Sleeping Beauty will awaken so pleased with your awesome coloring. I too think she looks wonderful now. Pretty cool coloring chart as well. My medium isn't alcohol markers as they have a tendency to streak when I use them. You did an awesome job. Love Sherry 🥰🙏💞🖍
Good morning! I have some Ohuhu and i used a light "flesh" tone on a face and it left a Line as well. I don't know, i can't go super fast when i'm coloring! I wonder what it would do if you went over the blue gown again after it dries. Very pretty finished page! A lot of colorists base the image in alcohol marker and use pencil for shading as you plan to do. i'll check out your finished page👍 have a great day!🙋👍
You can try adding shading and dimension to the picture with the alcohol markers with using lighter and darker of the same color together and blending them that would look really nice
Love your sleeping beauty! So the alcohol in the markers, while it creates a smoother look, dries very quickly, especially on Amazon paper as it likes to soak up the marker and dry it faster. And some brands of markers use more alcohol to ink in the markers (because it's cheaper), which also shortens the time before it dries. The marker not being "inky" enough to start with or being at the end of it's life can also cause streaks. That quick drying is what's causing the lines. I've tried to adopt a "style" of quickly covering Amazon pages with marker but depending on the marker sometimes it's still going to do so. This can vary a lot, but the markers I've seen do that the least are Ohuhu and Caliart (as of right now, of course, formulas can always change). A lot of times I recommend people try a small set if they're sold - like 30 to 50, to check and see if they like the markers and to check the ink to see if it's going to streak like that. I wouldn't even recommend pricier markers like Copic or Prisma on standard Amazon paper. Because the paper soaks up so much ink, I've had mixed results with pricey markers streaking. For standard Amazon paper (like is in the Hannah Lynn book), you need a really juicy marker and quick coverage to limit the streaks. And unfortunately it's really just testing and practicing with them til you find the right markers for you. Ways around that are to use a smooth cardstock or marker paper for your images. The ink will stay wet on the surface longer. Or go over it with pencils and they aren't as noticeable. Or do a 2nd layer like you did with the skin tone and just use a lighter color to start so it doesn't go too dark to your preference. Or sometimes I just don't sweat it. I have a set of markers that do this constantly and I try to save those for color by number (where I don't care as much) or for smaller spaces on the page.
This is why I ended up getting rid of my alcohol markers. The streaking....and I had the expensive Copics! I just couldn't get the hang of them not streaking. I just didn't want to invest the time in learning more about constant blending and using 3 shades to get solid colors in order to not get them to streak coloring with one solid block of color. It wasn't that enjoyable for me. I hope you can though if you enjoy using them.😊
The streakiness of the markers can probably be solved by using the right paper. For alcohol markers one should always use very smooth paper, with at least 140gsm. The Rendr marker paper is perfect for that, or Bristol Smooth paper. Coloring book paper is not suited for alcohol markers.
Thanks for the review , your picture came out lovely!😊 Happy Coloring!
Thank you so much!

That’s a great idea! 💡

wow this makes so much more sense!! Thank you so very much for sharing this with me!! It helped a lot!
I was thinking of buying a set of these markers from Temu before buying an expensive set. How long does it take the ink to dry?
Not long at all! They are a pretty nice set!

I totally get it! I use them now for just base coloring and do all of my shadowing and such with my Pencils!!
