    I so appreciate your videos - they have really inspired me to move forward with a store. However, it would be helpful to know what your continued ad spending yielded in the way of profit. In no universe is a net profit of $2,000 based on your sales and costs a viable business. I am not criticizing - I just think it would be helpful to know what your profits look like now versus 2021 and how much of that you attribute to that early decision to spend $12K. Thanks - and thanks for all of the effort you put in to these videos!

    Great SEO is even more important when running ads on Etsy because you could be wasting ad spend on the wrong keywords. You'll be getting clicks but no sales, and that hurts.

    Cassiy, first of all -- your channel is a goldmine of information and both the quality of information and its delivery are unmatched compared to any competing channel. One question -- did your advertisements include "offside" ads? It is my impression that your budget was solely dedicated to ads that are run within Etsy. If my understanding is correct, is there currently a video on the impact of the offside ads? Thanks in advance.

    $2k increase is a terrible return on $12k advertising spend. As with Google ads they are just an overpriced mechanism to give huge profits to Etsy and Google - as with nearly all advertising due to FOMO.
    The returns indicated demonstrate Etsy ads are 80% over-priced. If they dropped 80% they would be a good ROI.

Can you do a video about this? Or a segment about this? I just want to make sure I’m taking care of my customers properly!

      Did the reprint happen and did the color issue get fixed? I had one print that had a purple line that came out almost red from SwiftPOD. I convinced them to reprint (they didn't want to) and it just came out the same way the second time! They claim it is my color choice but I have no idea what that is supposed to mean as my color "choice" is clearly purple not red :(

    Obsessed with your videos! Thank you so much! I did have a non-ad-related question... For your POD services, do you always purchase samples from Printify to see the quality of your listing or not? This is my first time doing this and I'm getting a couple samples to see how they look before I list, however, I'm not sure at what point I should just "trust the process."
    Looking forward to your response! =)

    • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  2 года назад +2

      Hi Heather! No I don’t get a sample of everything. I think getting a couple samples is beneficial to get a feel for what your products will look and feel like. If there’s a design in particular you’re worried about not fitting or not printing right then that could be worth getting a sample.
      I do have a few videos reviewing Printify’s products! 😉

If for example the shirt became a best seller, is it ok to add the sweatshirt and hoodie to the variations? Will it affect the current seo and that listing's standing in the search results? Is it ideal to add the variations when the listing/product is already a best seller? I was thinking if boosting the sweatshirt and hoodie too if the shirt becomes best seller. Sorry if my question is really long. I hope u answer it, i'm really curious if editing a listing (even photos or stock) will affect the seo

    So, from what I have read, there is no up front costs to use Etsy Ads correct? You are only charged a fee (which is 15%) IF you make a sale? But when I go to set up Etsy ads and set a daily budget, it says "Your budget is only spent when buyers click an ad, and you can change it any time." So, you are actually charged each time they click on an ad, whether or not they actually purchase the item?

    Hi cassiy..I discovered your channel as I would like to start a POD business using Shopify. I was considering Etsy as well but after this video I was wondering why I would want to run ads on a platform like Etsy since they already have customers ready to buy products on their platform. I might as well create my own Shopify store and run ads where I am in control of how much I make and marketing strategy. Don't you think that makes more sense? Also, I heard Etsy can shut down your account for no reason. I have watched videos of Etsy sellers on RUclips complaining about that. So, it is safer having your own website that way you have more control. I suggest you too should not only rely on Etsy and create your own platform or website to drive traffic there too.🙂 It just an advice from random person on RUclips so you can ignore my comment of you like. The rule is multiple streams of income.

    As a new store I HAVE been running ads because I feel I need the boost to get seen in a saturated market. Now that may not be correct, but I have seed money to get started and just see this as cost of business.
    That said I feel like my ads are just not performing well and maybe the problem is with my listings. I've been trying to follow everything you and others has taught me about good images, titles, SEO, etc. My current ad budget is $100 a day but Etsy isn't spending nearly that much. Yesterday shows $1.69 in ad spend, 1,164 views 5 clicks, and no sales. For the last 30 days, $28.89 in spend, 14,100 views, 97 clicks, and 1 sale.
    I feel like I have multiple issues. I'm not getting nearly as many views as I would expect with my ad budget, and of the views I am getting my CTR seems really low :(

    • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  Год назад

      I know this can be really discouraging in the beginning but I would just keep finding new niches that are selling right now, creating new designs that bring value to the search results and getting a little better everyday! Some people are better at this right out of the gate but most of us need practice. If your adds aren't getting clicked then it may be something missing with your listing. So again make sure to be adding value in some way to the design, not just copying, have good mockups, and make sure that it is easy to read from the tiny thumbnail. Just keep at it!

      I recommend leaving offsite ads on. This is Etsy advertising your products on other websites like Facebook or google, so it's a sale you wouldn't have gotten otherwise. So when you do get those sales, which aren't very often, now your listing gets a boost because it sold and hopefully you also get a good review! Also after you sell 10k in revenue in a year, you don't have the option of turning these off anyways.

      Hi Kim, off-site ad sales are very rare, at least for me. I would say 1 in 100 ads shown for off-site ads. I would leave everything as it is and focus mainly on the customers you're getting on Etsy, a 15% increase sounds a lot when most of your customers are already on Etsy. Also, you're getting some profit and it's not a complete loss. I see it as a boost to a regular listing that happens every other couple of months. If you've sold less than $10.000 total you can opt-out of off-site ads.

    Hello!! Thank you so much for all of your help!!! Question… my friend and I have an LLC and an Etsy shop together. Can I purchase something from that account from our Etsy store or would that be frowned upon by Etsy??

      When you try to order something from your own shop Etsy will say something like ”oops! You can’t order from your own store” but you can order samples of your products through Printify if you want to do that. Wishing you the best!

    Interesting but calculations do not cover all the additional fees? such as vat on the ad fee plus the actual sales fees that etsy charges, so that 2000 is possibly even less. I agree they give organic growth a boost.

    Do not run Etsy Ads. It's garbage. You will lose money.

      That's not true... Thanks to ads, when I started my store i sold 104 products my first month and using small niches. I always promote new products and i combined with different strategies
