The brand name Beauty of Joseon translates to “Beautiful Woman of Joseon.” Joseon is the name Korea was called for many centuries. The Korean romanization can be strange in that ‘eo’ is pronounced ‘uh’ 🤔 So Joseon is simply pronounced “Jo-sun”
So happy I've been saying this correctly. I feel like the numerous Korean shoes on Netflix really helped me with pronunciation. Thanks for the background on the name too!
I'd like to thank you, it was a link to your PKY video 6 years ago that started me on my skincare journey. First time in my life I healed my acne. Thank you
Oooh I had literally just put this pyunkang yul cleansing oil and beauty of Joseon cleansing balm in my wishlist, this video comes at the right time! I also always adore you sunscreen reviews.
I honestly started integrating sun screen into my routine thanks to you. Used to think all gave a white caste - now, I know there are more elegant formulations.
Note that if you use stylevana to purchase skincare products (the shop that she linked in her description), it can take up to 25 days to recieve your order!! They are experencing major supply chain issues and my order placed last month still hasn't been shipped yet. Best bet is to go to korea town stores in NYC to buy the suncream cause ive been waiting all summer and they still havent arrived -.-
I'm so happy that I already have the Beauty of Joseon cleansing balm and their sun screen. I have to admit, it made watching this so much more bearable. I do agree about the sunscreen making the skin look nicer. It is definitely giving me a glow. 😍
Hey Renee! So excited to see all of these new products. I will always love Pkunkyul products so I will definitely be picking up the new oil. I enjoy alternating balms and oils for my first cleanse. Sunscreen…. you know I’ll always here for them. Hope all is well and I’ll see you on the next video! ❤️❤️
You are my source for skin care for years now because i was never disappointed with your recommendations. I still love missha's revolution essence the original one, the hada labo hyleronc acid essece that was much earlier than when Asian/K beauty became popular here
I'm so glad I've discovered your channel around a year ago. I followed your recommendations on some asian skincare products (cos I live in asia so can only get mostly korean products). I knew nothing about skincare and the ingredients, but now I've learnt so much from your channel, and my skin condition is wayyyy better now. Thank you so much! and love your recommendations of sunscreen in this vid, definitely will try some!
I love the BoJ cleansing balm, SKIN 1004 products, Anessa sunscreens and Hada labo. I really want to try Bellfower, I never used that brand before but they have so many interesting sunscreens, the blueberry one appeals to me the most. The BoJ one is another on my to try list
I ❤❤❤❤ the Isntree watery sun gel. Thank you for the Bellflower reviews. You are the first creator who I've heard speak about the brand. I've purchased the idebenone brightening gel toner since I was intrigued by the name, look, and ingredients. I recently added the first 2 sunscreens to my wishlist so I'm happy that someone demo'd it.
Love these videos, Rene! However, I wish Korean skincare products worked for me. The only luck I've had has been with PKY black tea eye cream. It's so lovely and silky and doesn't cause milia, at least on me. But every toner, essence, and sunscreen has either clogged my pores or dried out my skin like mad! It must be all those plant extracts. If it isn't made with synthetic ingredients, my skin won't like it 😥
I want to try so many of these productos but I can't get them in my country it's so sad :( we can only get our hands on a select number of asian brands, the most famous ones usually. But I really enjoy your review and insight, the perfect amount of detail on your experience to know what to expect from a product but also to the point
Oh, fun! *Putting the SKIN1004 mist and Beauty of Joseon cleansing balm straight in my Stylevana cart*. I love when you do these reviews. Always so many great recommendations. Love the BOJ sunscreen, and I just bought the iUNIK cleansing oil on a whim the other day, as, fun fact, London now has its first physical Korean beauty store. Struggling with the self-control of not going to the store every Saturday. Such a treat to be able to try things in store when you've used to buying online. Hard to beat those great Stylevana prices though. Gotta love that. Thanks again and look forward to further reviews.
I really enjoy all the advice you give for the skin,as a 70 year woman I really need a simple routine,my skin type has always been healthy ,with no problems at all,but now is a little bit dry and sensitive with fine lines and flakiness could I get some products that you recommend it for me, I would really appreciate your advice, great to see how natural and younger you look
Love pyunkang yul’s cleansing balm and their black tea time reverse eye cream and face masks, the masks have peptides and really give my face a boost after a flight so I looked fresh for a birthday brunch I had to attend the next day.
