im literally leaving tomorrow night moving to whitesboro, TX. Currently in Broward County, Florida. I am so stoked yall have such a big MTB scene out there i have seens tons of really nice trails i cannot wait to ride.
Congrats on the move. Yes DFW has a huge mountain biking scene this is the local trail accociation website www.dorba.org/ It list all the trails under dorba and the current status there is also an app you can download on your phone. also there a number of groups you can join on facebook. NTX MTB covers riders close to were your moving Mountain biking in DFW is a large group full of local riders DORBA is the offical facebook group of well dorba. Gateway falls under Fort worth mountain bikers association and they have a facebook page you can follow that displays if the trail is open or closed. Trials in and around dfw close due to rain and our soil type not being able to be ridden wet. Lastly if you havent checked out my spider mountain videos take a look a few hrs south of DFW there is a lift access bike park that is amazing.
Just recently went to Gateway and there are large sections of the trail washed out. I'm going to go back again and try to do the trail these guys did it looks fun. Cool video .
Don't know if you know this but there is another trail down the road in the video at 7:30 if you keep going down a bit more crossing the bridge, on your right, there will be a very small rocky parking lot. Right next to that parking lot on your right there is a trailhead, its a lot of fun but very tiring, lots of climbing and lots of downhill/jumps
you want to use the north park entrance take the second right and park in the lot with the two soccer pitches and the steps up in it. you can get directions by searching gateway park trailhead on google.

Yeah gateway East is no joke I've ridden it a couple of times.
