*UPDATE* The high speed sync FV-150 - X-Pro transmitter video is READY!! And uploaded!!! ruclips.net/video/cSWKefoKKFE/видео.html I just received from Godox today the wireless radio trigger. I’ll be uploading a video specifically for FLASH on the FV-150. Will also cover the flash brightness / intensity as well, including high speed sync demonstration. Stay tuned! I work fast uploading content.
Thank you very much for this video! Very helpful. I know from experience how much thought and work goes into these. So thank you again. Although I have been using Godox flashes and strobes for many years now, they weren't even on my radar for a contemporary LED. In fact, I was recently looking at other popular products that are significantly more costly. I own a number of Godox products and would like to know if my current trigger(s) will work with this light. Which transmitter did Godox send you?
Ulysses Ashton thank you for your kind words. Yes, it’s a lot of work. 12 hours lol. The remote they sent was the X-Pro C (canon). In the video I showed a bunch of remotes on the side. They all should work. The XPro works fir SURE.
ArtVideo Productions the XPro is a very nice transmitter for the Godox series of lights. I think you’ll enjoy it. The reason this light caught my attention was because it’s one of the few LED lights that seems to operate for photo as well as video. The only negative for my usage is that it needs to plug into a wall socket. No battery operation like the Aputure or the Nanlite series. Of course, those have their problems, too.
Ulysses Ashton can’t use it DC? think again :). You can Power the FV-150 outdoors using this 300 watt PURE sine wave power bank . (Amazon Link in the description from this video) ruclips.net/video/sLymGdWSi4o/видео.html
ArtVideo Productions when you create your next video about this light, will you be able to check it with a color meter and comment on its color accuracy? Plenty of LED lights seem to have trouble in the red frequencies. Thank you for all the great work with this one!
Just one more question for clarity. Maybe you already mentioned this in some of the comments: If the FV150 has its LED running at 100%, how long will the inverter supply power? At 30:15 in the video you said it would run for at least two hours, but I'm unclear if you mean at 50% or at 100%. Thank you for putting up with all the questions. :) ADDED: I believe I found the answer in the comments area of one of your other videos about the inverter. You said, "I also tested the brand new Godox FV-150 outdoors, continuously ON non stop. It lasted 1 hour 25 minutes! Set to MAX power" This is impressive! Thanks for the data and the time making this excellent review.
Ulysses Ashton 1 hour for sure at 100% power non stop. I shot some RGBW water features for a client at night, the FV150 lit the whole background, outdoors. I had the FV running for at least 50 minutes at full blast. Remember... TEMPERATURE MATTERS as to how long you’ll run the lights. It was September. In the winter... like... 25 degrees, it will drop down substantially.

özgür akşakar thanks for your question, 1- the SLBW60 is an old light. 2- you cannot change the color. Either model, It’s *locked at 5600 K*. I definitely recommend that you get the FV-150 for your food photography and skip the old model.
Can we not change the color temp? There is no option on the control board. The user manual mentioned it is on the remote. Remote doesn't control it. How to change? I want it at 3300k for warm light.
Hi, i might have skipped a little too far, but what are the readings on full power flash mode from 3 meters at 1/125 iso 100? Can it do at least F8? Great video though! :)
very informative video, nice. I have Stepped approximation to a sinewave APC ups bx1100. Would you consider running this with the ups for outdoor shoot?
The sine wave is very important. UPS is not, plus an UPS is usually heavy and tied to an AC cord. Just get a minimum of 300watts power bank + sine wave.
Hello I'm trying to figure out the flash power of the strobe in this light, is it it 600 watt on flash mode? And 150 watts in Led constant light mode? Thanks
For photographer 2 things matter that you did not show. 1) flash duration @ 1:1 power. Will it freeze fast moving person? 2) modeling light proportional to flash power. How bright in proportional mode? 1/4?
