Man, your channel is my favorite. I really like how you're not totally focused on one thing. Its just fun, even the how to series (grilled cheese was great). I'm now building a 26" bmx for my son cuz GTMX is so righteous! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, Eric!
Shoutout to bikes on wheels! They stock a lot of really hard to get sunrace stuff (like their 9spd clutch RD). Great for cheap 1x- very prompt service too.
The GTMX is sick! I have a singlespeed converted 90s GT timberline with bmx bars. don't have a disc conversion like you tho, i'm not that advanced. You ever tried wheelies on the GTMX? front wheel pops up so easily on my GT, it's like a DIY wheelie bike. spindatt blocks!
Bikes on wheels rule way to come through!!
Hey is there another video about this bike coming soon? It's my favorite build of all!
Also a status on all the parts an welds on this one would be great to see! How are they doing? What's the chain tension after these months of riding like?
my pride and joy is my S&M c0vid cruiser , and I gotta admit, im kinda jealous of the GTMX. lol. nice job. looks awesome
Thank goodness for Gallium 🤗
Just took my BMX wheel to the bike shop for them to find the correct part it was missing when I bought it, so using this video as a bit of relief (while I try to plan my first proper project!)
BMX Wheel missing a part? Hub guard?
@@Spindatt I bought it second hand and it seems to be the bearings. After a few tries at adding my own bearings I've finally taken it to a shop.
This was brought about by me needing to replace a zip tie on my hub guard though, since I had the wheel out I thought I'd try and make the casette wobble less and well... At least the skatepark is covered in leaves and unridable until March
18" GT frames look fast sitting still❤
Nice. Nice ride, Spinney.
Thanks Jim!
Big fan of your videos👍, thank you😀 What brand is the long linear cable? Thanks
Can we submit multiple entries into the bike build off
What's the frame size and geometry for/of GMTX bikes? Recommendations?
*GTMX
Congrats on the sponsorship!
I just traded my Bianchi Lynx for a Cannondale Caad2 F900 and no lies, the GTMX has been percolating ideas for what I'm considering. Frikkin' headshok stem trying to keep me down though.
I like the bikes with quirky tech, cause it’s fun to get hack out of for normal stuff haha. Though I know nothing about cannondale stuff, never worked on it before!
@@Spindatt this is my first C'dale, and imagine my surprise in a) finding it has a working Headshok suspension, and b) the steerer tube on them is 1 9/16". I knew the headset specs were... unique, but I never thought to look in to the steerer diameter until I acquired this one.
Oh.. wow that sucks haha
There’s got to be something quirky headset reducer out there for those bikes though. There’s always solutions when I least expect them haha
@@Spindatt not too surprising given the challenge of rebuilding the Headshok, headset conversions are plentiful, and since it's a large diameter headtube 1.5 tapers fit. But, I'd like to keep it most OG (and also not buy a new fork) so figuring out the stem seems more inline with my intentions. And budget if being 100% honest.
Nice helmet! Anybody got a link for it?
Aaron Ross would be proud.
I was looking at getting some BMX bars but they all seem so expensive compared to MTB bars...any recommendations? Just for something different, I won't be doing any big jumps of tricks or anything.
There are always ones on sale through the big mail order companies. If it’s just for looks; Whatever is least expensive
Again, would a gyro not WORK right or not LOOK right?
Anything can be made to work, but I definitely am not super interested in putting a gyro on the GTMX. Would need tabs or an old school gyro plate, would need a stem with its associated plate, then figure out a London mod or purchase the lower cables as well. Too much for a bit of novelty really haha
@@Spindatt I had no idea they were that complicated. I would have figured buying a 25 dollar FB marketplace bike with one on and cannibalizing it would work
Was today the trash or bash round 1 round up ?
No, today is the final day to enter
I didn't want to be the only one
I looked it up on the website, says announcement by dec 22nd.
correct. I'll be spending the next 4 days going through all of the submissions and winding it down to the initial 20. Announced in a video here: posted on the 22nd.
@@Spindatt I’m nervously awaiting the video drop
get rid of rd hanger = entire prefect
Subscribe or I’ll attach a rear brake to your top tube. Downtube shifters we’re fine so this’ll be a winner.
Still missing that Shakespearian flair to the intro ("Friends, friends" Really?), but the cock and baws painted on the ground at 7:35, and with subsequent reappearances, really made up for it! 10/10
People like that he doesn't do some scripted intro
@@RLSteffler You wern't to know this, but I have been trying to convince Eric to Say "Friends, Romans, Countrymen" for almost 2 weeks now, on and off, but he's not doing it, to wind me up. Thankfully the penis graffitti at 7:35 provided an alternative source of levity in our exchange.
