The worst part, I just assumed that was just apart of the story, and I was just supposed to lose him forever, or that he would come back.
I am very mad now.
I married him to make sure he wouldn't die. That and he's arguably the hottest dude available in Birthright (sorry not sorry Ryoma fans) and his daughter is ADORBZ.
Lmao my sister and I bought a version each so we could swap cartridges and she was so mad that I didn't accidentally get Kaze cutscene-killed like she did.
I also mocked her for Chapter 5 when Ryoma took his sweet time jumping to her defence against Xander when in Conquest Xander hadly lets Ryoma get so much as a scratch in.
I was so confused why I wasn't able to recruit his daughter when playing because I'd already S-ranked him with someone long before that chapter, then was like "oh because he could have died"
Wait, you can save him? I just replaced him after I realized he dies.

Gameplay Wise and visually wise Fates did so much that Awakening wishes it could.
Story Wise and Character development wise, it slipped and landed back on its head.

I... Fire emblem Fates was my second FE game (first was Awakening) and honestly... It got me through high school. I loved and still love the game and it's unique mechanics like the dating sim part (I was even upset we didnt get the touching function the japanese version had) and the baby making. On my first play through I always put together characters that I shipped but on my second and third play through it was MIN MAX XD. Honestly i miss this game and I can never replicate the same feeling of "new" I felt with each play through but it gave me good memories. I just wish people would see it as a better game in general because it may be a weird game... But it got me invested in FE. Isn't it all that counts? Getting people into the fandom and showing them how great it can be... Because to me Fates was one of the best games I've played. Yes despite the weird writing, and despite the sexual theme. It gave me the best gaming memories i can come back to (maybe tied with Kingdom Hearts but that's another story)
Really only issue I had was with Revelations. That route felt rushed and pandering for some reason like everything just clicks to easily into place. But beyond that I feel most of the hate comes from the die hard Chrom/Awakening fandom and their eternal quest to ruin everyones fun by saying "yeah... Chrom/Awakening was better" Then the other part of the Fire Emblem community that ruined it was the PvP community.
Fates was my first FE game and then I went back to Awakening. I played Conquest then Birthrights and honestly prefer that I played that way since I got the feeling that I did something horribly wrong as a person due to the story of conquest and that Birthrights could be better chances. The feels hit you alot harder when you know the Nohr characters and their stories. Xander calling you a traitor and his final fight for example push that sense of pain when you know his character from Conquest. Since I felt that the intro chapters explained the Hoshidan siblings much more than Nohr.

My little sister who got me into Fire Emblem feels the same way. It was her first game and she always praises it.

Mozu turned out to be one of my most badass fighters after I reclassed her into an Archer.
Honestly, it's kind of terrifying how easily she can trivialize the conquest route. At least up til hard though I'd assume she can hold her own in Maniac.

I'll admit, I didn't like the story going in, but damn was conquest some of the best fire emblem I played. and with FE stories being how they are, perhaps I can just enjoy it for...being unique we'll call it.
I'd definitely replay Conquest while skipping all the cutscenes. Never touching Revelations ever again.

I just started playing the 3ds series back in March after playing 3H back in feb. Story wise yeah, awful. But actually playing the maps? So much fun! 140 hours in already on my copy. All thanks to quarantine lmao

Fire Emblem Fates set the bar so damn low for Three Houses' writing but at the same time it set the bar SO DAMN HIGH for its gameplay. Kinda disappoints me looking back on 3H and not having it literally just be Fates gameplay on the switch....
Right? The writing might be hot garbage in Fates, but the gameplay is honestly some of the most fun I've had with the series. I really hope it's mechanics get used again in at least one future installment.

i dunno if it’s just me, but the gameplay (ESPECIALLY the monastery sections that can drag out for far too long if you have too many activity points) of 3h is so lacking compared to fates

