I would take shoes meant for playing tennis over all of these. Durable rubber compound outsoles are the standard! Tennis shoes have more durability (tennis is outdoors) and the support is VERY similar to basketball. Cushioning is good too--tennis shoes will feel lower to the ground however. ALSO anything with a prominent air bubble is an automatic no for outdoors.
@@mstenson4 bro literally any nike or ASICS tennis shoes--i promise you they'll be good for basketball. i used to play both tennis and basketball but i wasn't about to buy two pairs of fucking shoes. tennis shoes are easily great for basketball
I use the KD trey 5 VIII and I think it's a great option too. The upper might not be the most resistant and the support is not top tier, but the outsole is very durable and the cushion is nice. Plus, it's not really expensive.

When I was playing basketball 15 or more years ago, my choice of outdoor hoop shoes was the Nike AF1 Sheeds Hi. Genuine patent leather, lighter than the usual AF1, best ankle support, and durability lasted for two years - absolutely worth the money!
Before the pandemic I always ran with the Curry 3s, Curry 2 lows, and Nike KB Mentality 2. The Kobes were a win win because the traction was thick and durable AND you could swap insoles with other Kobe models 🔥

Great review, I wouldn't still ball in the lebron16 outdoor though :). I just don't want to wear expensive shoes to just ball outdoor, if it is on sale and has good cushion (bouncy if ever), then all good because less cushion will hurt your feet playing outdoor. I use TMac Millennium, DRose10, and Nike Zoom Rize, all on sale when i bought it, and they all have great cushion and outsole durability.
I personally have been balling outdoors in my N3xt L3v3l’s which aren’t supposed to be that durable but surprisingly they’ve been doing great... Would recommend!
What I do... when I feel like buying a new pair... I graduate my current indoor pair to an outdoor shoe and use new ones indoor. Also if the shoe is not sticking as much indoor I use them on rough outdoor courts. Great Video Jaron....

Any shoe made for hard court tennis are excellent. Your doing a lot of the same movements. My optimum outdoor balling shoe is the Air Tech Challenge 3/4 in Black circa 1993. It's a Monsta!

Thank you so much for this video. As a primarily pick up game outdoor player, I google this question all the time! One time in high school I bought a pair of all red, on clearance, under armor shoes and they lasted for years outside. But since then I’ve been on a 10 year search for another outdoor pair. Almost no one takes into account I’m looking for shoes on sale or really cheap. Opening up the video like that was all i needed to stay and watch.

Nice video. I've been wearing the Lebron 15 for solid outdoor court use. Been good so far, but seem to be losing their bounce. My knees been hurting. I suspect I am older than you, so am needing maybe some exercises I can do to protect my knees? do you know of any? And might do the recommend on the Lebron 16, but kinda like High Tops. Maybe the 17? What do you think? My knees are actually hurting pretty bad and its been 3 days since I was out on the black/grey top. I only play outdoors. Usually 2-3x per week. Now its 2x since I'm hurting. But its the ONLY exercise type of thing that I enjoy at this moment in my life. Been playing for maybe 40 years on and off. The court is right across from where I live so hard to resist. (I dont do full court anymore..LOL) Thanks for your assistance.
I was on the fence for getting a pair of lebron 16s for outdoor ball but this video made it a guaranteed cop. Going with the glow pair instead of the low triple black cause of your suggestion of the more durable material. Love the content and video editing man!
Hey do u think the Kyrie 6 is a good choice. The fit was really nice for me and i heard that the traction was really good. I don't really know about it's durability so I just want to see if it is a good choice.
I also have a pair of lebron 16s and use them for outdoors, they have the comfort and they have held up very well. My second hoop shoe for outdoors that also has held up extremely well are the Harden vol 2
Finishline has PG 4 and Kyrie 6 for $60 each (if you’re not picky about colorway). While they’re not super durable it’s a nice outdoor option for the price.
Great video! I'd add D.O.N Issue #1 to that list, I'm playing in them on outdoor since may (before quarantine I used them indoor for few months) around 3/4 days in a week and have no traction issues, sole wearing or any other issues although I'm playing on Tartan Track court not blacktop (on that surface I used Rbk Question for few years and cushion might be not enough, but sole is very durability like in most of 90's shoes, even today it look almost like brand new and blacktop quality was very low).