Renaissance Photo I didn’t forget. Godox is shipping me the fast sync stuff that I don’t have. Then, another video will be made specifically for that in December. Hang tight
@@ArtVideoProductions Awesome, but I'm not talking about HSS (high speed sync). The question mark over using LED as a flash source is how fast it can be switched on and off. The flash duration is measured as T.1 or T.5. and really matters for fast moving arms/legs/etc. For example you don't want to take photos of people jumping lit by a burst of flash that endures for 1/300th of a sec.
Great review! Question with some background information. We have 1 Godox SL60W in our small studio that we mostly do lightboard training videos with, and we need more light. (we had to add a circular polarizer to the GH5, so we don't see the reflection from monitors which cut down on the light). I was thinking about getting another 60W and then a flash (v1 from Godox or godox 200) for photography (although primary driver is vidoe, I want to be able to take portraits in the studio). In this situation where it's primary video but we dabble in photography, what do you think. Is it a good value and you'd recommend the 150? I'm curious about fan noise relative to the 60W and relative light output in LED mode. Is it louder than the 60W, and am I reading this correctly that it's about 3x the output of the 60W (4100 vs. 12000)? :) thanks so much for taking the time to share your knowledge! (I'm now Subscribed w/Bell on) :)
Paul Stephenson III I have no issues doing interviews with the FV-150 l. Fan noise is negligible. Fan noise is a thing of the past apparently. (New units)
@@ArtVideoProductions Do you know the fan noise specs of the 150 vs 200? I couldn't find on Godox.com. We're about to pre-order one of the lights for a key light (vs. a 300d II since this light also gives us some photography options we don't have) and trying to decide between the 150 and 200. Based on the specs Godox shows the 150 isn't much bigger (2 cm longer * .2kg), but if the fan noise was much higher we'd likely opt for the 150. Thanks again for helping the community!
Paul Stephenson III the fan on the 150, you’ll have no issues with it. I don’t. The FV 200 is a lot bigger than “2cm”... possibly a higher noise fan. can’t tell about the fan as I don’t have one. Here’s a video I shot using the FV-150. Noise is not an issue vimeo.com/379182264/2f49a46c2b. (Skip to 17:00) ANY NOISE you hear, it’s the restaurant ambient. Not the fan. I guess this is not the best example but you can at least see what the light does on the Key light. This comment and video will be removed in a few hours. So watch fast :)
ArtVideo Productions I looked at the specs on the Godox site - they show 34 x 16 x 20 for the 150 and 36.7 (cm) x 16 x 20 for the 200. That’s where I got the ~2cm difference. I’ll email distributors and Godox and see if I can figure it out. Thx for what you do and the reply!
@@ArtVideoProductions under the same conditions of iso and shutter speed? I was wondering what the maximum amount of instant light would be for photography. So, I would like to know the F value when the led is 100% + flash 1/1 at iso 100 and shutter speed 125.
비타민X sorry, but right now that’s not practical because I will have to setup the light and get stands, a light meter etc. I’ll let you know the next time I use this light.
Allahabad Nuts yes, this is a VIDEO light and the LED also acts as a flash, all in 1. Yes, it’s better than the SL-60. More power, quiet fans and the SL is an old light. The FV-150 is brand new!
Finally, my godox FV200 arrived along with the Xpro C, all perfect until it combines with my profoto lights, the problem is that I cannot use the Xpro with any other radio at the same time, whether that is Profoto or an old JJC the result is the same, the profoto lights go crazy, try this with Impact lights and it happens the same. This problem is when I use it in flash mode. I use a Cabre Opteka fsc-5 E-TTL II Cable outside flash sync camera to use both remote controls at the same time. What do you recommend to correct this problem?
Raul Dighero I’ve never used different radios in the same setup. That’s a bit unusual. If you’re having interference, I’d use slave sensors on all non Godox devices instead of multiple brand transmitters.
Thank you for your prompt response. My problem is that by putting my Profoto lights in slave mode the light of the Godox FV200 is not so powerful to activate them, it only manages to activate them when it is at full power and very close to them. I test the configuration with other brands of lights and the profoto work very well with the two radios simultaneously connected to both the FFC and the Impact ones. Everything collapses when I connect the Xpro, either with Profoto, FFC or Impact. It is very strange.
