@goldeneagle1833 thanks so much man! I've been wanting to do some content around draft and sealed for a while now, and your recent videos inspired me to finally get back into it! I cant wait to get the full list and fuly break down the limited experience!
Love this type of content first of all. Very informative opinions about most of these cards. Never seen a tier list similar to this before which I can get behind I'm used to seeing a limited or constructed only tier list. This facilitates both nicely. Maybe one more slot for when a card is plain busted in both constructed and limited? I do agree with most of the ratings but seemed a bit quick to close the book on the 2 mana ranged gal. Hopefully we can get some better support for ranged as it would add another control dimension to some decks especially in limited. Been seeing alot of controversy on the witch in constructed so ready to see how she plays out. Can't wait to see what other avatars get released in this set. Looking forward to the upcoming AL events where we can put these theories to test!
Oh that's a good idea! Yeah I had a bottom of the barrel category but no cream! 😄 The main problem with the Huntress is the 2 power. Sorcery just plays out a tad too slowly for 2 power to be very useful in most cases.
Amen in regards to the second ability of the Witch. I was thinking since I got into the game, wouldn't it be interesting if there were a Hunter from Hearthstone (a hero a quite liked) in Sorcery. Then lo-and-behold, it only took one new set! Witch is a cool idea thematically. Amongst all of the fan card creation we saw on Facebook during that thing, I didn't a Witch proposed--it is just so simple.
Great to see you making content! Hyter Sprites are really great as you said, I already have an idea for that. So exited to see what else is in the set!
@wizardsden666 thanks for checking it out Naoki! Hyter Sprites definitely has me excited. I might actually finally return to Death Speaker. We dont have counterspells so I'll settle for just saying no to what you want to cast! 😁
I have to say, I've heard a few opinions on peoples thoughts about Witch and you definitely have the most interesting take. When you mentions potentially throwing her into a control shells that seemed intriguing, but then your point of Seer being potentially the better choice I feel is valid. But who know what kinda home she is going to fall into, excited to see all the other cool toys we are getting. Also love your prediction on what the Horse might do. Charge would be spicy! Sir Pelleas with Sunken Treasure is some nice tech too! Appreciate you doing this style of video. One day I hope to get a game in with you. Your enchantress list was one of the lists I first ever built, and one of the first lists I feel in love with. Happy to have won a locals with it and to have felt like I piloted it well enough. Your Seer control list as well was right up my sleeve. I am very much a control player. Excited to see what you make for AL!
Happy to hear from a fellow control player and it's nice to hear that you won a locals with Enchantress! Most players just don't prepare for her so she is always reliable! I am totally down to get a game in too. Thanks for watching!
Oh yeah! I started to watch your match and got sidetracked. I'll definitely check out your brew! My question is, did it feel better than just piloting Avatar of Air?
Phase Assassin is just better than Band of Thieves is mostly true. Band of Thieves is Ordinary, so you can go get it with Common Sense; however, it's not exactly a powerful ordinary card to go get with Common Sense
Zalem? Hey mate, can you please try to remove the mic noise when it picks up you touching the desktop (physical, not PC)? For your next video, of course. I enjoyed your content, it’s high quality, but whenever the mic picked-up the thud, it was jarring on my TV. All the best.
I found myself disagreeing with a pretty large amount of your assessments. Witch is going to be an allstar Avatar, no doubt about it - free repeatable tax or burn with no opportunity to defend against it is insane. Siege Giant is an absolute unit, good rate, great ability. Ruffians will be an absolute monster in both limited and constructed. Stealth might be good, but if Ruffians can stick on the board, it's better. Poison Well - actual burn on a Site is incredibly strong. Sugarplum is going to be incredibly useful, being able to attack and then untap a minion to use it as a Defender is strong, and the effect is on a body instead of Belfry, cmon. Super strong for Tempo, especially if Tringh becomes playable because of it. I think deeming Sherwood Huntress unplayable is just flat out wrong. 2 Power Ranged for 2 and a single Air is something we don't have yet. Playing it early and keeping it back stave off aggressive decks I think will certainly have a home.