I always liked the Air Darwin’s, air raids and pretty much any 90’s CB. All my shoes are retro. I had the originals in the 90s so I know how they perform,…although the retro releases are almost always made cheaper.
In my opinion, the best outdoor basketball shoe is the Under Armour HOVR Havoc 1. I've got the low ones but they are very durable and I only play on outdoor courts.

Cross trainers are the best for outdoor ball. The soles are made for outdoor use and uppers are made for ankle support. Cross trainers are pretty much what outdoor basketball shoes used to be. They're are getting harder to find though.
I got $47 Kyrie Flytrap III, have 5 hrs of playing on asphalt, they're good so far. They are snug but, they're getting lose quick. They don't show much ware yet
I played in a new pair of Lebron 17s once outside just shooting around, big mistake. The outsole is falling apart already. So I got the jumpman 2020 and I love it. Not only it withstood a lot better than the LB 17 and has not worn at all at the same intensity and duration of play, it's breathable and has great cushion protection and not to mention that it looks great. 90’s basketball shoes are best for outdoor play, buy a size up from your normal shoe and then go to Wal mart, buy the air plus, work boot foam insert for extra cushioning, under $10, it works

Thanks JAHRONMON! This video is really usefully for us in SE Asia bcs we hardly find any indoor courts here I played in my Kyrie Flytrap and it's been holding up really well and about to buy another shoe with great cushioning, I think LeBron Soldiers and maybe the 16s are the best option, thank you!
I have the LeBron 17's (man in the arena) and they do well outdoor too! A bit on the bulkier side so they do feel a bit heavy but other than that they are very durable!
Thanks for being honest on a affordable, durable and breathable outdoor shoe.😀 I like those soldier 13 and the Bron 7 is decent. I only play outside and need a durable sneaker. That Nike Air bacon 🥓with touch DRC outsole and full length air is terrific. The newer Bron 17 wears out to fast.

Every second of your videos is worth it,GOAT in terms of reviewing sneakers🐐
Which one do u prefer among the mentioned one in this video other than the one in which u play?I am looking at the lebron 13s.What do u think about these?
Here from Philippines and missed videos of the Top 10 shoes of the week. Insane, I agree you are underrated. Surely, I will recommend you to my friends who are shoes' enthusiast.
Bro this is a really nice video. I’ve been following you for a few years now man and you keep getting better. Love the outdoor intro, variations and video quality. Great work and thanks for always making good content bro!! Hope to hoop with you one day!!
The ad before your #1 lmao nicely done
But for real though the camera work is niiice
Thanks JAHRONMON! This video is really usefully for us in SE Asia bcs we hardly find any indoor courts here
I played in my Kyrie Flytrap and it's been holding up really well and about to buy another shoe with great cushioning, I think LeBron Soldiers and maybe the 16s are the best option, thank you!
Try buying xdr extra durable rubber shoes if you can
For me one surprising shoe was the kd 6 because the traction pattern is flat it doesn’t wear down very quickly.
I have the LeBron 17's (man in the arena) and they do well outdoor too! A bit on the bulkier side so they do feel a bit heavy but other than that they are very durable!
Great vid @Jahronmon. How old are your Air Bakins bro?
Finally! I've been waiting for this video
At 2:37 it's just waffling about saying cheap.
Thanks for being honest on a affordable, durable and breathable outdoor shoe.😀
I like those soldier 13 and the Bron 7 is decent. I only play outside and need a durable sneaker. That Nike Air bacon 🥓with touch DRC outsole and full length air is terrific. The newer Bron 17 wears out to fast.