Raul Dighero I’m very sorry I can’t be much of a help as I would have to have everything you’re using to determine where the problem is. Thank you for your time visiting my channel Raul.
Dominick the LED flashes at 1/8000s. No flash tube. But, of course, NOT when set to a full 1 to 1 power. Most strobes need to be at at least 1/2. Cant tell for sure until I have a high speed sync device hooked up to this light.
Allahabad Nuts click on this link, then skip to 11:20 ruclips.net/video/Y_AnrKqt37w/видео.html Measure your speed ring. Cut the gel to size and add Velcro on both, the Gel and Speed ring. There you go! And SUB to this channel
Hi Sebastian Reinhardt, if you got to this specific question, it means that you probably watched the entire video. Firstly, *thank you* for watching and visiting this channel. This light is a “hybrid” light, and that alone is pretty innovative. Yes, you can’t have the same power output from this light compared to a dedicated strobe. Those things are beyond the power of his light. For many photography related tasks, the FV-150 can be very useful. I took some corporate headshots with it, it was perfect. Once again, thanks for your feedback.
@@ArtVideoProductions actually what I would like to see is a ad400/600 pro with a "modeling light" which is like the godox constant light. so full strobe and full constant light. that would be great.
Looks like a good light until you show us the increase and decrease of the intensity. Thats definitely an over site on there behalf. Kinda stupid in a real world situation. I can't emphasize enough on the stupid part. This is part of the reason why more expensive lights cost more. You actually get full functionality. In this case, less isn't more.
Hey lovely people. Quick two questions. My remote control for Godox FV150 support only on and off function and switching a channels, all other functions as controlling a brightness of the lamp are not supported (as my Amazon seller told me , this is normal). Also when my lamp is powered and I turn it off with remote control, my cooling system (Fan) never going off. It can go for hours until I unplug it from the power source. Any of this is normal? This my first lamp and I'm a beginner so please advice. Sorry for my English
utkarsh kapoor SL-200 is a very old light and sounds like a airplane turbine. The FV-150 sounds like a whispering breeze. Shot interviews multiple times with the FV-150. No problem. It’s like the fan doesn’t exist. New lights today, most likely they will all come silent or near silent. The manufactures are very much aware that fan noise is undesirable. Not a thing to worry about anymore. INCLUDING flickering.
Thank you for you extremely swift response. And what's your say with the noise levels compared aperture 120d mark ii. Waiting for your extremely valuable opinion.
CHL3488 ANY power bank that is Pure Sine Wave capable will do. Any brand, and model, 300 watts minimum, even though the light is 150w. It’s always a good idea not to overload the thing to capacity.
Hi and thanks for the review, in order to sync this as a flash with my Panasonic GH5 do I need a remote trigger or can the internal radio connect to this light? Thanks
RomiesStudio thanks for your question. Correct, you don’t need anything else, just the radio. I made a dedicated video for that, right after I made this review, if you browse my other videos it’s easy to find. Link can be found here in the *comment* session as well.
Great review, thank you! When you do your review for flash mode, will you also have the possibility to measure flash durations? That is going to be an important factor with this light.
Thomas Geist thanks man... I’m afraid that’s not going to be possible. I need a Sekonic L-858D-U, which I don’t have. My Sekonic meter doesn’t have that capability. Spending $600 to get that won’t justify for me. You can ask Godox that info. They probably have, as they should since they made this light. Thanks again.

Thank you for this really great in depth review, looking for online information I found that they have VL150/200 as well which would be more my kind of light as i am 100% video focused. But no news on when this will be available. Do you have any contact to reach out to in Godox for this? Liked and Subbed thanks again.
Vivid Colour Films I also focus primarily on video. The deference between the two, as you know the FV is flash \LED and the vl150 is LED only BUT it has a ballast that is easier to control especially if it is 10’ tall on a C stand. Godox vl150 $399 + ballast Godox FV-150 $349 If you don’t care for the ballast and saving $50 get the FV.
@@ArtVideoProductions I think VL is the way to go for me, I often need to light from high up. I saw in one of the Godox videos that the VL has a Bluetooth connection for the Mobile app. I don't recall if that was also in the FV series?
