Installed mine yesterday, hardest part was folding the bags. Get longer, beefier zip ties, it helps. Had to remove first wheel to tighten the air line. 2nd one I attached the line as soon as I got the top into the spring (much easier). Great video, thanks 😊
Dude, I’ve done everything you just did because a 2500 wasn’t in my budget either. I bought Heavy Duty springs from Moog. I got the husky distribution hitch and gonna install the bags and I wish I would have installed those when I did the springs but didn’t think I would need them, but it was simple. Thanks for the video guys!
Good video. I just installed the HD's in my 22 Ram...lifted the frame via the hitch to relieve spring tension and removed well liners...plenty of work room. Bags inserted easily and then ran the schrader valve next to license plate.. Quick and easy....
Good video and used some of your suggestions to make my install go easier! Def feel a difference with the bags during a drive around after i installed them. Firmer yet allows for the original cushion ride that the springs were designed for. Thanks again!
When I did mine I just took loose the struts allowing the axle to drop farther and installed the bags from the top of the spring easy peasy no fighting to deflate or squeeze it in there
I simultaneously installed tuff truck springs and the air bags. Sooooooo much easier than mashing the bag into a taco shape. The bag just slips through the top of the spring.
Have just have to say I had your Video pop up right after mine as I did the same install on my channel and it almost done the same video LOL, too funny. Great video and the Air Bags worked great for me as well 👍
Haha! I totally understand you! Chris is the unofficial king of zipties, has been since I've known the guy. And yeah, we all seem to have chunks of 4x4 & 6x6 hanging around that we're not quite sure where they came from, haha.
what is the length of this airbag? in hand seems to be shorter than 27 inches. can you please give the exact length when inflated and the part number as i see different lengths on amazon. thanks
TAKES 2 MIN TO TAKE THE LOWER SHOCK BOLT OUT AND LOWER THE REAR END..THE SPRINGS COME RIGHT OUT..PUSH THE BAG STRIGHT DOWN THE TOP..NO FIGHTING WITH TRYING TO SQUEEZE THE BAG TO THE SHAPE HE HAS IT ALONE..TRUST ME THAT ISNT EASY TO FOLD UP LIKE THAT.... THATS A NIGHTMARE WITH HD BAGS....I DID IT THEIR WAY FIRST BUT WHEN I DID A FRIENDS I DID IT MY WAY..NO SWEARING OR FIGHTINH WITH IT..YOU ALSO DONT HAVE TO TAKE THE WHEEL LINERS OUT.
An Amazon reviewer said that the installation was harder if you had the off-road package (on the new body style Ram) but didn't elaborate why it was harder. Can anyone who's got the off-road package clarify this?
Did your coil springs rub against your bags? I did the install thanks to your help. I think they are good but it says 1/2" of clearance from the bag to the spring all the way around which is hard to believe. I have a 2018 ram big horn.
What were the upgraded springs you bought ?? I have the same truck with the same problem and am buying air bags but would like to buy heavier springs too. Thanx from Oswego.
should of just bought an air lift dominator 2600 lb bags and then get the air bag brackets that fit your truck or make them and then ditch the coil spring... or the contitech triple convolted bags this way you would get more lift when it squats ..and then have no squat at all fulling loaded ... have to keep your shocks
My trailer of similar weight to his (7000#), loaded puts almost 900# on the hitch. My 17 ram only has 1375# payload, which I would assume is close to this trucks as well.
I have the same truck and it says the tongue weight limit is 500lbs and trailer 5000lbs. Doesn't this trailer at 6700lbs exceed the limits of the hitch?
its supposed to add a ton of handleing so why whould you raise it back to 29" and check the pressure? Thats why i just bought it, to level the truck back out. 35psi is still pretty soft.

I did the same install and also changed out the factory bump stops with Timbren bump stops! Totally worth it!

Much easier the way you removed wheel liners and tires giving you lots more room. Good job guys!
Look out for that HF jackstand!
Awesome video, I had questions but this video answered all of them.
Didn't answer mine. I have no idea what a wheel aligner is and he didn't explain how the valve doesn't get smashed under load.

Check out Timbren bump stops for security incase the airbags blowout , it's easy to install and maintenance free .
Great Filming Guys! You made it look as easy as it's supposed to be. Airlift should have sent you some Shekels for that one.

I'm going to test them for leaks before installing since I've seen bad bags new from other videos.
Zipties great idea i was about to give up. Also its funny how you also you the piece of wood to get the trailer jack up i also have the same wood lol

So i just finished setting everything up thanks to you guys. And those zipties

Looked at mine and can’t no hole for the airline to come down looks like previous owner installed a level kit

how are those air bags holding up after 2 years?

How are your air bags holding up after you have used them for awhile? Any leaks?
Following the instructions to remove the rear spring is much easier than doing it this way.
Lubrication is the key to penetration you don’t say 🤣
Thank you for noticing our corny humor!
That a stock tire isn’t it like 32”

Does it help with empty weight highway vibrations, body sway?
Hello, very helpful. What is the tounge weight on the trailer?
Well if the trailer dry weight is 6700lbs, given a typical 10% tongue weight, that would mean it's about 670lbs.
My trailer of similar weight to his (7000#), loaded puts almost 900# on the hitch. My 17 ram only has 1375# payload, which I would assume is close to this trucks as well.
Do you have to get the entire rear axle with both wheels elevated in order to extend the spring enough, or could you lift just one side at a time?
I lifted one side at a time.
Can you put these in the front?
I have the same truck and it says the tongue weight limit is 500lbs and trailer 5000lbs. Doesn't this trailer at 6700lbs exceed the limits of the hitch?
You are reading the rating for the stock bumper. The hitch is rater much higher
Do these bags help with the noticeable body roll?
yes alot
Hellwig sway bar helps alot with the body roll...
How did you calculate the "35 pound" number? Isn't the max inflation pressure 100 pounds?
its supposed to add a ton of handleing so why whould you raise it back to 29" and check the pressure? Thats why i just bought it, to level the truck back out. 35psi is still pretty soft.
You should have measured the height after you inflated the bags.
You're not to turn the spring out of position.
Why do people cover their plate when making a video but don't cover it when driving down the road? Makes no sense to me
Like they're gonna jump on NCIC and look him up.
"Large load"
3/4 inch isnt worth it
Yeah, but he failed to measure it after he inflated it. It appears to have raised the back end an inch or so.