You ever find it weird how the whole gimmick with Birthright - that you’re siding with your birth family - kinda gets thrown out the window since it’s revealed that you and the royals aren’t blood related, but they then make Azura your cousin?
It's weird that the game where you side with the feudal japanese kingdom is the one that got me into this ambiguously medieval european fantasy franchise.
Hinoka and Sakura are just unfortunately outshined by their Nohrian counterparts. Anyway, Team Oboro here.
They really needed more protagonism, specially since their personalities are not as strong or active compared to Camila and Elise
I feel like Sakura performs similarly to Elise in terms of relevance. Elise forces herself on you more but Sakura has an internal anxiety attack 24/7 which at least leads to more character than Hinoka has imo
@@galaxykitsune yeah, but Elise has more character moments. Wish that when Sakura was captured in Conquest you would have a personal dialogue with her, at least to give her more presence and maybe make it a tearjerker
Hinoka's entire purpose is to be outclassed by Camilla (even in the story) it's sad. She shines the most in her interactions with her retainers though.

Kaze's brother's name is actually Saizo, also wow I never knew Kaze could actually die in Birthright, that's news to me since I pretty much just played through all 3 games and didn't bother with it again because overall all 3 games aren't great. Still, there are many characters I love and adore in the game, especially the ninjas Kagero, Saizo, and Kaze.
Kaze only dies if don't have an A support at that point in the game. If you have that support level then he gets saved by Hinoka.
I only learned he could die because I was confused why I wasn't able to recruit his child even though he was married before that chapter and looked it up
@@grognak2575 Kaze doesn't get saved by Hinoka if you have the support; he spots a 'strange crystal' across the ways and throws a shuriken at it, triggering an explosion that sends both Corrin and Kaze flying back onto safe ground.
Kaze dies w/o the support because Hinoka can only carry one of you at a time; and he obviously prioritizes Corrin, because lol protag.
I watched this without realizing it was uploaded today. My immediate response was well now I need to see to the rest of your FE fates videos. When I couldn't find them, I was like wait a minute, they haven't been made yet.

Fates may be my favorite no longer, but all the time i put into it irreplaceable. I just adored Fates (not birthright tho. For the glory of Nohr!) and people calling bad, like those who passionately hate it and say it ruined the franchise need to chill.

Awakening quickly became one of my favorite games back in middle school, so I was super excited for Fates. I don't think that I ever got past either main route's eleventh chapters because I could never get into the story after the prologue chapters.

Correction: Awakening was the second Fire Emblem game that had the kid function. Genealogy of the Holy War (FE4 and Japan only) was actually the first FE game that had the kid function first.

12:48 My favourite way of making her into a War Machine is going Archer and then Sniper, she basically has so much skill she can one shot any enemy, making the game funnier and easier. I even finished the game on classic with her and Corrin only with that insanse sniper loadout 0 resets.
This game really got me into RPG‘s I feel like it’s pretty underrated but I understand they could’ve done more

Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright is really fun to play if you want to have a casual experience (not in a bad way video games are for you to have fun) of leveling up your units, getting them as strong as possible, and trying the new classes Hoshido offers. The hoshidan classes have amazing designs Ninjas, Onmyojis, Swordmasters, Pegasi are my favorites, since you can grind your units can become really strong if you feel they lack power, however, the gameplay and map design are really simple and sometimes boring for some chapters (until Chapter 23 and Mommy starts the real challenge).
About the story: average, like really average. Elise dying I have to say was really well made, I really like Elise she is a sweet cheerful girl, the thing that really screwed the scene was the previous death (Lilith) and the Traitor reveal that sucked and was uninteresting.
Improvements: Make Hoshido have flaws, Hoshido is based on Pre-Industrial Japan, so they can use it to criticize that time period or the modern era. Hoshidans can be more racist with other nations, they can think of themselves as the best and make them seen unlikable, Queen Mikoto could have had an evil plan with the barrier, and so on.

I remember when I got to the end of Birthright, I paired up Ryoma with Corrin and soloed the remaining chapters with them. It was super silly.
I did Mozu and Corrin and finished the game on normal classic in about 2 hours