I need to try these cleansing oils....so far I have been washing my face with this Foreo Luna 3 brush , and it's been amazing. but I am willing to try something new
Man I get so excited for your sunscreen videos, no matter how often you do them! (Still haven’t been able to find that EVY mousse stuff to deliver to the sates, though)
Wow! thats how long I’ve been using Pyukang Yul too, and it was because you talked about it. I’ve tried other brands too that I like, but I always end up going back to Pyukang Yul. My oily skin just loves that brand. The Joseon Dynasty Cream is really good, too in case you haven’t tried it.
Thank you for another great review of Asian affordable skincare products. I just received the BOJ sunscreen from Stylevana and can’t wait to try it. Have you tried the Round Lab 365 Derma Relief Sun Cream. I have heard great things about it. If I am not mistaken, it’s very popular in Korea.
I will be interested to see your full review of the 2022 Anessa sunscreen. I googled it and was shocked to see that ethanol and talc are the 4th and 5th ingredients.
Anessa can do no wrong!!! I usedthis sunscreen in Thailand and my skin was really protected. Have you tried the new all mineral Tatcha sunscreen? I would love to know your opinion on it. Thanks❤❤❤
The Bellflower sunscreens intrigue me, especially the avocado version. Do you know if these are water resistant? How do you spend a lot of time outdoors in the summer and need something that is not going to sweat off. I did not see anything on the Stylevanna page addressing this. Thank you!
Hi Renee! This video was amazing. After watching your video, I actually went to Stylevana and placed an order for a lot of SPFs and some lip tints. But, I have still not received it. Their delivery takes months.. I actually went to their Instagram and saw comments with the same issue. When it comes to Asian beauty, I blindly trust your recommendations and that also includes the retailers like these. But this was unfortunately a very bad experience, I am not even sure if I will get my order now. Just wanted to let you know so that you can maybe stop supporting them
It takes ages for them to pack the orders, but the prices are well worth the wait. I used to order from yestyle, and I liked that they had a nice selection of accessories and other items. But the prices are sadly so much higher than stylevana.
I ordered from Stylvena a month ago, still haven’t received any shipment notification and emailed the customer service twice and received no reply at all. Wouldn’t ordered from them again!
@@anncheng6176 I have ordered from the 3 times in total. The third time, they shipped it the next day! I think they have long lead times on some of their stock and I think they are becoming more transparent about it. I wanted to order a serum and it said it would ship after 30 days.
Hi, I wonder if the new Anessa sunscreen still has a mild version (fragrance-free) and is it invisible? The previous one mild version was unfortunately quite visible on dark skin. Thanks!
Renée! After using the Su:m37 rose cleansing stick back when you first reviewed it years ago, i recently wanted to get it again. Alas, it's been discontinued... have you tried anything similar to it? I really really miss it. The scent, the entire experience was so nice and i'm kind of bored with my basic gel cleansers.
I purchased the last sunscreen you talked about and still waiting for it. It’s been taking a long time but I’m excited to find a sunscreen I can wear under makeup and have it look okay. I have tried so many sunscreens and still haven’t found the one. I hope this is it!!
Hi can I ask what product is most effective for sun spots or pigmentation I made the mistake using a vit c oil under my innisfree HA gel spf.Thank u :-)
I love your skincare videos of course, have for a couple years or more now. But you should give us a home/apartment tour!! I don’t know why but I’m selfishly curious and it would just be so fun hahaha :P
I tried the Pyunkang Yul Cleansing Oil as soon as it came out when it had little to no reviews and I hated it :( I think was just a personal experience but the smell and feel made me feel dirty and I was painfully going through it so as to not waste it. Even though I have oily skin, I think I prefer the feel of formulas like DHC Deep Cleansing Oil and will definitely try the Calendula one based on your recommendation.
I tried the calendula one years ago and loved it. I have oily skin and had zero issues with residue or clogged pores. The one thing I’ll say is that it contains canola oil and definitely smells like that. If you ever cook with it and know the smell, it can be strange at first to put it all over your face!
I’m happy to have come across your comment as I was thinking of getting that cleaning oil. What exactly did you not like about it? Was it difficult to rinse off? Or leave a residue.
@@emmac329 something about the overall experience: the smell, the texture. It was very oily in a greasy way. I remember it leaked through the bottle and the label got all greasy and slid off the bottle
