Wow! Nice cabin and what a great price! Thanks for explaining the Crown and Anchor society point system. We just got off Allure of the Seas and I met quite a few Pinnacle and Diamond Plus passengers. Kind of interesting how many there are now due to the double points a couple of years ago!
Follow you all the time, love your content and your positive outlook. So happy for you! Returning from the pandemic in 2021 me & my husband were lucky enough to book a Grand Suite on the Oasis of the Seas 4 times! I am so very grateful for our time in those beautiful suites (it was like being in a ballroom), but now find it hard to go back downstairs to "steerage" (just kidding!!). My, my what problems to have! I need to kick myself to remember how lucky we are to be on any cruise, no matter where, no matter how long. Your videos help with that!
Thank you!!! Hahah, yes, I kept reminding myself that this is not my real life in the Royal Suite! back to interior cabins this Friday! Tough not to get spoiled!
Awesome, Brandon! Tony and I stayed in the Royal Suite on the Mariner of the Seas for 5 nights a couple of years ago, but we paid the website price for the experience. Fortunately, it was priced lower than usual for that particular sailing. We would love to do it again, and throw at least a couple of parties. Of course, you would be invited! We'll let you know when.
Oh wow - this is so impressive for a loyalty cruise. I thought, almost for sure, that you were going to tell us that this was a casino promo. That said, I'm really not sure I'll ever get that high on the programmes - it's SUCH a long time to be spending on ships, unless you're in the top suites and cashing in on points. Brilliant to see they have flexibility to offer more than just the 7-nighters - I'm delighted to see you getting to enjoy this!
Hey there! Great question and I did make a video on their Crown and Anchor point system AGES ago. It is still accurate but the quality might be a little lower. ruclips.net/video/EOgtF_7TGIc/видео.html
Thanks for sharing. Royal seems to be always out of my budget. You tempt me with MSC. We just came back from the carnival conquest and it was excellent and affordable. We went to KeyWest and Cozumel. Would you ever consider carnival?
I do consider Carnival but have yet to book them. The conquest is on my list but prices have been similar to other lines I am more familiar with. One day!
@@TheWeekendCruiser I just did my very first Carnival on a 12-day Legend. I really liked it Even though Legend is a small old ship, I still had fun. I am the opposite of you, I prefer the long cruise to the short cruise, so, I don't know. But Carnival is manged by CCL which is the biggest in the world, and sometimes biggest means better guest experience in many ways. I definitely will do Carnival for at least a week, again. I liked MSC, too. I'll be on my first RCI in 2025.
@@Tee55118 I have booked a weekend on carnival in 2025. I am actually excited to try the conquest and see how she is! And I would LOVE to do longer cruises! I just have to work :-(
I’ve watched your Q&A type videos and whilst I got there are somethings you do differently on ship vs on land (eg diet 😊) I haven’t understand what you think you do differently solo cruising vs when/if with others. I’ve never solo cruised (yet) but have been on cruises when the person I was with was unfortunately unwell leaving me whole days to do my own thing. I found I kept an entirely different schedule, activities and diet without them. I definitely ate quicker (something you’ve mentioned) but I also ate unhealthier and more often if I’m honest. If you haven’t covered it I’d be really interested to know how you think you do/would differ or could. If you have covered and I’ve missed it I’d appreciate a pointer in the right direction 😊
This is a really good video idea! I could easily make a list of what I do differently. It's really more just doing what I want vs the group. Groups just change the dynamic of everything that is happening.
You are correct! I made it a while ago but they give you 6 months to book and then I booked even further out. Though, my points with RCL have slowed a lot as I am cruising other lines significantly more now. Currently at 1575 points with Royal's Crown and Anchor.
I’m glad you posted this video, but I’m confused. If you look at the Crown and Anchor member benefits it says in the description of the milestone cruises that it is valid only on the applicable cruise it was earned and if not used is forfeited. What you describe makes sense. The description on the member benefits page makes no sense. 🤔
Yes the cash value part of the description you described is as I understand it. The part I don’t understand is the very first sentence of the description. It says that the complimentary cruise is “applicable to the cruise that the 700 points are earned or the offer will be considered forfeited.” I was under the impression that I had to plan to use it on the cruise I earned it. After watching your video I’m gonna assume I misunderstood the wording.
@@MerriHaub-er6cr Yes, the certificate is "earned" on the cruise you hit 700 points. You will receive an actual certificate in the mail with the room type and dollar amount yu can redeem but more importantly, will have an expiration date of when you must book the free cruise. There are also a few blackout dates such as holidays and new ships you cannot use it on.
Thank you for the clarification. I remember watching your unboxing video when you reached pinnacle. But I thought maybe the procedure had changed since then. I am a recently retired, empty nested, solo traveler. And was really excited when the loyalty desk on my first retirement cruise was able to find ALL of my “loyal to Royal” cruises from the 80’s, 90’s, and early 2000’s to give me points. Now that I am scheduling solo long range and B2B’s for 20-25 nights several times a year I am climbing that benefits ladder pretty quickly. And this information will help in the planning stage. Happy sailing to you… I gotta go see the world!
