Ruislip Lido Railway | New track tamping machine

In January 2020 we placed the order for the Ruislip Lido Railway’s new track tamping machine. Little did we know back then that with the coronavirus pandemic about to hit the world, it would take a full 18 months to have the machine built and delivered to us.
We have now had it a couple of months and we are finally able to show it off after some training and initial use. In this video the Project Leader and our Permanent Way Supervisor Chris explains the procurement process and design of the tamping machine before showing us how it works. Footage of it in use on one of the sections of our line rounds the video off so sit back and enjoy!
