I’m an American who has lived in Germany and will soon be going to Guam for a few months for work. I can only imagine the relief of leaving Germany and heading straight to Guam! Germany < Guam
I’m intending to move to the mainland with loads of furniture, a piano, my car, and two cats! This video is insightful and hope there are more details in a blog!
I don't have the details on my blog since we moved via the military (they have their own system) but I can certainly point you in the right direction with your 2 cats! Make sure your cats are up to date on their rabies shots and immunizations asap then ask your vet what the requirements are to bring your cats to mainland. You can also check the Dept. Of Agriculture on mainland too and check their requirements. Most likely, it'll involve FAVN titer tests and health certificates. And it's better to get this done asap if you're moving in less than a year to avoid extra costs. We started selling our excess furniture and used the money towards moving our cats. It's definitely not cheap but worth it for your furry loved ones ❤
Welcome! I’m generally new as well, I moved here around 8 months ago from america, it is a truly beautiful island and I’m so glad to have the opportunity to live here !!
Ive been waiting for this. Huhu i am so happy you are back home. Thanks God for the safe flight, challenge yet soo rewarding. Yeahey! More Guam vlogs and blogs sooon 🥰🥰🥰🥰🙏🥰🥰
this is exciting because i found you while looking up videos about starting a blog and clicked your channel to find this video! i'm actually chamorro and born in guam too but moved when i was a baby so im interested to see what my homeland looks like and what there is to do when i visit family someday
I know big moves like this are stressful and more than just the tasks it is constant disruption in our lives. I think you are on the right mindset. Loved the video. Keep it up!
Great video which will have nostalgic memories in the days ahead not only for both of you but for both the families too. Wish you both to have a settled , happy and busy life. I see a sling around Vivek’s arm. I hope nothing is serious and he is ok. Lots of love from Nana.
Thank you so much Nana! I'm actually already enjoying looking back at these memories too haha Vivek got surgery to fix his torn labrum in his shoulder. It will take 6 months to fully heal and he's healing very well. He doesn't need a sling anymore and he's doing his physical therapy to bring it back to normal
Loved your video, especially how you handled the trip with your two cats. I'll be moving to Guam soon from the state of Maine. It will be just me and my 2 cats. Would you please tell me where you got the cat harnesses and carriers. They looked very easy to travel with. Thanks , Carolyn
Wow, you guys are troopers! For you to make such a huge move, with two cats, and so many steps in between to make it to Guam is incredible (plus you were vlogging it the whole time) My heart went out to your cats! I have two cats and can imagine how hard it is to worry about them! Did the airport hotels allow cats? You mentioned briefly that you sneaked them in in SK?
Thank you! We snuck them into the transit hotel in Incheon because they don't have pet-friendly rooms. They do have outside the airport and in SK, you can leave the airport without having to quarantine your pets if you're transitting. But we were so tired and decided to try sneaking our cats in to the transit hotel. And if it didn't work out, we'd go to a pet-friendly hotel or find a bench to sleep on in the airport. Luckily it worked out for us. We made sure to clean away any litter or cat fur that was left behind. That said, the first 2 hotels we stayed at were pet-friendly.
Hey Johanna, Hope the move to Guam has worked well. I'm currently in Czech Republic. Would love to do a podcast together with you about Blogging and Online Courses, What do you think?
