Considering video work, the Sony FX30 paired with the 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS II could be a smarter choice over the 300mm f/2.8. This setup not only matches the focal range but excels in video quality, thanks to the FX30's advanced video features and the lens's optical stabilization and versatility. Plus, it's far more budget-friendly, allowing you to allocate funds to other essential video gear. A win-win for high-quality video production without breaking the bank.
I’m in love with this lens. It’s such a dreamy to hold as it’s so well balanced. I also really appreciate how you mentioned that you had it for a while before reviewing. I see a of videos where it seems they are in a hurry to publish something quickly without using it really.
Thx. Good review. I have the 200 600 and was thinking of this lens with a 1.4 tc but now you have me doubting the speed of the autofocus. Do a lot of bif. What do you think?
The 300GM paired with the 2x TC is still very fast, matter of fact many Sony wildlife (birders) run this combo and praise it's speed and unbelievable sharpness even with a 2x TC @600mm!
I was very close to buy the new Sony 300mm 2.8 GM Lens with 1.4x and 2x teleconverters, but then I saw that Sigma announced the Sigma 500mm 5.6 DG DN OS Sports Lens at under half the price of the Sony, the Sigma is very compact, very light weight, very easy to handle and can be carried for several hours in your hands without any problems, the Sigma is very sharp and delivers very good image quality, so I can highly recommend the Sigma 500mm 5.6 DG DN OS Sports Lens.
The Sigma does not take teleconverters, and is frame rate limited on Sony bodies ( 15 FPS max). Also, the AF motors on the Sigma are slower than the 300GM
@@njrtech I do not care about speed above 5 fps, I can crop a LOT from 61 megapixels ! The Sigma focuses FAST enough ! I was close to buying the Sony 300mm 2.8 GM with teleconverters, then the Sigma was announced, I am very happy using the Sigma 500mm !!! You listen too much to youtubers that do not do photography very much,, much of them do most videos !
1. If you are financial free and can spend this amount of money, maybe 2. If you plan to do sport photography in dark conditions, maybe 3. If you will never afford 400 mm f2.8 or 600 mm f4.0, maybe 4. If you want lightweight, prime, fullframe lens, maybe

I’m actually amazed at that comparison between the 300+1.4 vs the 400. Convinced me to purchase the 300 AND to subscribe to you, thankyou.
Thank you so much! Don’t forget to add in a TC.
with one to choose between
-A7RV WITH 300 MM GM + 20-70 2.8 GM
-CANON R3 100-300 2.8 GM
THANKS SO MUCH
AND BEST WORK
A7RV WITH 300 MM GM + 20-70 2.8 GM is the only option as I see on list :)
Yes please do a review of the 600 F4 GM. Especially with the combination of A1/A9iii

What do you think in comparison with the 400 2,8? Bokeh? Do you use more a 400 or 300 vocal lens in wildlife?
Thank you ... one of the best reviews I have seen about this lens! Mine is on order and will replace my 400 f/2.8 :)
Nice review. How did the 2x TC hold up? What is the monitor on top you are using? Thx
I am coming up with the review with tc soon. Monitor is ninja v +

Great lens but not a good choice for a bird shooters. If you are a bird shooter get a 600mm or 200-600mm..
You would have been a nice Sony ambassador
Hiiii aarzoo
Mam can i join your team
'of course the details are going to be very different ', meanwhile showing an image that looks EXACTLY THE SAME.
Pointless to compare sharpness at F/22....
You are so beautiful you should be in front of the camera not behind
