Nobuo himself admitted he didn't labor over the song but rather played what he felt in the moment. A hopeful send off as their possibly last game turned into their empire's flagship and this cadence declares it so.

DooDrobe no it actually came from FF that's right the first final fantasy opening theme then the theme carried on to future games not all of them but I think mostly all of them including FFXV

The Grim Slayer it's usually there in one form or another but it's not always in the same place. For example in 1 and 4 it's near the beginning but in 15 it's at the very end. It's used more as a nostalgia nod than anything else.
