When you suddenly realise how hard it must have been for Snape to lead the school once he had to kill Dumbledore and then try fight mcgonagall as well
he planned it all out with Dumbledore far before, even though it was hard he did it to save harry out of love for lily and stopping Voldemort, if you look closely at the point where he fights McGonagall he doesnt fight her back all he does is deflecting her shots to the other two Death Eaters :))
@@sobotta5658 It was in the movie. In the book, they fought seriously and no one could win, and then Snape escaped. In general, the story about Dumbledore planning at least something is very funny, because there was no plan. If there was a plan, then it would be very simple: to destroy the lord in the 5th book and that’s all.
Snape made a promise to protect draco at any cost, because draco was the one who was destend to kill dumbledore so voldemort could kill him or disarm him for the elderwand. As soon as he knew he went to dumbledore so he could protect both draco and harry, I think

"Fight back!, You coward! fight back!" I feel like this sentence has so much meaning and it is so emotional. Snape is the opposite of a coward. Almost makes me cry.
The moment where you realize that Snape's "blank slate" face in the Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows scenes is actually poorly contained grief and sadness.
He is a double spy at a crazy dangerous job. Also he is used to conceal his feelings since he was a boy. So he just wears that "closed" face, it is self-control. And shows some emotions when thinks its safe.

I feel so bad for Snape. His childhood was awful - had a miserable father, got bullied in school and one of them got married with the love of his life. Then he had to teach their son, _always_ rememberd about his bully and his love, who's so exhausting. It's not easy for him. No wonder, he's such an asshole sometimes.

I actually think that McGonagall eventually understood. At the end of the fight when he knocks out the Death Eaters and takes their wands, she raises her wand to attack and even makes this little wrist movement but no magic comes out and she lets him escape...and I don't know there's something in her eyes... I just think she saw what he has done. She was almost sorted to Ravenclaw, she was pretty smart.

I hated Snape since the first book right until the last few chapters of the book. And those last few chapters changed my opinion completely. Snape is a warrior, a survivor, a hero, a role model and a brave, brave man. The Harry Potter fan dim won't forget you Snape. We won't forget Allen Rickman eithier. Harry Potter has defined me and made me feel apart of something. A huge fandom that will stay strong.

When in the first film, Harry asks who is that teacher and they respond to him severus Snape, he starts to have pain in his scar, so J. K. Rowling makes everyone thinks that severus Snape is a bad person, but it wasn't him making Harry's scar feel painful, it was the guy sitting next to Snape. And J. K. Rowling was very good in making this scene.

watching alan's microexpressions and actions is so mesmerizing~ he really conveyed every one of Snape's emotions in a way that allows them to be interpreted fully and correctly with the hindsight provided by the pensieve, while also keeping Snape's emotions in enough check that the audience can see why the students he taught thought of Snape as cold and unforgiving~ absolutely masterful

I doubt Snape would ever come back with the resurrection stone. The people who came back were those who he loved, who he saw as family, and who he looked to for protection.
He didn't love Snape, and definitely didn't see him as family. His protector, sure, but not the others.
Just like how Fred didn't come back, even though Harry saw him as family, and loved him. Fred wasn't a protector to Harry like the others.
Honestly, I'm more surprised that Dumbledore didn't show up. But maybe at the time, Harry wasn't feeling so great with finding out that Dumbledore planned for him to die.

I think it was the lack of affection that killed him little by little... on that level he's not so different than Voldemort the only difference is that Voldemort probably never suffered from lacking love.
The fact that he has become so attached to Lilian invalidates his point enough. Many describe his relationship as obsessive, but I see only the remorseful of having lost the person whom you have affection and love shown him. And that makes me wonder how his feelings toward Albus would be. Has he felt any "fatherly" affection over the years?

The only reason he never received affection or gave it to anyone is because he was too awful. There was nothing to love in him. He lost all his friends because they didn't know that everything he did was to save them along with everyone else. He had to kill the only man he truly respected because the same man told him he had to. And the one woman he loved left him and he was unable to move on because she was his closest friend. And the person she left him for was James who teased and tormented him daily, and when James along with Lily were killed he had to protect their dead son. Harry looked so much like both of them that he was reminded daily of what he wanted so much but couldn't have, and what took that thing from him.

snape is clearly the best character in all HP series. he had the hardest role in this war, enslaved by two masters - especially dumbledore who played with his feelings and culpability towards lily’s death to make him do what he wanted. i totally agree that i was interested in dark arts, but i believe it was only because he wanted to know more about magic in general. how can you fight the enemy if you don’t know their weapons? and plus, he made terrible mistakes, but he had the worse life. he was abused by his father, his mother was killed by him when he was a kid, bullied by the maurauders and rejected by his only true love for an insult that he said under circumstances (he was humiliated in front of the school for god’s sake, and she couldn’t pardon him for a simple word??? i am sorry, but lily didn’t deserved him, she just wanted to get rid of an embarrassing friendship). i won’t say more about him because i could make an essay on the complexity of this character, but you can’t say he was a bad person. he was a good man who, beaten by life, chose firstly the dark side but then come back to the light. and this is something that only a few people could do.

@Erika Aleksandra All of his problems were self inflicted. A bad past explains your behaviour to an extent but it does NOT excuse it. People talk about how he was such a great and brave person when he bullied and terrorized emotionally damaged children. He was Neville Longbottom's worst fear. His parents were tortured into insanity but his potions teacher was the thing that filled him with dread. Yet, after countless years of unreported abuse, Neville still managed to be kind and good. You know why? He was a decent human being whose actions were driven by love. Not regret and guilt.

I think that he joined the Deatheaters, because he wanted appreciation. Like, he never got the appreciation for his Intelligence or something like this and for the first time in his life, he had the chance to show, what he is capable of. He made this one Mistake and regretted this for his whole life. If you are your whole Life between Death and Life, having so much pain and Stress, then I would also become such a Crouch. He was never free, had his whole life a Master and he also didn’t die Free, yep, I really think he deserved a free life.
