My sister and I were fortunate enough to see this tour. I was struggling with depression at the time and when he performed this song I felt an overwhelming feeling of comfort like everything was going to be ok. I started to cry happy tears. Thank you for uploading this.
Jenn C i too was fortunate to have seen Prince perform this song during this same tour when he was passing through Memphis in 1997. To this very day 22 years later it has still left me affected greatly. People can come close listening to his songs but it’s even better seeing them performed love and just how moving the experience is. I just remember leaving feeling completely in shock over how powerful this was and this song remains my absolute favorite out of many of my favorites he did. What an amazing soul he was.

I think anyone who has a song covered by Prince should be very honored, because Prince is so talented and writes his own!
If you really get into Prince, listen to everything you encounter, it becomes evident that his talent bordered on and was perhaps obviously supernatural. His deep catalog has the real good stuff. His hits are just sprinkled around as sign posts to show the way to the truly marvelous.

The first time I saw Prince was on his Emancipation tour. Words can’t describe the experience of hearing this song live. God was in the building that night.

The greatest, nobody has studied him , scientifically studied his frequencies studied his rhythms, beats,he's a genius we all know that but we don't know much about his message? He has given so much, He is good and good bad , which is neutral, was a kind caring genius you don't get that much there are moments in his preferences that, make you think he is going beyond what we know as our, reality. Cheering us on to find our light , like he found his. Nobody does this! Like anyone? He does!

Prince was a musical genius - but oh so human, so human... i am praying he can be in the heavenly choir too 🙏🏼 lord, have mercy on him, his songs struck a chord, let his music - and the prayers of his family, his friends and those who were touched by his music - may these be his peace offering and help atone for any harm he may have done - including any harm he may have done to his own self (with drugs etc) lord, may God's will be done. In all things, in us and through us. Amen 🙏🏼.
Pretty emotional watching it tbh.... What an astonishing talent he is/was. We'll never see the like of him again. A true maverick and one of my inspirations.

Prince creates a whole world you can walk right into. They says that's his gift.
I am 65 and been through a variety of all kinds of music from early rock and roll and the British invasion, moody blues, Pink Floyd, doobie bros, Sopwith Camel, Commander Cody, the pacemakers, Linda Rhondstat, Hendrix, Funkadellics, Almond Brothers, Roy Clark a fantastic guitar virtuoso in his day. I loved it all and Prince just like MJ was one of a kind. Fantastic musical Genius par none.
Yup as much as you heard their music and seeing them in Concert on TV or live it was a True Experience of brilliance. And todays concerts are mainly Lip Syncing and electronic music crap. It's
rare to find a group these days that play their own instruments unless you see metal bands like Ramstein or (Metallica which I can't stand the same repetitious singing voice that all sounds the
same ). But People pay to see LIVE NOT Memorex !

According to ecclesiastes 9:5 it says.." For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all."nor do they have anymore reward,"because all the memory of them are forgotten."
So accordingly, the dead are in a unconscious state not in paradise. But in acts 24:15 it talks about a ressurection of the dead that will take place.
It also talks about resurrection in John 5:28&29.

For a mega-star like Prince to cover the song says a lot for its power. Interesting Prince changes "slob" to "slave." Meaning within meaning.
