Wyatt’s heavenly pumpkin pie!
You chose to be offended. It is what it is.
@@marymiller2183 ??? How was I offended?

When I make brown sugar I almost crave the molasses, so I just have to have a little bit. I"m sure its the minerals my body needs.
Molasses cookies are yummy.
Thank you Rachel ❤
I always just scrub off the info with a regular 3m sponge. Comes off with just a little scrubbing. Never have had a problem.
Thank you!🤗
GREAT GIFT IDEAS
Rach, Mr. Google pants says the brown sugar gets hard when the moisture evaporates. You probably doesn't because you bake alot which is great!!
Thanks, Rachel!

She has several linked in the video description, including the cornbread one. 😊
Do you pre bake the nut crusts for pumpkin pie too? Thanks! Looking forward to making these. 😊

You are a beautiful person
Rubbing alcohol takes off the sharpie from a lid too except the ForJars lids - haven’t found anything to get it off those
❤
If you write on your jar lids with Sharpies, rubbing alcohol may remove it.
😅 I've found out the hard way(wasn't trying to remove it) oil before the dish soap also removes it pretty well.
Magic eraser works for Mr on glass or lids

Amen!!
Think the extract works because of the alcohol in it. I've used nail polish remover for non food items and that's worked well for me
Real vanilla is super expensive. The artificial, not so much.

Is the coffee just a teaspoon from a strong cup of coffee?
I’m wondering that too. 😊

Agreed

Maybe there will be new rules on your farm stand with new elected officials lol! Really no idea if it will make a difference but I’m trying haha!
Nah! We're still in Michigan. While the state technically flipped were still left with Whitmer in charge thumbs 👇 😢
I for one was pleasant about the election results.
