We need a Dragon Ball OVA Prequel for Yamoshi.
I think we need to just let Dragonball lore be as simple and lacking depth as Toriyama intended it. Not a single theory anyone has come up with in 30 years was true. Toriyama didn't want to write some deep story. He was a bomb illustrator. But thank God he only did the art for Dragon Quest games.. can you imagine how bad the story would be in those games if they let him write and not just draw? Lmao. He's said this himself. He's not being humble. He was telling the world to calm down. In fact, back in like 2010 when that Dragonball live action came out he literally asked people to stop thinking too deep into it. Because he himself doesn't lmao. DB fans really are the worst.

@@BriskQuick I definitely understand what you are saying, but we have been given a story that is clearly not as simple as it was in the first series with all of its current elements, so I do not see any reason for them to not give us more concerning Yamoshi. If they could do it well, it would be a wasted opportunity if they did not.

It's a series about yelling louder than your opponent and powering up for no reason other than to further the plot. And you know what? That's fine. It's mindless fun. But people making it out to be deep and whatnot is embarrassing. It's cringe. It's all bad.

I am talking about the current complexity of Dragon Ball in its totality when going from its very beginning to where it is now with its many different elements. That is not me saying that the story is deep, so you are making it out to be the case that I am saying that. It is embarrassing, cringe, and all bad that you are attempting to make it seem like a single special about this character would not make sense when it definitely would when considering the stories that focus on Bardock and time travel being a key part of the series in general.

A Yamoshi movie would be nice. If they did a film based on things aside from the characters we already know it would be awesome to explore the origins of this character.

Seems to me like Toriyama further complicated a pretty simple and straightforward backstory from BoG. Yamoshi and several other good saiyans pour power into Yamoshi and wind up creating a SSGod. But the change is temporary like we saw in the movie, and the evil saiyans survive his attack and defeat him when his power runs out like we saw later with Goku.
Now he's the first SSJ instead, and his friends lose their point in the story, and Yamoshi knows a SSGod can be created eventhough he became was a regular SSJ.
It’s not really complicated. It’s explaining the story further or answering certain things of the moment

Yeah, but it fits better with the whole 'righteous fury' thing Super Saiyan was apparently about. Makes sense too, since the only saiyans to achieve it were pure of heart and pushed into a corner (Yamoshi and Goku). Until Vegeta completely shattered the narrative and made it known that ANY Saiyan can transform if the conditions are met, regardless of mortal alignment.
No bud, he's just misrepresenting his words. All Toriyama said is both legends start from the same place. That is all. The legend of the Super Saiyan God eventually become the legend of the Super Saiyan. One person, two legends, as the god aspect became lost to time.
Imagine piccolo reading the namkeian books and becoming orange piccolo through that instead of the way it happened.

I always see it this way: He awakened SSJ God, lost it and went regular SSJ. Becoming both the ssj God and Ssj legends respectively. But time made the legends separate into what we know now.
That's not what happened. He became super saiyan. Died and his spirit helped another saiyan become the super saiyan god

A soul never dies. All he did was pass on to the Namekians what he learned about SSG. Maybe he found the Namekians And he needed rest from bad injuries so they probably wished him away. He probably felt like that power was too dangerous. Especially when they were wiping out Frieza race. And Frieza is also OP when training

I usually dislike giving author statements too much weight but in this case that bit about Yamoshi's spirit interacting with a Namekian elder does make work well since it also might explain how Guru/Grand Elder knew about Super Saiyans during the Namek arc.
I feel like whatever's going on with Broly and his ilk being born every one thousand years is likely Yamoshi's doing. Like, every thousand years, Yamoshi is reborn as a Saiyan in the current era. That Saiyan then becomes the 'Legenedary' of that era and cultivates that power so that the one after them a thousand years later is stronger. Would explain Broly's power and why there's only one of him every thousand years. He's the possible reincarnation of Yamoshi and all those that came after him.
But then that raises the question of why Yamoshi's reincarnating himself.

Calling it now Vegeta is a direct decendant of Yamoshi thats why in the battle of gods movie the original super saiyan god in the flashbac resembled him so much, i think this was before the Vegeta clan seized power and became royality. Frieza race is so OP that the Saiyans were still wiping them out. That should scratch some heads. So imagine Saiyans learning super Saiyan God. Beerus would've had to come wipe them out because they could've been like Frieza race just brutally killing people. I'm not sure if people are paying attention to Dragonball Super or what.

My man Broly (ya know, THE LSS) is actually the SS God in Beerus' dream, he's already a righteous Saiyan with a pure heart and potentially an unlimited amount of power once he gains full control equivalent like Goku did with MUI.
And Gohan (also future Trunks, my man deserves more credit/respect for literally breaking the 4th wall and saving the entire franchise for us) become a Kai.

Rebelled against evil saiyans ✅ (kinda, he did incite a rebellion from the saiyans to take down Frieza and they were mostly evil)
Become SS ✅ (episode of Bardock)
Wanted to find the next Saiyan savior ✅ (more like an avenger, in Goku)
Saved Salad from an evil threat ✅ (against Chilled)
And even though the order and details don’t match, that’s quite how legends usually go. At least until they are collected in a book and then they become a single official story that doesn’t completely resemble any of the previous tales.
Since he was forced back in time it would make sense that the Namekians at one time could have heard of such tales about the past and, unbeknownst to them, the future even.
It also would explain why this particular legend is not known among the saiyans.

I don't remember that they said that yamoshi being the ssg specifically, it is said that there was a saiyan (no name) with his 5 comrades, They did the ritual and the Saiyan transformed into what we know as SSG but the bad thing is that as we can see in the fight between Goku and Beerus, the form did not last long and then the saiyan got cornered and lost

Actually, there was an ancient SSG, but Yamoshi wasn't him! Yamoshi was the ancient SSJ who inspired the legend of the Super Saiyan in Universe 7 with ! After perishing fighting the ancient evil Saiyans, Yamoshi would continue to guide the Righteous Saiyans in spirit and, with his guidance, aided the six Saiyans spoken of by Shenron in performing the SSG ritual, allowing one of them to become the original SSG who unlike Yamoshi isn't named! However, the original SSG also ended up perishing when his SSG ran out! However, a Namekian Elder became aware of Yamoshi & the original SSG's story, which they recorded into the Namekian Book of Legends, which is where Shenron got his information regarding the history of the SSG ritual! In Dragon Ball Legends, Shallot & Giblet are the descendants of the original SSG who historically perished as well with the Evil Ancient Saiyans becoming the ancestors of all modern Saiyans, though due to the Tournament of Time end up in the present era! Giblets suggests the Righteous Ancient Saiyans lost due to their refusal to commit genocide against the Evil Ancient Saiyans as they hoped to redeem their misguided brethren, which is why Giblet became the Saiyan in Red who kills modern Saiyans due to their bloodline being tainted as they are all descendants of the Evil Saiyans!

He just made it make no sense cause ssj god was never mentioned nor would it make sense cause they would need multiple ssjs to do it. Also yamoshi wasnt defeated by the evil sayians it clearly says he died cause the power from the ssj transformation was too much to handle so it was probably something similar to brolys ssj transformation. My head cannon is yamoshi got so powerful at one point in bis transformation he gets the powers of a ssj god but he couldnt hold it and ended up dieing cause we see goku easily absorb the ssjg transformation into his base form meaning he controlled the transformation but i think yamoshi wasnt so lucky since he never even became a ssj2
