here is how i think(and what i always do) to know that the player activated or about to active death counter:
1:he was at half hp wich is a thing teamers will never do as that they always want to fight u at full hp to have a higher chance to win
2:he walked to you without trying to attack wich is most players do so u take the chance of him not attacking and fall into his death counter
3:him trying to attack u after u not hitting him making it too obvious that he has death counter on
4 he is faster than normal
5 his health doesn't grow
only works on noobs

Look if the enemy is rag dolled you can use hunters grasp and turn, then they will be un rag dolled. But if they arent then if you do {tech} they will just ragdoll. You can use the {rag doll version} to bait a counter if the opponent counter spams, OR use it to combo extend. This is also something i found out a few months ago and i sent it in a discord server. ( Just to clarify i prob invented it.)
