I live locally to this place. Unfortunately a good amount of the toy sellers clean out local targets and walmarts for new stock very regularly and sell it here at their booths for 3x the price. You can still find good stuff though. The Transformers seller in the back corner is a good dude. He only sells stuff for what it's actually worth. It just sucks that a majority of the toy booths are scalpers though.

Dude I visited when I was in town for Monsterpalooza and I agree. Something like the spirit store popcorn gun from killer Klowns was priced at 199. You can get it online for 49.

I want to like Frank and Son's so much more than I do. l get things from there that I do find interesting. Yet, when I see brand new stuff that just barely came out for 4x the retail price, it does suck to see it be somewhat of a scalper haven. That's why finding those legit deals or getting the toys from many years ago is much better to do at a place like that than scoring anything new, sometimes.
All that said, I am definitely digging the haul! It seems like you did pretty well!
Yep, I've seen atleast 1 or 2 dudes who have booths there at targets in the area clearing out the shelves multiple times. I almost got screwed out of a target exclusive star wars black series figure by one of them but luckily the target was enforcing 1 per person lol.

Their prices are so high because the dealers pay about $600/ week for their booths.
The new toys that do move literally pay the weekly for the obscure vintage toys (like my grail 1970’s NRFB Six Million Dollar Man Oscar Goldman figure in the Dark Helmet booth) that Will sit for months because they cost hundreds of dollars.
Had no idea this place was in Cali and in the LA region. Gonna have to check it out someday. Reminds me of the San Francisco bay area conventions like Super Toy only bigger.
Well, I live just 15 min from Frank's. There all the time. The one thing I keep hearing from out of town visitors are the prices of some things, but the place was founded on the principle of bartering. Some vendors don't have much patience for it, but most do and some even relish the craft. And a lot of vendors have the same items, but may price them differently. I once found a Soundwave figure one guy had priced at $50 and another had priced at $35.
Wow. Now I appreciate even more that I have a Frank and Sons close to me.. About a 20 minute drive or an hour walk..
We 40 miles away we are always happy to have new people at the spot hope you had a great time that place is my homies and mines favorite spot it’s awesome
The good thing is they're open 3 times a week. The bad is that it's so hard to actually find things for good prices, I went to TFcon LA and while there's not gonna be a huge variety of stuff like Franks, the prices are night and day. I'm not even talking about new stuff, just loose figures are sometimes insanely priced at Franks
This used to be a Sam’s Club. 3:38 Dark Helmet collectibles is one of the 4 or 5 booths with loose incomplete Transformers that I’ve purchased many times from, the other large one being at the back right corner in 5:42. I sometimes buy from Toy Arena as well, they’re usually at TFcon LA
I'm glad Frank's is only 8 miles away from me. Been going there since the old spot back in the mid 1990's. It's pure heaven on Earth!
Justin Scarred of Randomland Adventures did a video on Frank and Son some years back, so yes, I'm reasonably sure you can take a camcorder in there. At any rate, really cool, I think if I can get a chance to go other places in SoCal aside from a particular theme park I love going to, I'm definitely checking out Frank and Son. I also need to see if they have a website which might make shopping there a little easier for those of us who can't afford to get down there very often.
So lucky getting the Wings of Honor set. I really want the Scourge from that set to complete the collection of Scourges I got for my Unicron display.
I don't think those two Transformers Galaxy ones were ever released in the US versions, so good catch.
I got a hold of a non transforming 3 foot tall Optimus Prime from a Toys R Us going out of business. They were like, we're not keeping that, you want it? It's going in the bin. I got it. It's a very cheap display but funny.
Used to be a place called Final Frontier in Gilroy like that, and a place called Wolfe Comics in the 90s like this.
Oh dang this place looks like heaven and hell, heaven because it has so many amazing items and well hell for my wallet haha. This place is like 6 maybe 7 hours away from where I’m living. Low key wanna make the trip now lol

That toku booth, I got an energy driver and some o-medals in 2020. But he had split the wolf progrise key from the shotriser. $90 for shotriser $25 for the key. I asked why he said “cause some people just need a second shotriser”
I have spent an ungodly amount of money at Frank and Son's. It's definitely Nerdvana in California and I want to go back next time I'm back in the state.
literally the day u posted the haul on Twitter I got am online haul of my own that included the wings of honor set!!! also found a galaxy force starscream in box. I'm glad I'm not the only one acquiring galaxy force figures.

If that's only half of the haul, the other half must be pretty impressive
Effing bummed to hear that some of the carded toys didn't survive the trip back :( In retrospect, thinking we should have left a note to TSA asking "Hey, these are rare antiques, please handle with care" ... Not like it's a guarantee it'd would have done much good but it's a deterrent all the same.
Fortunately it's just a few of them and only one real loss, and the loss is at least funny how it happened.

Slayers has a special place in my heart. As a kid I hated sailor moon as my big sister would drive me crazy with her love for it but when she got older she knew I was into pokemon and older cartoons got me the first vhs of slayers next and her bf at the who I thought was cool at the time explained the anime to me and I sat down to watch it and the rest is history,he'll I have the next opening as my ringtone on my cell phone still

Metals Quickstrike has a few more paint apps on the head. It's actually the version I have as well. I picked it up NIB from Ebay for around $20 back twelve or so years ago. So the price you paid checks out.
Also, if you and/or your boss are still interested, my boss still has that load of toys we picked up in Miami. I still haven't gotten around to taking pictures of anything myself for various reasons but it's all still available. We'd like to sell it all in one go though if possible.

Oh boy, I remember when those Batman toys came out following the first Batman movie with Michael Keaton. I had this Batman that had his utility belt come out with retractable string for a working grapple. They had incredible X-Men figures back then too. I can probably never go into that store, cause I will spend a fortune. Great video!
Yep, different dealers will charge differently. Also sometimes dealers are selling their 'private collections' and might give you a deal on toys, like Transformers and such. Nice old Disney pin lady at current Time Tunnel toy show was like, they're all a dollar. Got some rare ones. Did cheat though since I didn't know they were rare until afterward. Five bucks, not really all that rare.

I'm wondering if any of the booths had a good supply of Transformers Animated stuff, because I kind of regret not getting a bunch of stuff I could have back then. Also Sonic toys, I'm the Sonic guy so I'm always looking for more Sonic merch.

Funny, I was just there last week and picked up a loose transmetal waspinator from one of their bargain bins. You never know what you can find there sometimes.

I'm local to Frank and Son's so I'm there whenever I get the chance. Even with all of the scalpers there, there's always good deals if you do enough looking around.

Dam, got that SG Thundercracker I was tryna get! lol he was very cheap compared to what he goes for on ebay now. Also good pick up with that wings of honor set! It's been there for a while. They had a SG Megatron too but I managed to scoop him up lol

Frank & Sons are basically the worst kept secret in Southern California. Not only there are toys there. There are also: Sports Cards, old retro games that go back to the Atari 2600, comics, TCGs, pro wrestling, & anime goods. There is also a section that sells supplies for your collectibles. There are also signing events for local sports athletes, pro wrestlers, comics & more.
If you're making a video about Frank's. You're either from out-of-state, desperate to create content, or you just discovered it after everybody else found out about it.