Vivid Colour Films Bluetooth, not on the FV. But it has a remote. Can do everything the ballast can. I’d get the FV!! Plus it’s got flash. You never know when it might be needed I gotta go sleep now. Waiting for the LUXLI TAIKO 2X1 RGBAW PANEL arriving today!! I’m the first in the world to receive. Directly from the factory. Not even BH has it doing a massive review soon

THE HAHN Thanks for watching. This fan has a negligible noise. Very quiet. In this video, for that super crisp audio for my voice, I had a condenser Super Cardioid very directional microphone placed as close as 6” away from my mouth, off frame.
Renaissance Photo the 1/1 ratio (max power) will NOT freeze photos like any studio flash. Lower power ok.
Thx for what you do and the reply!
thanks for your video, and I'm curious about the F value when both led and flash are full light.
비타민X 33:29 ISO 800 F11. 3 meters away. (LED) BARE LIGHT
Flash will be higher, same distance I’d guess f22
@@ArtVideoProductions under the same conditions of iso and shutter speed?
I was wondering what the maximum amount of instant light would be for photography.
So, I would like to know the F value when the led is 100% + flash 1/1 at iso 100 and shutter speed 125.
비타민X sorry, but right now that’s not practical because I will have to setup the light and get stands, a light meter etc. I’ll let you know the next time I use this light.
@@ArtVideoProductions I'm sorry I asked so much. Thank you.
비타민X No problem, I’ll be happy to ,
Hello sir
Is this a video light aur speed light???
If it is a video light, is this better than sl60w model or not???
Thank you for your concern and answer these crazy questions so quickly. It has an excellent channel.
Raul Dighero an RUclips channel is nothing without the viewers. Thanks for your kind words and support.
Thanks for a nice video.
Can you do shutter drag with this unit?
Chad Whittle I don’t see why not. Dragging shutter is simply mixing ambient lighting with flash. Make sure the modeling light is off ...
Is the led the flash’ or does it have a flash tube inside?
Dominick the LED flashes at 1/8000s. No flash tube. But, of course, NOT when set to a full 1 to 1 power. Most strobes need to be at at least 1/2. Cant tell for sure until I have a high speed sync device hooked up to this light.
ArtVideo Productions awesome thanks
Can we change temp on this light....whats the range??
Allahabad Nuts No. this light is a fixed daylight 5600K. You can add Gels if you want.
@@ArtVideoProductions Sir i have sl60w and i dont know how to put gels on light when the bowns mount of light is attached to a softbox????
Allahabad Nuts click on this link, then skip to 11:20 ruclips.net/video/Y_AnrKqt37w/видео.html
Measure your speed ring. Cut the gel to size and add Velcro on both, the Gel and Speed ring. There you go! And SUB to this channel
how about vs nanlite forza 60?
Aae Kubbu I don’t have that light :)
f11 at 800 ISO at 1/30s ??? so unusable for serious Studio flashwork. hm i hoped for more...
Thank you for this, the best review video!
How is the noise compared to sl200
utkarsh kapoor SL-200 is a very old light and sounds like a airplane turbine.
Waiting for your extremely valuable opinion.
utkarsh kapoor it’s pretty much the same. Noise in not an issue here. Unless you put a mic 6” / 20cm away, ANY LIGHT.
Thank you so much
thanks for the video! what lapelle mic do you use?
The KRTOTAI KR - 902 is not available for Canada ..do you have any suggestions on other models...thanks..!
CHL3488 ANY power bank that is Pure Sine Wave capable will do. Any brand, and model, 300 watts minimum, even though the light is 150w. It’s always a good idea not to overload the thing to capacity.
@@ArtVideoProductions Thanks for your information...!
@@ArtVideoProductions thank you, looking forward to getting the light this week
Great review, thank you! When you do your review for flash mode, will you also have the possibility to measure flash durations? That is going to be an important factor with this light.
Thomas Geist thanks man... I’m afraid that’s not going to be possible. I need a Sekonic L-858D-U, which I don’t have. My Sekonic meter doesn’t have that capability. Spending $600 to get that won’t justify for me. You can ask Godox that info. They probably have, as they should since they made this light. Thanks again.