I thought Witch was busted when I first saw it too, but the more I thought about it, the more I started to fell like it's just too slow or not as versatile as other Avatars in appropriate decks. Would you play it over Avatar of Air in an Air aggro deck? Does it really do much more than a Flamecaller with a 10 damage one shot? Change my mind! Siege Giant just doesn't give you any advantage unfortunately. If it could throw enemy minions then we'd be in business! Ruffians are worse than Kobolds, worse than Dragonettes and worse than Mercenaries. That's ten 3 drop minion slots in your deck if you're heavy on Fire. You could possible slot him in with Flamecaller in a 50 card spellbook but there will probably always be something better. If Poison Well is played in an aggro shell or low cost burn deck it's pretty useless since you will probably be finished playing sites by turn 3 or 4 before your opponent has many sites out to hit. Deserts are simply too powerful for this to find a place there. It could be useful in something like Deathspeaker that plays a lot of sites out and wants to get in chip damage whenever possible but there are just too many other sites that are more useful. Pixies and Huntress are just not useful enough in a meta that is dominated by so many 3+ power units.
@@SquireLep It could be helpful but it isn't reliable at Unique and you already have Gnome Hollows which is ten times better. Earth Air also just doesn't want a minion hanging around protecting the avatar. It will be very niche. It might find a home in an Avatar of Earth shell but I would rather just see Royal Bodyguard off the top of my deck.
@@LetsPlaySorcery Don't get me wrong, I think you've thought about these examples for a long time, but maybe too long. I totally get comparing new cards to the existing meta - how else would we rate them? - but undoubtedly the meta is going to shift, at least a little, with the addition of 220+ new cards. I wouldn't just try to slot Witch, or any new Avatar, directly into an existing deck and call it a day - she's different than AoA or Flamecaller. Build around her, play to her strengths. I really don't think she's comparable to Flamecaller almost at all, Flamecaller has a laundry list of conditions you have to meet before it's useful at all, Witch can start hacking off bits of flesh after 3 or 4 mana - rather than needing to be in position with nothing in the way or cast a teleport, and have a cemetery stuffed with fire minions. Meanwhile, Witch can stay safely tucked in a corner burning and taxing you as she sees fit. I think Witch also basically reads "Tap→ Make Philo Useless next turn/mess up their Curve/don't let them double spell/force them to draw+play a site next turn" and I just can't get over how much potential that has to mess with your opponent's plans. Again, I don't find Ruffians directly comparable to any of them, but especially not Mercenaries. They're a Finisher in a way that the others just can't compare to with their unique mechanic. Sure, Kobolds gets to Strike - but it also has to survive as a 2 power minion, not hit you/allies in the face too often, or strike itself before that. Dragonettes can also fill the role, which is why I think they'll both see play together. I don't find Poison Well at all comparable to Deserts, and personally I think Deserts are probably the worst Ordinary sites. They CAN be great in specific situations- don't get me wrong - but if I'm not playing Imps, Kobolds, or Firebolts, how useful are they? If my baseline minions can trade well on their own, why do I need Deserts? I don't think Poison Well slots into aggro that well, because you're right, after 4 or maybe 5 sites, you tend to just be full steam ahead. But I think there is plenty of room for the card in an Earth/Fire list that cheats out extra sites with Settlers/Imperial Road and makes room for a Well that hits for 3 or 4. Again, comparisons to the current Meta are valid, and I think in some respects hold some water, I just think completely writing them off is wrong when they have the potential to lead to new meta shifts.
@@LetsPlaySorcery Yeah Gnome Hollows is a good counter against Jinn combo, not disputing that. In the case of Bodyguard though, it can eat 2 Jinn discards. But Galahad blanks the entire Jinn combo, as well as Nearby Ally Protection against any other Spirits, Undead, or Demons (Pudge, Vampire, Imp, Legion, Vril, Headless, Grim, Anui, etc) and offers you chances for life gain throughout the match - which Earth normally has to slot in a "do nothing" card for.
Great to see some new content!
Zalem! great video concept, love this 🔥🔥
Love the take on the tier list idea

Which seems really strong. I was playing it in an agro shell like AoA with a small distribution package and it felt pretty good
Oh yeah! I started to watch your match and got sidetracked. I'll definitely check out your brew! My question is, did it feel better than just piloting Avatar of Air?
I am assuming Wyvern counts as a Dragon as well as Beast; "Dragon" is capitalised in the string

@roberts5954 I noticed that too! Its very annoying! 😅 No worries, already on it. Thanks for watching!
Can anybody explain to me what happens when Azuridge Caravan holds Excalibur?
@JonnyDeVries-pf2nh it's every element so it would get +4 power and damage immunity!