Is it bi color or kelvin’s do nothing?
protasov media all specifications are found here. Thanks:)
godox.com/EN/Products_Continuous_High_Speed_Sync_Flash_and_Continuous_Light_LED_FV150.html
Did I miss when you tested the brightness of the flash? You said 4X brighter.
Cameron Akin I just received from Godox today the wireless radio trigger. I’ll be uploading a video specifically for FLASH on the FV-150. Will also cover the flash brightness / intensity as well. Stay tuned! I work fast uploading content.
Is the background noise I hear from the light's cooling fan?
Andrew AndYou I have a Condenser mic 4” away (four inches away) from the FV-150 as I speak.
@@ArtVideoProductions Excellent to know. Thank you so much. I was going to buy the SL 150, but the fan noise is a true problem. Good to know they solved this issue with this new FV150. Thank you
Thank you for this really great in depth review, looking for online information I found that they have VL150/200 as well which would be more my kind of light as i am 100% video focused.
Godox vl150 $399 + ballast
Godox FV-150 $349
If you don’t care for the ballast and saving $50 get the FV.
Not even BH has it doing a massive review soon
does it work with the godox pro-s transmitter???
MaRcO chiarini sorry, I only have the Xpro. Godox website or BH photo sales can answer that question.
In flash mode can it function as a slave flash or is it mandatory to use the X-Pro remote control?
Raul Dighero you must use the X Pro. No slave
Well it couldn't be perfect, thanks for your great contribution to the community.
Raul Dighero I’m always glad I can help
is the flash a real flash tube? or did they do the fakery that rotolight did?also how many wattseconds is the flash and how much watts is the led useing?
jacob katz 600 watts, LED flash. No tube
@@ArtVideoProductions wondering how it freezes action if there is no flash duration or how the high speed synch works without a flashtube .. either way its an impressive unit
nice review by the way
jacob katz that I’m about to demo when they ship the Godox XPro-C high speed Sync remote in a separate video on December Thank you for the kind words as well and for visiting my channel.
@@ArtVideoProductions 600w means It is same power ad600pro?
THE HAHN I don’t have that unit. Can’t tell...
Thanks. I can hear fan noise in this video. Is it from fv150?
THE HAHN Thanks for watching. This fan has a negligible noise. Very quiet. In this video, for that super crisp audio for my voice, I had a condenser Super Cardioid very directional microphone placed as close as 6” away from my mouth, off frame. So, there’s also the light, 6” away from the mic. Obviously, the fan noise will be all over the place.
@@ArtVideoProductions thank you for kind reply. I am waiting for next video about flash mode for photographer. I aleady ordered 4 fv150 in this black friday after watching your review. But i think it's not good power for photography. So I have to decide whether to cancel or not. I want you upload next video as soon as possible.
Thanks again
THE HAHN DAAAOOMMM!!! You bought 4???
that’s awesome man!!! I’m humbled to know that you bought them because of my video. Thank you!! I’m sure these lights will do great for you. And I’m waiting for Godox to ship me the high sync speed controllers. Sometime in December they said... I’ll immediately upload a tutorial ! Don’t worry! Also, consider that Godox also makes the FV-200! More POWA!
Please subscribe to my channel so you get notified when the next videos come up!! 고마워!!
It is possible to change the cob LED myself?
Raul Dighero no idea why you would want that but... if you are a master in electronics, I don’t see why not
I'm thinking long term when the LED stops working, unfortunately where I live there is no support for godox products, good for any type of flash (unfortunate) and I have to do this kind of thing. Thank you for your prompt response, your interest in helping out is appreciated.
Raul Dighero no problem, I’m glad to help bro. I wouldn’t worry about that . This COB chip life duration will last you over a decade using everyday.
Good news you have given me! Godox FV200 is a safe purchase.

kyrt667 thanks for mentioning the hard work on this video. I appreciate that. If I tried adding GN data, the video would be an even longer watch time from the already 37 minutes.
